Our cars get shit from the car community (fwd, small stock turbo, etc) but there's a handful of tuners/shops out there who only mess with our platform and know their shit so speed3's can make reliable power when the right people are involved in the build

O yeah. Speed 3/6 and ST stock blocks with built internals can withstand +650whp all day. And some sleeves and you're into the +1000whp range (for the Mazda platform, it'll be a while before the ST Platform gets to 4 digit HP number.)

It's obvious in the video.. 800whp ms6 weighs similar to a 5.0.. if the 5.0 makes 650-700 like most 91-e85 it would have had trouble. the colt kept up decent until ms6 top end came around.

Yeah. Speed6 is a 2.3l 4banger bud. The only difference between a Speed3 and a Speed6 is one is FWD, the other AWD. Even the short ass gearing is the same for both cars. Lol

The 3.0 v6 isn't a great engine to build as they don't have a lot of room to grow, nor are they reliable when making power, which is why so few are even kinda fast unfortunately

My friend builds Mazda speeds he loaned me a speed 6 that he picked up for 1500 put 200 bucks into it to get it running I drove it for a week. Killed a scat pack challenger a 2018 charger rt a 300c hemi and a newer 5.0. that was a stock car over 250k miles. with a tune.. intake and cut stock exhaust..they are rare but quite a mean little car for what they are..

I drive a 6MPS as a daily (256HP OG RHD JAP version of the speed6) and all it has in common with a v8 is flue consumption... LOL

As a fellow 6 MPS owner (car nr 956 in production as it started as I found out), I stand up to that. That's due to engine running in Open Loop I think for "emissions" purpouse. Even though mine was very well mantained and had until 160.000km service book all done at Mazda, wasn't beaten and all, she likes to drink fuel like a V8 if you floor it a bit :) Normal driving I average 21-23mpg (10-11l/100km) but if i floor it on Autobahn she is going at 17-18mpg (13l/100km) and that's highway fuel consumption. That's okish I guess, what I don't like on 6 mps is the build quality and sound proofing or the lack of it. Compared to my other car BMW E39, driving the 6 mps is like driving a wheelbarrow.

@@eEnzo0 Wow you must be lucky or mine is really buggered, I Get 20-28L/100km in town driving 40-60kmph and 12-18L/100km open road driving 120-150kmph.😬 Just passed 100 000KM on the clock... And yea as for build quality mine is a rattle box LOL. FYI 2006 model.

@@noobhacker101, mine is 193k km, she had no valve cleaning done (i plan to do this soon), city driving I get around 13-17L on average (over 17 if I floor it hard) and on Autobahn because Germany :evil: , I usually get between 10 and 12 depending on the speed. Max speed I went with her was 240km/h on tacho and I had almost a qarter of gas pedal left. ITV22 spark plugs gapped at 0.8mm because it's not tuned (lower the gap if she has more boost). I am new to Mazda but let's say I'm an old-ish fox when it comes to engines/maintenance/optimizing. I've solved a bit the problem with confort/drone sound by sound-proofing her on the underbody. ‘06 Speed6. I WOT daily and average 22mpg, mostly city driving. High 20’s on highway cruising. Estimated high 300’s whp when I ran out of injector. Never been on a dyno.
