--4--4 KRON-TV San Francisco-San Jose Oakland! BTW, the news promo was shortly after KRON swtiched out of News Image plus in June of that year and they have this majestic theme by Klein &, the same people behind the campaign "That's What a Friend is 4" produced in 1988-1989. Thanks so much for posting!

God, IF only they will build a Time Machine so I can go back to the 80s before I was born in 1986.

@SidJustice22 If your copy is complete and of decent quality, you should work on converting it to DVD. The only complete version floating around is not the best quality.

I also forgot another note here, Jim Paymar was in his last year at KRON during this time, as he would leave the station at the end of 1987 and would be later replaced by Bob Jimenez which stayed with the station until 1990 when both Sylvia and Bob left and Pete Wilson/Suzanne (Saunders) Shaw took over.

I have this recorded as well! "Disney's Monster Hits" was one of my favorites when I was a kid.

I used to live in the San Francisco Bay Area (I lived in San Jose), so that's nostalgic for me. I also remember Monster Hits right well! My parents had it recorded on a tape consisting of holiday-themed specials and such: Halloween, Thanksgiving (only A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving) and Christmas.

It was sometime from 1989-1990.

I don't know what happened, but I know that Jim Paymar moved to KOMO 4 ABC in Seattle after he left KRON and later on, moved to CNBC.

Would you be willing to upload your copy? I've been looking for DTV Monster Hits with the commercials for years.

Ah for the honest days of Reagan and the Cold War (semi-sarcasm). I remember those Tyco R/C cars and their "turbo" option, which even then struck me as funny since everyone just pushed it to "turbo" anyway. What kid would race his r/c car in regular speed while his friend sped past him in turbo?

7:28--Did he say "BankAmeriCard" in this commercial? I didn't know that existed in 1987. I'm just barely old enough to remember BankAmeriCard being the forerunner of today's Visa credit card, and the change took place in the mid-70's when I was just a kid. Then again, this ad mentions California, and I'm not from that part of the country, so maybe the BankAmeriCard of the 80's was a regional thing.

I knew that "Highway to Heaven" commerical was familiar right away. That was also on my recording of DTV Monster Hits special.

And 23 years later, Pepsi is STILL chasing Coke! I do like both, though.

Had completely forgotten "Our House" as well as Bar None. And that loser Richard Grieco was in one of the promos. Wonder whatever happened to him after his 18 failed attempts at stardom???

I don't think it's Barry Gordon. Gordon's voice was a lot higher-pitched, IIRC

Even though my preference of soda was Coke, Pepsi always had the better commercials.

1:43--One of several Pepsi commercials of the day that featured an 80's hit with the original artist! (Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" also comes to mind here.)
