G'day mate! Just want to thank you for your video. Some reprobate smashed the passenger window of my LHD '97 Lexus LX450. Among other things they took some Metalica,BeeGees and Billy Bragg Cassettes. Your video was exactly the information that I needed. The next business day I got a used window , complete with bottom metal carrier and rubber seal nicely attached from a local Land Cruiser specialist. With the interior panel previously removed and the glass vacuumed out (careful those little shards need extra attention) and carefully cleaning and silicone spraying the window (who was"Bailey"?) slides, the cleaned new glass panel slid into place exactly as you showed. Getting the 2 screws that hold the glass carrier to the lifter need to be lined up carefully, but with the 10mm socket and extention, it was easily done. The dooe panel went back on easily, I used a heatgun gently on the plastic fasteners, to remove 2 which were stuck to the door and reattach them to the pan, warm up those fasteners and the panel will go on quite easily.. A few screws and connections and Bob's yer Uncle! Hope you are well and your vehicle is still giving good service. Thanks Again
Hi I've just found your channel and was wondering if you can help me. I have an 80 series 1992 model and having issues with the front DS window, the metal plate in the middle of the channel that I noticed in this video holding the window @ 4:09 (spot welded to the back of the greased up runner/bar) on my window is getting caught and bent and the window does no longer come up or down. Do I need this, can I remove this or do you have a suggestion to help me fix this issue? NB my window does not sit on this like it does in your video and also my windows are not electric windows. TIA Tim.
hi mate I have a 93 80 series and the drivers window front bailey channel that goes down the side of the mirror has come loose do you know how to tighten it cheers
WHY DOES HE KEEP SAYING ''YOU'LL NEED 2 HANDS TO DO THIS'' - is that just in case theres any 1 arm folks watching hoping they could pull this off when they clicked on the video - i guess now they know they're going to have to call a friend - youve been warned 3 times
Can you show how to remove the liner. I was able to remove all the bolts but then the liner I was not able to pull it out. Didn't want to brake anything either. Thank you
Once you have taken the screws out, all you need to do is leaver the liner off the door. They use plastic clips which in some cases will come off the with liner and all you have to do is push them back in.
