I believe this is another video sourced from multiple days of cartoons, but I will update with a more accurate timeframe. Thanks again for your work in helping to date these.

"Mr. President" also starred Andre Gower, better known as Shaun from "The Monster Squad". And the guy in the Zelda commercial is John Kassir, better known as the voice of The Cryptkeeper on "Tales From The Crypt"

So did Caractacus Potts sue Whistlin' Pops for stealing his idea for Toot Sweets?

Ok, this was worth it for the ZELDA ad which is probably in the best quality I've seen it here! I liked it. Oh, and those "private eye glasses".

13:44- officer Barry the 'magic policeman ' and his bird 'nacho' can go pound sand.. I prefer officer Byrd, who just a few years earlier was the only bird/cop duo worth note. He rode his tiny bicycle right straight to my heart.

wow I think I remember those ads with the policeman and his parrot... definitely rings a bell. also I have no idea what nintendo was thinking with that ad, though I assume it didn't really affect sales at all. :P

ZapIt-in another universe that kid wouldve gotten a beatdown by the mailman LOL Tempest promo-had me thinking this was going to be a film adaptation of the classic Atari arcade game XD Mr.President-show also featured Mister Drummond himself,Conrad Bain and later Madeline Kahn(R.I.P)in supporting roles Micro Machines-hey it's the voice of Blurr from Transformers The Movie!

I remember longing for a Nintendo and The Legend of Zelda for Christmas that year, so somehow, that bizarre commercial must have worked on me. Can't see how...

I miss the old brown box design of Cookie Crisp, as well as the cop & robber (let's not forget the robber dog) characters. Also, the last Nintendo commercial was cringeworthy. It really didn't do The Legend of Zelda justice at all.

What's interesting is how each Looney Tunes package each have their own distinct titles: "Bugs and Daffy" "Porky and Daffy", etc..... I guess prior to 1990 when WB aired a bartered package under "Merrie Melodies" as a lead-in to Tiny Toons in most markets.

The long version of Fruity Marshmallow Krispies is btter. I've always hated the beginning of those Ghostbusters toys commercials. I have to wonder how they achieved that effect on the Spectra doll. I always found the curlers suddenly springing up along with the woman screaming to be a bit unnerving (then again, being a somewhat typical Girly Girl of the era, what do you expect?) I have that Kool Aid commercial on one of my tapes. It was during Wuzzles on ABC. I found it weird back then, and I find it weird now! Fruit Islands commercial is politically incorrect, but I think it's kind of catchy. I also believe it features the voice of Pop in the Fruity Marshmallow Krispies commercial (I forgot his name!)

Jeez, they really had no idea how to sell Zelda back then. What even was that? I wonder what ever happened to that guy in the commercial.

Who in hell puts a piano and organ ad during children's TV programming?
@80sCommercialVault

The assumption that each local business carefully plans what programs their ad will air during when buying ad space is faulty and proven wrong by many videos I've posted over the years.

@80sCommercialVault "What sort of black magic incantation would I have to cast to have George C. Scott as the President these days?" You know he's dead...it ain't happening lol ETA: I remember that show! I'm shocked that I do.
@miketroncin749

Of course he's dead. That's why you would need black magic for a re-animation spell.

3:00 toy gun without the federally mandated red or orange painted tip on the barrel. Looks like the kid is using an uzi to shoot his dad and the mail man (protected government worker). This kid would be going to jail in real life, probably actually getting shot by the cops thinking he was holding a real gun.
@80sCommercialVault
@80sCommercialVault 5 лет назад
That federal mandate didn't exist until 1992...five years after these aired.
