Soo true and the best cereal with the toys in the box wow kids are now have to deal with the crazy moms who say that has sugar so it's bad (yes I agree but it was fun as a kid that got that at least once a wk) but im probably wrong but I'd luv to live my 80s childhood again..I lived thru cabbage patch kids and rainbow Brite and care bears and id love to do it all over again

I wish these toys will all be in Walmart right now! I’m 10 years old and I really wish I lived in the 80’s because of my favorite show “full house” and because the toys look so much fun. 😔

Oh my God, it’s almost sad, I remember all of these toys, and Jem was one of my favorite cartoons, and reading rainbow 🌈 and Fame, was a couple of my favorite show. I can remember right where I was, without a care in the world besides school! At least I can show my daughter a a little bit of the simple life!

If this was recorded on March 1, 1987 (based on the ad for Easter Seals Telethon on March 8, 1987), then the Sci-fi movie playing immediately after Jem on KTXH was The Body Snatcher

If someone told me back in the day that men and teen boys would be obsessed with My Little Pony I'd have laughed hysterically in their face!. Back when I was a kid in the late 80s/90s we relentlessly made fun of girls who liked it.

Wow, 11 minutes of commercials in a half hour. It seems like a lot, but then I consider how things are going and realize that in another 30 years or so, somebody who's ten now, like I was when these ads came out, will look back at the programming of today and go "Wow, 11 minutes of actual programming in a half hour. Remember when that seemed short?". And I agree, it's too bad this tape cut off when it did. I would've liked to know that sci-fi classic they were showing that day, too.

They're from two different days. It was pretty common back then for kids to record an entire tape full of their favorite show, adding to it each consecutive day. That's how most of my childhood tapes of "The Real Ghostbusters" are, and a lot of the tapes I've come across are also like that.

I'm surprised you didn't make fun of the My Little Pony commercials like you usually do. I'm not complaining, because MLP was one of my favorite toys growing up. I'm just surprised.

I didn't play with them at all back then so I don't have much to say from personal experience really. I remember girls at my preschool played with them and my sister had a few. I remember they had a funny perfume smell to them, similar to WD-40 for some reason LOL. Whenever the TV show came on I instantly changed the channel, but I watched the movie as a kid with my sister and it's actually one of my favorite 80's cartoon movies. Nothing can stop the Smooze!

2:34 must have been hard to film just right. Also the 3D graphics back then had to have been difficult to create and animate with the technology then.
