If it makes you feel any better, they probably aren't able to work the registers until age 16 or 18, and child labor laws prevent anyone under 16 to work a full shift.
Kind of strange how most of these ads just show teenagers and old people working at fast food restaurants but nowadays you can find anyone from any age and background working there. Yet the majority of the population still has the 'fast food joint work is for greasy acne-faced teens' stereotype.
ilovettdarling Fresh faced teenagers and grandmotherly old women are more attractive to television viewers than actual fast food employees. Also, I bet that the age and demographics of those workers has shifted a lot in 30 years.
I wonder how many cheapskates actually bought their gfs the two piece ring set for $17 for proposal? Time Life Christmas reminds me of xmas at Grandma's with a housefull of relatives that we had gift exchanges from a hat. Ah, the memories. *sniff* actually miss those days.
That BK ad reminds me of those old 'only on TV' offers... where the voice actor keeps sweetening the pot with more features & repeating, "Now how much would you pay!?! Now how much would you pay!?!" (Those drove my father INSANE!)
And the companies were more petty, too. McDonalds banned a younger Sarah Michelle Geller for appearing in some of Burger King's Ads, even thoug she wasn't old enough to even understand why they would want to ban her. Her mom had to put a wig on her so she could go to McDonalds for a friend's birthday party.
Definitely before Hey Dude, as I think these commercials were her break. For a few years in the late 80's she was basically the official Burger King employee in their commercials. In Vol. 5 there's another one with her in it briefly.
The Regina Housekeeper was pretty unique in that it didn't have a standard on/off switch; it would turn on when you reclined the handle back or pulled out the hose for above floor cleaning. I don't know why they sold attachments separately from the vacuum; it doesn't make any sense.
Oh my God, the "14 Karat Gold" just brought me back to 1987. I didn't have any recollection of this infomercial until I heard it just now. Frightening.
are all of these Vol.'s from San Jose/Bay Area? growing up there this really takes me back....And its just commercials. and Doug Moore was the shit. he was the Ron Burgandy of San Jose.
I remember the Time-Life commercial like it was yesterday.... I even remember the song order, haha! How sad am I? At this point, who cares? Its great stuff after all these years
@thepsgamezone that is ok , and when i did get the message it made me smile. i am a horrible speller( as you can see from this reply) and your massage made my day thanks( in a good way
How long did the New Newlywed Game last? Jeez, it's like they have one for every decade. 70s - The Newlywed Game 80s - The New Newlywed Game 90s - The New New Newlywed Game 2009 - The Newlywed Game (GSN)
That Time Life Christmas commerical was played for so long and then stopped being aired. It was one of my favorite Christmas commericals because it was normally one of the first to be aired in November getting me in the Christmas mood. If anyone has the full commerical by itself PLEASE ADD IT!!
I have never seen a pastel pink vacuum before in my life. That vacuum just screams "I am an eighties vacuum"! The Wendy's pitch guy is DEF wearing a wig! And a poor wig, at that! The quesiton is, WHY?? That Time Life commercial- oh man, they still run it, the songs are in the SAME exact order on today's commercial, I know it by heart! Talk about getting a lot from your advertising dollars!!
Yes, these ads typically started to air in September/October back then The airdate is 100% confirmed by the news report about Henry Ford II’s death. He died on 9/29/87.
