The city in Need For Speed Unbound reminds me a lot of the city in Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012. Criterion did a great job in designing the game; they make exuberant in-game map, not a bland one.
I've been telling people that Lakeshore feels like if Criterion got to finish MW2012's Fairhaven. I know it's Chicago and all, but there's quite a few sections, especially around the city and the highways, that scream Fairhaven/Paradise City to me.
I agree. The city feels more alive than heat too. They definitely fixed some issues heat had. Not perfect game but i like it more than the last 3 nfs games
This game is actually so fun and I completely agree with the customization one, nfs games have been way ahead in terms of customization it's so free and up to you
Forza was never about the customization or the story, it’s about the driving and the music, there is always room to improve but i don’t thing it’s a fair comparison, in my opinion they are both great games in their own way.
One thing I wish say is that i wish for the love of everything holy that they bring back the tuning system from 2015 because ever since that tuning system drifting has felt drifting and grip hasn't really felt like grip. I feel like if they give us those tuning setting we as nfs player can really make our cars the way we want. Those extra tuning settings really made a difference and I'm kinda surprised how people don't mention that. In nfs 2015 also the physics weren't the best and was kinda random, but drifting in nfs 2015 looked and felt like the only game where it was possible to actually have a legit drift car, grip car, or a car that has a mix of both. I'm not tryna meat ride nfs 2015 but I'm really starting to think that they need to give us those extra tuning options from nfs 2015. Not to mention it would help out since other car games have in depth tuning options as well.
In the nicest way possible… Grip racing in 2015 was terrible. This is the first year ever in which I can say that I have truly built a drift car and a grip car. You really just need to mess with your settings to make sure you have the car tuned to your liking. Grip tires, road suspension, And moving your slider to grip makes a huge difference. The understeer is gone, and you can actually accelerate to the corners and turn.
Yeah no grip builds are completely competitive in Unbound and you get more boost back when making a grip turn than getting boost back from drifting. Isuckatdriving drives the regera at Full Speed while it sticks to the road.
I guess the point he's making is that the cars in NFS makes sense for the purpose of the game and is carefully put together (underground street racing with shitton of money at stake) while in FH5 it seems like they just everything into the game just to have a massive car list.
I’ve hated NFS for awhile and have always been all about gran turismo and similar sim type racing games. But unbound knocked it out of the park. I can’t put it down. It’s just so much FUN and I love the visuals. I’ve played the horizon series and they’re good but can’t compete with unbound for overall fun.
2:12 Will have to respectfully disagree here, they do have too many of the same model in different variance when they could easily make the OEM parts a customization option to not market the "140+" cars thing. Instead could actually put more newer vehicles or previous vehicles we've seen in other NFS titles to be in
Car List Nah Stop Cappin Forza has that on the bag they may have many useless cars but from the useful ones they have they top tier hands down any day Unbound just new all this hype will go down just watch
Is it…I have played both forza 5 and unbound and guess what unbound is far more fun and enjoyable than forza 5 which has the the most empty world and a boredom with it whenever I play forza . Idk why forza 5 is so overrated without a story and a proper progression and also here people are praising that even motivating devs that they did a right choice by removing progression and story.
one thing i forgot to tel you, these 3 cars are Porlouge cars firstly after a few races then a drive back to the shop your gets stolen s well after mentioned in a delivery mission.
9: it actually feels a whole new game in series with better handling. graphics, map, and different story line; and not the same game repeated over and over (probably even downgrade in some parts) with just different map and some new cars like in forza series
Yuwan, the coutach, charger and Silvia aren’t even the starter cars… You only get them for the prologue, then you have to pick an even worse car. Not sure if you noticed this…
that's the best part but I'm ngl they should've made the prologue cars a lil more exclusive cuz you can kinda just put on the legendary kits and have better version
Game is incredible minus some major issues with physics For example- i had a collision/squeeze into a wall and between that wall and a box truck, then it entered the crash cutscene thing, the side of my car to the wall bounced up from the impact (fair) then it landed on *all fours* and exited the crash cam, then proceeded to MAGICALLY LIFT THE SIDE OF MY CAR UP AND NEARLY FLIP ME. Also- In some cars that i built for grip (ex: lotus exiege s) when turning, the car would start to slide (understandable as sometimes i was probably turning with a bit too much speed) so i counter-steer to correct but the car stars drifting the other way, rinse and repeat until i slam the brakes to stop it. OR i counter-steer and there is no perceivable effect, the car continues sliding in a “turn right to go left” style. TLDR- the physics obviously try to flip you and cars built for grip will slide uncontrollably
for someone that keeps reminiscing the old, how about we get the old Yuwan back and not the watchmojo guy. Id watch the shit out of actual gameplay or just anything with more personal flair. Its been years and im still here (through multiple accounts) waiting for more of you.
