In this episode of Ancient Medicine Today, Jordan Rubin and I are talking about secrets - herbs, supplements, essential oils, etc. - to help boost testosterone in both men and women.
You’re probably most familiar with testosterone as being the sex hormone responsible for defining “manhood.” And, yes, it does. However, proper levels of this key hormone are also necessary to stimulate sexual desire, increase libido, heighten arousal and ensure sexual satisfaction for both men and women. It’s also necessary to maintaining the following:
A healthy pain response
Sufficient levels of red blood cells
Regular sleep patterns
Optimal bone density
Muscle mass
And high energy levels
As men and women age, their T-levels naturally decline but this can accelerate faster than normal by the typical American lifestyle:
Chronic stress
Insufficient nutrition
Imbalanced microflora
Low vitamin D levels
Weight gain
Inadequate exercise
Prescription drugs (especially statins)

I'm a woman with Low T and I'm starting injections of bio identical next week and I have been sick for 4 years with terrible fatigue, hair loss and the list goes on and not one doctor has ever said let's test your hormones in 4 years WTH. I had to go out on my own and insurance does not cover checking all your hormones but my Test was 4 and free test was 0.06 so ifs no wonder I feel horrible praying this works to get my life back! Had gout episodes since 1980 ( am now 79). Never did find a short cut to get out of a pain episode short of taking 2/3 indomethicins. However, changing the diet REALLY helps. Am now doing intermittent fasting and eliminated sugars, sodas, and sweet snacking. I lost 50 lbs and also “ lost” gout. Black cherry juice was not very effective for me. No alcohol definitely helps and getting away from processed meats and sticking to Grassfed beef (although not eaten everyday) is important as well as increasing the fiber and greens eaten every day.

Bone broth is great for joints as well. Collagen from slow steeped bones will help lubricate and repair ligaments and tendons.

This is so informative. My primary care provider just prescribed bio identical testosterone and I have not started it. Im taking your recommendations and going this route first. I was not aware once you start taking synthetic testosterone it shuts down your own production for life. Thank you so much for providing such informative options that are much better for our bodies.

I got a brand of DHEA called 'Pure' - the powder in the capsules is very fine. I emptied a capsule into a tablespoon of pure DMSO, let it dissolve and swab about a teaspoon or less of that onto your skin. (Clean the skin first.) Do this every other day for two weeks and your hormone levels will jump up dramatically. Back off to once or twice a week for maintenance. You don't need a lot of DHEA to make a huge difference so when using DHEA with DMSO be careful. (I do this along with natural progesterone and it's quite effective.) If you're a menopausal woman and start getting a cycle again, obviously back off.

Careful..too much dhea( more than 100mg) over a long period has some fatal documented results.And I'm like all 'Pure dhea powder? Where can I get it?"

Exceptional good class on Testosterone boosting. I use Maca & I like the tast. A Hormone seldom mentioned is "Pharmaceutical grade Pregnenoline" especially good for diabetic 1 type. I watched a youtube video that warned making your own bone broth may be risky because of the fluoride in the bones & that got me thinking I wish I was Ruben here & made a truly Healthy Bag of Bones people can buy to make Blue Ribbon Bone Broth. In fact I would Market BONES to prepper people as a must have Food stock.

In my country as Ukraine we used to have bone broth ALL the time means literally in everyday nutrition. Preparing soups and famous borstch based on bone broth. Like especially kholodets an especially concentrated bone broth including different sorts of meat and bones

Due to high intake of corticosteroids around a year ago I have put a lot of weight and have been suffering with chronic fatigue and low testosterone. As soon as I started with Ashwaganda I noticed a big difference in my mood and energy levels.

Well Im taking resveratrol, turmeric and magnesium glycinate supplements and I take a tbsp of virgin coconut oil before drinking my coffee or green tea. It does improve my brain function, stamina, energy.

Alex Cryshan 1611 well then you definitely have nothing to be concerned in this case. Testosterone comes naturally at a younger age than it does when your older. As you get older it rapidly decreases

Hey, I know this is an old video. But how do you guys feel about tribulus terrestris? I keep reading about it and was wandering what you thought about it helping men AND womens libido? I know it doesn't really boost testosterone. But I keep reading that it helps with actual libido. Do you think it's safe to take?

high intensity interval training 2x week will increase your testosterone. Also healthy foods like avocados, good healthy oils like olive oil, avocado oil and coconut oil naturally increase testosterone too.

There are many other supplements (like: Tribulus Terrestris - an best example of a supplement that increases libido, but has no effect on testosterone, D-Aspartic Acid, Maca, Tongkat Ali, Vitamin D, etc) that supposedly increase testosterone based on some speculative studies. The other issue with some of the supplements is that they may actually have adverse side effects like making people jittery and perhaps even boosting Cortisol). Can you do a video that addresses some of these other substances that we should possibly stay away from?
