I remember that 1st commercial. If I didn't know any better, I'd think it was a modern day commercial it looked so up to date...but then I had to think, no commercials "today" would DARE to compel kids to go the LIBRARY!! lol

The movie Rooftops is pretty much what you think it's going to be. Favorite line: "Lobo, we gotta problem. The kid from the water tower is bustin' up the crackhouse!"

I've actually seen the movie Chances Are and it was a great movie. I know now of when it was made because of this video. And I I've seen the Perfection Spaghetti commercial before.

5:54--I don't recognize the Perfection brand for spaghetti, but the package design looks awfully familiar. Maybe it is/was sold under a different brand name in my part of the country, kind of like Hellman's/Best Foods mayonnaise?

The speghetti commercial and it's "speghetti doesn't grow on trees" plays on he fact there was a major "joke" article published that claimed that Italians few speghetti on trees, which apparently people started to believe or at least talk about.

And the Safeway spot (2:33) shows a lot of the fruit uncovered and unwrapped that is now usually in plastic, like the cherries, grapes, and even cut watermelon.

No, I have never come home to a note from my wife that said, "Yogi, you start dinner"!!' FROM IMBD: "Rooftops" T, as most of his friends, lives in a self-constructed 'house', built on top of an old building in the city. Their one passion is 'combat'. Combat is a dance/streetfight during which the contestants try to push each other out of the arena, while not allowed to actually touch each other. tagline: Rooftops. It's the only place to be. !!! Do they fight/dance ON the rooftops??

The girl with the chimps does the voice on Desperate Houswifes. On the first season her characer committed suicide, i think her name on the show is Mary Alice.

I always associate him with my favorite "kiddie" show--"The Electric Company," which aired on PBS in the 1970's and early 80's. Sadly IMHO, unlike some of the other cast members, he's not particularly proud of his involvement with that show.

I bet the spaghetti tree ad was a callback to a famous BBC April Fool's joke. When it came on cable about a year later, I remember eagerly watching Skin Deep (Blake Edwards RIP), thinking it would be basically a porno. Instead, it's a comedy-drama about a guy having a midlife crisis. Yawn. BTW the "glow in the dark" tagline refers to the most famous scene in the movie. I'll let you all check out Wikipedia to find out. :) Nice that you have to Europe to get your free ticket. I'll pass
