This clip is just a glimpse at how much of a profoundly positive effect Joe has had on the world. There have been over 700 phenomenal human beings on his podcast and Joe has undeniably helped bring their passions, thoughts and ideas to an innumerable amount of people. Thank you Joe and Jamie for everything you have done and will continue to do.
Probably I will be saying something that sounds like "what about" and I honestly think that it is a sign he really is a good person, I just wished he could also be moved more often by recent tragedies happening to humans. The fact that he frequently does not censure the acts of Donald Trump and of people who do the kind of things we've been watching these last weeks, makes me think that in fact he is not so moved by the death of people defending democracy as he is with the plot of stealing a walrus. And this comes from a person who has watched hundreds of hours of JRE and who does admire his success story.

I agree and I feel zoos are in the same boat, last time I visited a zoo over 5 years ago and you could feel the depression from the animals. It was a sad experience.
I remember watching the episode 8 years ago and thinking at the time.. Good on Joe to use his platform for this. Which i thought was huge then lol. More power to you Joe
It honestly takes a real man to not feel shame for his emotions and openly shed tears for important issues. Joe is a true example of how to be a man, and ALL the props, points, karma, and hopefully real money to this true hero Phil Demers and the work he's done. The world is a better place for having these two in it. You're both on my personal heroes list. 👍
Imagine if joe never saw that dm, man I think you tubers and celebrities rescaling out and talking with fans is so valuable and can make someone so much more personable

You can tell he’s a really good guy who cares deeply about this. It’s refreshing to see people who are doing something for a cause beyond themselves. I hope Joe helped him with his financial woes.
@@murfamurph Spotify app is glitchy on my setup and it won't allow me to play videos at a lower quality... they've got some serious beefing up to do on their media player
I applaud joe for his willingness to speak about difficult things and also giving people a voice. I also applaud his humanity, its good to see a man really feel emotions.
Thank you Joe for being you!!!! And eternal gratitude to the beautiful and always humble Phil Demers!! We love you man, and we will always stand with you!!
You must be new here. Watch michael Wood when he was talking about Tamir Rice, and then Ronda Rousey when she defended her belt... and again with Meisha Tate after she beat Holly Holm
stop acting like it is such a big deal. spotify is free. the podcast are free. I actually pay for spotify for music, but also pay for youtube premium. So I am not biased. If you enjoy his content, just follow the the new platform. Change is the way of the world, embrace it, or keep crying.
dont think we did..... i see the podcasts a few days later .... im NEVER going to download spotify .... unless facebook buys youtube then yes i will download spotify #forrealfuckfacebookitsgoingtorunourlivesjustwatch

Cause they paid a shit load of money to have it stolen from the ocean & transported. Money is THE only thing, that matters to these fcking monsters. 🤬🤬🤬
This guy got paid to exploit creatures for 12 years. Then he takes advantage again to make more money? He sounds like a scam artist. Probably why he has a hard time looking at people?