@@johnvaughan22 NOT EVEN CLOSE to 2 years. Also you wrote the comment and its like top comment how do you not expect some people to see it. Dont matter if its an old comment. People still gonna say something
I don’t care what any RU-vidr says. The community prefers a much smaller car list with much more balance so the racing is actually competitive. 127 cars in an arcade racing game that is story based, is way too many. It pretty much shows you that the dev team is wasting their time on the wrong aspects of their cycle. This game needed a bitter story and better racing. It’s a cakewalk on the highest difficulty if you’re upgrading your car as well. Another weak entry in the series that had promise, but didn’t deliver. 25-30 cars that are closer together in performance and have full customization options was miles ahead of what Unbound has to offer. Most Wanted 05 had 3 wide bodykits for every car offered in the lot and maximum performance was pretty balanced. Now we have 127 cars. Over half of them handle like ice cubes on densely packed sand.
Best NFS game in years. Some annoying flaws yea but overall i like it, you either like this game or hate it. Its not for everyone but I personally really like the game because of improved handeling and graphics. Racing feels exhilarating and challenging. Definitely recommend it
The one thing to be covered i was looking for here is driving dynamics. For alot of people, its what makes a racing game. What good is endless customization if when you go to drive the car in game, it works like GTA 3 on PS2. He touches on it, but doesn't go into detail or compare. I imagine, its more of the same from previous NFS games though. This installment however, looks like the old Burnout series..very arcade
that's what annoys me about most NFS videos too. Very few of them address the driving itself. In a driving game, the handling is the most important thing for me. But as you rightly say, customisation seems to be more important to most people...
The unbound surprisingly got a much better handling improvements from the previous nfs. But I also see some ppl struggling with how it handles, especially from the forza players. It’s kind of a wild card, since if you tune it well, it could drive like really good and doesn’t feel as arcadey. On the other hand it could also be tuned to unrealistic handling or even weird handling. If you take your time to tune (which is pretty simple, just picking the right parts + setting the tire grip, steering sens, and downforce) it could be a game changer on the way the car feels. I dumped hundred of hours in fh4, really enjoys it. But after going to fh5, imo it’s a downgrade and got super boring real quick. For me now if I’m looking for a fun driving experience, I’d rather launch ac or gt7 with a wheel. And when I want to chill with a controller, nfs seems like a better game now since it has a goal and the cop chases are damn fun. I also hope tdu solar crown will be a banger next year. But hey, to each their own.
@@reinhartc bro VALID point! I tried to play woth the dynamics setting on Crew 2 and they didnt adjust much..never applied this approach to and of the NFS games, but my concern is...once changed, will u still be able to manuver the way ur competition does (whether it be another person or npc)? Sometimes, those settings have a tendency to limit the way the game is played in that aspect. But certainly worth a try bro, good point
Very arcadey still. Drifting is just weird, it feels like you're fighting the car for control. Forza is FAR ahead when it comes to drifting. Grip handling is surprisingly enjoyable though, think of it as a more arcade-y Forza Horizon. The cars feel like they have an oomph--a weighty feel to them, not floaty. Definitely a step up from the mess that is 2015-Payback-Heat's handling models.
Para no estar contradiciendo a ambos, se puede decir que FH5 está diseñado para relajarse y pasear y NFS unbound está diseñado para divertirse, llevarse de adrenalina.
Cop chases/an overall sense of risk, car customization, and working to make your car viable are NFS's trump cards. Unbound is more polished and has more in-depth and functional handling than previous NFS titles. But I'm disappointed in the replayability. I restarted my NFS Heat save 20ish times, because I loved the progress of building my garage in different ways. I only wish the story was longer or Level 50 wasn't the highest level. Unbound has a longer career, but the first hour or so is a complete waste of time, the story isn't as engaging, and the event/day-of-the-week limitations make replaying it not as fun--not to mention the incommensurate economy. I do liked the tiered races for multiplayer, but I wish you could do single events and that races weren't tier-specific.
My biggest complaints is that you can't choose day/night like in heat. The grip physics are good but the drift physics are TERRIBLE. The artistic smoke I dont like I prefer the old style tire smoke. That's my only complaints.
Wait… you want forza, to add more traffic cars? I agree with pedestrians but didn’t the forza community complain about there being too much traffic in some of the games?
does this have logic: i cant run nor Unbound nor Horizon 5 and Heat and Payback but I can run games that are made under 2017 and in videos I can run a 4090 titanium game
The arcade physics alone make it inferior. However that doesn’t make it not enjoyable. I’ve always viewed it as a low key game when your just messing around or a game children can play.
