In this video I am giving you plenty of reasons for why you should choose to retire in Las Vegas, Nevada. To say that we have a lot to do here in Clark County would be a huge understatement! Aside from the great weather, there's plenty of activities that you and your visiting family can do while you are living your retirement years in Las Vegas, Henderson or North Las Vegas. There are also smaller towns in Clark County near the Vegas Valley that you could choose to live in like Boulder City and Mesquite.
Nevada is well known to retirees for being one of the best states for retirement because there is no state income tax. However, one aspect of our taxes that many people do not know is that our property tax rate for homeowners is one of the lowest in the country! The U.S. average property tax rate is 1.07% (according to Smartasset.com), but in Nevada it's only 0.5% and in Clark County it's 0.65%. In Nevada, Clark County and Washoe County are likely to have property taxes higher than more rural counties, but it's still well below the average in the United States.
There are of course many great neighborhoods to choose from, so you can pick the best one that suits you when you are in the moving process. There are 55+ retirement communities as an option, but there are plenty of single family homes, townhomes, condos and rentals available as well.
