80s Commercial | Where's the Beef | 1984 

I went to Wendy's drive-thru and my friends and I yelled "Where's The Beef?" and the lady working the drive-thru started cracking up....glad we could make someone's night a little more positive

The way she slapped that horn and belted out "WHERE'S...." right before they slammed the window shut LOLOL

This was back when a commercial was almost as entertaining as a TV show or movie! They don't make them this good anymore! A great flashback!

The one responsible for developing this commercial was a guy named Cliff Freeman, who recently passed away in September of 2021. I worked at his Advertising Agency. A gentleman and a very funny guy.

Supposedly, she was invited to a beef farmers convention as the guest of honor. She walked to the podium and next to it was an enormous beef patty. She looked at it, then shouted into the microphone, “Where’s the bun?!”

The commercials back then were so wholesome. These bring back so many memories of my childhood.

I watched this 3 times in a row and 0:10 cracks me up every time. I miss these old commercials.

I remember this commercial well!! I was 14 years old in the eighth grade.I remember reading about her.Clara Peller was her name. Great times and great commercials then.The food tasted better then as well. Thank you for sharing this with us.

This commercial really resonated with a lot of people. It was funny, relevant, and very true. Things started to change with their competitors.

LOVE this commercial- Glad I found it on YT. Sarah is driving a 1949 Chrysler Royal- the same as my 1st car. Asked my dad to find a car older than 1960. He found this 4 door Chrysler sedan in 1974. I got my license in '75. At school, they called it 'The Refrigerator' or 'Moby', since it was so hugh & repainted white. It still had the original mohair (lt brown) interior covered with clear plastic covers- could seat 4 in front & 4 in back! Had a cast iron straight 6 & fluid drive (clunk-o-matic) trans, & a 6 volt POSITIVE ground electrical system. Had OPTIONAL heater & an AM tube radio which had to 'warm up' before it played. Wish I still had it :-( RIP- Sarah- "Where's the beef?" & the car is CLASSIC!!

I'll tell ya....the 70s and 80s had the best commercials.....

I don't care if it's the year 2021 or if it's the year 9999, I'm always going to like this commercial. I mean come on it's the old lady driving a car and asking where's the beef how can you not like the commercial.

Clara deservedly received a lot of notoriety for her part in these ads, but the other elderly ladies definitely deserved credit, too. It's too bad they weren't equally as famous.