@@myblueheaven4424 I am confused I did not get the hit. It's a hit because you tried to hurt me or my words by attacking me, and not communication your position, thoughts ect, where I would then read your articulated words. Here I would have learned at least one thing because you would have informed me. But I don't what tree your barking up. If I think I read you right, you are saying how I probably don't care about the mouse in my trap or the shiny red plastic wrapped t bone, instead of seeing the old rod smash the scull, then hooked, slice, bled, gutted, skinned and on the line in bare minutes.. yes you have a point. EXCEPT. In hight school I worked in butcher shop to learn a dying trade, to respect the meat. I am going hunting for the first time for big game this summer with my recently required firearms license. Because we probably agree, that everybody that eats convenient butchered presented meat should know where their food comes from and should at least experience killing and gutting your food. It's very deep, rich and powerful connecting you to the living earth that is one. You see? You learned something about me and maybe where we agree, and I never called you an immature jackass I can't believe I wasting my time trying to be nice to you because you need to grow and learn a bit, just like me as we all are on this journey. hope your well buddy.
Yoooo dragon mountain? Was that the name of that coaster? U remember that so true that's were they sent us in Niagara bro marineland in the falls or African lion safari in steeltown
It's funny. Just two days ago I left a comment for Joe saying how much I appreciate his time and everything he has done for us all and for free. What a person and now after seeing him cry for the dolphin and what he said referring to their intelligence and that they are just different from us. I've been saying this a lot. So good to hear that a huge voice for the world is saying it and truly feels for these beings of life equal to us. Thank you Joe. I have respect but also love for your honesty and love for other beings
As a Canadian I grew up going to these places, it’s just insane realizing I helped people do this sort of stuff simply by being an interested kid and seeing my favourite animals. I’m glad somethings been done about it.
Orca whales are so intelligent they literally prevented the starving of several of us coast Salish tribes in northwest during ice age ...we were starving as we had become dependent on shellfish and sea lions were eating all the fish ...ice was out so far we couldn’t fish cuz sea lions getting them all ...until orcas began behead them throwing them on shore letting us know was safe to fish and live ...we are known forever as salmon peoples of killer whale clan as tribute to our brother who saved us ...OCM tigwicid ciya thank you friend
I appreciate your fight Phil! I wanted to be a marine trainer when i was a kid too! So glad I took a different path ... and after Blackfish and your doc, I refuse to go back to Seaworld ...
If you force close the app and reopen it's fixed (at least in my case). Spotify will do that to me if I've been letting in go for 8 hours while sleeping sometimes.
I'm Canadian and have family members that have worked at both. My aunt was the woman on top on the orca in the Marineland commercials in the 80's. My little Sis was a tour guide at African Lion Safari. Neither were involved with the handling the animals. Both left after they witnessed the abuse. Phil's a hero. We should all support him anyway we can. Thanks Joe for helping get the exposure needed to
That was awesome. What's a crying shame though is the fact that we can't get whole episodes on U-tube anymore. Has everyone really switched to Spotify?
I discovered JRE on youtube and I got YT premium to switch to listening to the podcast when I'm working easily. There's no way I'm switching to spotify. It just can't compete with youtube and it's crazy to me that it was mostly JRE that made me get premium in the first place.
I had the same opinion but I just got Spotify just for jr and it’s pretty easy. There are 3 skipable ads right off the bat then it’s normal. I work too and it’s nice on my battery to have my phone off, and it’s lighter on the data. I’m against the switch but don’t let it lock you out of good content. It’s really not that bad
It was specific individuals we should really thank. I hate to be 'that guy' but honestly it wouldn't be fair to the ppl who went through stuff to get it passed.
This hit me so hard in the heart! As soon as he said his name was Sam I tapped out! I can't, I'm so sorry! I'm going to give it a thumbs 👍 but my heart won't let me listen past 1:39.
Just know this guy's a hero and im happy 🇨🇦 now has laws against putting whales and dolphins in captivity. And thx Joe for giving him a platform to talk about it! Proud Canadian here 😎👍
No, just NO!!! We do not need more celebrities telling us how shitty we are from their ivory towers, where I heard from very reliable sources they bludgeon baby penguins and koalas then gorge on their still warm bodies. Sick bastards.
While I agree with him on his thoughts on dolphins and whales in captivity I am a bit torn on the big cats thing and making it illegal to have them in captivity...without having them in captivity they will be extinct in our lifetime...tigers in the wild are already almost gone...instead of having big cats in captivity made illegal maybe we should focus on laws for quality of life, such as minimum sizes for captive spaces, they type of foods they eat, and no forced mating...just a thought.
@@myblueheaven4424 keep thinking in such a negative way and you will stay the hateful person you are. Veganism will never be treated with respect with people like you in their ranks spreading hate rather than meaningful conversations (what this podcast is about)
What would be damning about that. It's literally the same thing. The true measure of a man is how he treats he who can do nothing for him. Abe lincoln or something
The best part the woke idiots would see it as lowering the slaves into equivalence with animals, not understanding the intelligence of those animals. Not to lower the slaves and compare them with dolphins, but to raise the dolphins and compare them with slaves on account of that intelligence. In India dolphins are legally declared as “non-human persons”. A description that makes no sense at first glance, but makes all the sense when you understand the creature.
Too bad pigs are only roughly as smart as a 3-year-old, if 3-year-olds were smarter joe would not advocate for their imprisonment and death. “The question is not, Can they reason?, nor Can they talk? but, Can they suffer? Why should the law refuse its protection to any sensitive being?” - Jeremy Bentham
@@Slayer119988 I’ve never seen a dolphin or any (intelligent) animal shape their environment, write a book or have reasoning skills So I would say no, slaves (any) slave was smarter than any animal on this planet now and forever
@@issacpearson4749 It does not imply at a that dolphins are smarter than a slave or any human for that matter. What it means is that dolphins are too intelligent to be held captive and forced to do tricks for food, held in sub par conditions. Second, they do in fact change their environment, giving other dolphins sea shells and corals as mating offerings, collecting bits of seaweed to play “catch” by passing it around or letting it sink so another dolphin can grab it (and this is observed in wild dolphins). Additionally when dolphins were trained to clean their tank by bringing pieces of debris to their trainer in exchange for food, the dolphins eventually got smart and realized they could break pieces off of certain tank debris like sponges to get more fish, saving the rest of the sponge to splurge on multiple fish treats on their own decided time, instead of giving over the whole sponge for one treat. They hunt in pods and scientists have identified that they have specific names for each other via their sonic calls, and consistently the correct dolphin responds when called. They coordinate with more intricate pack hunting tactics than wolves, because of how advanced their vocalizations are. Two of you requirements are fulfilled, shaping the environment and reasoning skills.
