4:22 - I always associate cruise commercials with the 80s, because they were played so much during the breaks on the Evening News that my family would watch during dinner. Carnival and Royal Caribbean were the two big ones I remember, and they left a large impression on me. I always begged my parents to take us on one, but we never got to go. It was a lifelong dream that finally got fulfilled two years ago when I took my girlfriend on a Caribbean cruise in March of 2018 in order to celebrate her birthday and our dating anniversary (both are 3 days apart from each other). We sailed on the Norwegian Escape, and we both fell in love with the experience. It was the most relaxing vacation we had ever been on. We'll be taking another cruise May 22nd to the 29th. This time, we're sailing to Alaska, and will be on Royal Caribbean's Ovation of the Seas. Sorry for the lengthy comment, but seeing this cruise commercial stirs up a lot of memories of one of my dream vacation as a kid (the other being Disney World, which we got to do twice as a family), and how seeing this particular commercial brings up both nostalgia, and anticipation for our upcoming trip.

At least you were able to take the 2018 one before the Coronavirus hit. Has the May one been rescheduled?

@@bethdibartolomeo2042 Sorry, just now saw your comment here! Yes, we are taking an Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Symphony of the Seas December 11th to the 18th of this year. We'll be visiting different islands than last time.

I can sometimes get a bit tearie eyed remembering some of these commercials but they're still better than some of the junk these days. Keep up the good work.

I really remember watching "The Bad Seed" when is originally aired in '85 (I was 10 so I know it didn't originally air in '88) I never saw it again. They remade it for TV again a couple of years ago I may try to find that version to watch soon!

I remember the drought of 1988 (as mentioned in the ABC News brief) and all summer long The Weather Channel had all sorts of stories and special coverage about it.

Pat Morita sounding more than a little like Mr. Miyagi to sell toothpaste....(and that's Fred Gwynne with the VO at the end). And listen to the V/O of Joan Lunden promoting GMA at the Democratic Convention in Atlanta in the end credits "..and we'll talk to Rob Lowe and find out why he's going to that big event." Surely it wasn't to make a sex tape that sabotaged his movie career.

Big Red-girl in the photo booth is actress Troy Beyer..also i dont blame those carpool guys for driving off..if guy getting kissed was making me late for work id do the same The Bad Seed-"CHRISTINE!!!" presumably got the drop on her mother.. Post Natural Bran Flakes-Blanche Devereaux's brief acting gig as a cereal pitchwoman Preparation H-probably was lying to his wife to get out of said surgery Carefree-maybe this ad shouldve been shown only at night.. McDonald's McD.L.T-they should do a similar promotion w/ their hamburgers for Top Gun:Maverick this summer X-14-sounds like the name for a ship from a Gerry Anderson tv show Nestea-if he hadnt imagined the water there he'd have a minor back injury The Oprah Winfrey Show-Everyone,that's who Creamettes-hopefully Steve from the Miracle Whip commercial used this brand of pasta for his salad