There's one bad thing of NFS after 2015 and it's TAA only. That thing it's the worst with fast moving objects and lowers the resulution resulting in blurry image. FH5 has MSAA and it's a lot better antialias tech for peoples with PCs powerful enough to not noticing the performance hit of 2x/4x MSAA. Dirt Rally 2.0 also has TAA but you can turn off that crap and use MSAA, probably the last Codemasters title made like that.
To me it's more so frustration from a fan who really seems to like the franchise and wants it to be better than it is currently cause it can be and should be better.
Hold up, I paused the video at the moment you said, 'no cringe'..... because it is painfull sometimes, buttt for me, thats the only thing I bother about this game
The thing why I think NFS Unbound is the best NFS in... forever (at least since ProStreet) and that it's just _better_ than FH5 is that it has such a great vibe. Modding cars, megapowered little shitboxes that crush Buggatis and stuff like that is just... better executed than FH5 and it somehow fits better. Also, all the grimy darkness of racing in canalisations and industrial complexes with (terrible) Rap blaring with the Police calling you a shithead is just kind of an intoxicating experience. FH5 is too polished and much too similar to FH4. Both are great games, don't get me wrong and I put hundreds of hours into them, but they get stale pretty quickly. Unbound encapsulates what NFS was supposed to be - stupidly over the top fun. So yes, I'm COMPLETELY with you on the Atmosphere section.
Who cares about the interior if your just racing, in FH5 the interior is pointless if you feel like your going the same speed Driving 200MPH in FH5 feel like I’m going 120
There is the type of people that say that It's a reskin of Heat and say that story is trash when they play FH5 with no story and a literal reskin of FH4 and nothing else
I love the races in NFS Unbound - but I can't stand the constant checkpoints - I want to be able to be creative in my racing lines not destroy my entire race by missing a small checkpoint by an inch.
Lots of cool turns and drifts w dope ramps. A lot more fun I guess it depends on if you wanna have fun and race or enjoy the graphics. I haven’t played either ever and nfs sold me and I bought it. And I’m a diehard fan for great graphics but listening to fh5 cars feel so earpeircing
Just checked and on my system it will only run at Low graphics around 30fps with dips below that during some points. The most disappointed I have been in a while
That’s cool and all, but the absolutely atrocious dogshit driving/handling physics of this nfs game, because they didn’t care to change it from NFS Heat, make Forza a better game. U can have all the customisation and crappy cartoon effects etc, but if cars handle like Scalextric and drift every time u even graze the brake pedal it makes it null and void. But hey, that’s only my opinion
@@Rellight I played nfs unbound for almost a week and stopped playing due to the abysmal driving physics and drifting in this game is pointless. Car sounds in unbound are also bad compared to horizon 5.Horizon 5 is a much better game and with the hot wheels dlc added to the game makes it a lot more enjoyable than nfs
I love need for speed the games the movie and all that stuff but the only thing I hate about unbound is the cartoon animations. That’s why I like a bit more but unbound is still on of my favorite game. Like forza as well but I think nfs games take it a bit farther. Tbh on street scenes in forza I wish there are cops
I don't like the music or Unbound or Heat's driving mechanics. Outside of Heat and Unbound's customization, I haven't enjoyed much since NFS Carbon. Well 2015 was alright
I literally only saw 1 interesting car in NFS in the footage you showed... 1... So no... I disagree, Forza has variety, nfs just has the stuff normies want.
well you can add getting the licensing for most of the bodykits lmao at least Forza pays to use them for example the kit that makes the eclipse look like paul walkers one from fast 1 is a apr kit but is not labeled as that and is labeled as a dev made one
i can aggree with map but not story, its racign gfame so u race i dotn wanna hit boxes competion and its not gta too u ghave gta for that. i think this guy is nfs militant:) i enjoyed horuzon and might get nfs too, but really if u are real driver, u wanna drive super arfz in hoprizon too, and graphic widse definetly horizon.in total il say its draw
Criterion def needs to REMAKE NFS Most Wanted. They clearly aimed for a quality game and for what I've seen from comments and reactions the game seems a great experience (minus changes and fixes that will eventualy come). But imagine Rosewood, Candem Beach and Rockport, with the same blacklist rooster but with a deeper story: interactions with racers and bosses, pinkslips races where you could lose your car, radio hosts like JV (since he's a DJ) narrating your progression through ranks, races and maybe the car youre seen with. It would be amazing to feel like the first time I played MW and immersed into that world.
