These commercials aired on ABC in April of 1987 and on NBC on December 14th, 1986. Thanks to my cousin David for recording these.
1. Black & Decker
2. Lucky (Creepy Lucky guy is creepy)
3. Singapore Airlines (Try our two for one caning special!)
4. Taco Bell
5. Head & Shoulders (What a great jingle!)
6. The Sawmill (I always buy my furniture from a man with a horse. It's a sign of quality you can always be sure of)
7. Volkswagen Jetta
8. TV Spot for "The Aristocats" (I miss theatrical re-releases)
9. McDonald's (Probably the most memorable Christmas commercial of the 80's)
10. Promo for "A Year In The Life"
11. Lucky (Uh huh...)

I saw the re-releases of Bambi, The Jungle Book, Fantasia and Snow White. All memorable experiences, incomparable to anything viewed at home. Releasing their catalog on Blu-ray is the next best thing to theatrical releases I suppose.

The VW Voice-over is Bill Ratner in his early years before he V/Oed for TV stations.

Creepy Lucky Guy does not blink. I think that’s what is most disconcerting thing about him.

The guy was in the Ohio legislature and the only pictures they could find of him were his college swimming photos? How I wish I could have ice skated with Ronald McDonald as a kid! Of course, that would require me to live in a place where skating outside was possible. Also, having cartoon animals that seemed to have wandered in straight off the Disney backlot would have helped as well. I liked The Aristocats as a kid, but I don't think I've seen it since this re-release.

3:30--I remember seeing it on the big screen, but it was definitely before 1986. I was about 10 years old, give or take a year, so it would have been circa 1981.

Nowadays, clowns on ice skates make for nightmares, but that old McDonalds commercial was great. Remember it so well.

4:00--McDonald's has had a lot of great commercials over the years. This one features a nice instrumental version of their iconic 1980's jingle.

I think the grocery store I work at took the "if there's more than 3 in a line, we'll open another register" concept from Lucky.

0:29 and 5:21--I am not familiar with the Lucky chain. We don't have them in my home state of Iowa.

@MattTheSaiyan I've never had a problem with the phrase itself. It see it as a way of wishing a happy Christmas and New Year. It rolls off the tongue better as well. I also think people who work retail should be allowed to say "Merry Christmas" if they want to.

I agree on both counts. I sometimes wish people "happy holidays" myself, especially if I don't know their religious background. IMHO it's not de-emphasizing Christmas so much as trying to be all-inclusive, although I also think banning "Merry Christmas" is just plain wrong.

Back then, one station in my area had "Action News" and another had "Eyewitness News." Neither has used those brandings for some time now. I think that was more common in the 1980's than it is nowadays.

that Lucky commercial was very, very odd. It almost felt like an SNL skit or something! Mr. No-Blinking: "Uh- huh"... Dig the Taco Bell commercial- I don't think they even carry black olives anymore, much less nestle one on top of each burrito...anyone remember "taco light"? Those were the BOMB! 6:11- the last time the word Christmas appeared or was said on a television commercial!! Even McDonalds was using Happy Holidays by this time.
