1:22 It seems Master Lock forgot to test their 141 with this tool. It took longer to get it open than other locks. They forgot to add enough vulnerabilities!
You joke but is probably a large part of his success. No stupid intro that gets old after seeing it twice. No bullshit fluff to get to the 10 minute video length mark. Just the information you need/want presented intelligently. Man do i love this channel
any hot tips? do you adjust the 'throw' or how much tension pressure vs standard picking? -- I'm at 2 hrs of playing and can only get a few cheap china master lock copies - but not a real master lock yet..
I bought one of these a year ago, first time I used it, the lock didn't open and there was brass powder everywhere. This a user error not a hardware issue as it is (like most things German) incredibly well built.
I finally got one of these and it does work but you actually have to already be good at lockpicking for them to open this quickly. It took me about 7 minutes to open a 3 pin masterlock without having ever picked up any type of lockpicking tool before. There is still some guesswork involved in using this tool for the first time.
@@jonarbuckle1102 given that locksmiths are notorious for charging ridiculous hourly rates they can make their money back plus interest after like 2 clients.
@@thatdude5104 Yea that's just a whole different set of problems..not to mention require power. Seems like both are engineered with only keeping out people who are completely ignorant to the basic principles in mind. You guys probably already know this, but in case it could help anyone else reading- at least where I am they usually just kick in the door and the small amount of cheap wood behind the strike is what usually gives. Can have an unpickable lock but if it's in 1/2" of soft wood it won't do much good.
Few to none, most would just break the window, smash the lock to bits, cut it out, rake and scrape, very physical methods than carefully picking and being all sneaky, hell even after someone breaks a window with a rock or door with a crowbar the victim is still sleeping unaware.
Picks/opens 9 locks in 2 minutes 10 seconds!! Unbelievable. I think this machine takes all the fun out of picking locks. It’s definitely a time saver and a great tool to have. 👍🏻👍🏻
OK after Watching this guy for a 2 am video I kept getting recommended videos of him. I must stay it's fascinating for someone who never knew about this discipline, my girlfriend attempted to pick the lock of the apartment and I'll make some tools to pick the car
I just watched another guy make 1 of those with a battery operated toothbrush he made into a pick gun BUT only after watching it vid did I understand what he was doing & why it worked cheers
I don't understand how I'm sooooooo involved in your videos. I don't know shit about picking. But you make me wanna go try picking a storage unit LMAO. You're very good and bias. Cool channel
Just look through the videos, anything taking longer than 5 minutes for this guy is a good lock. The lobojack, the abus rock, kryptonite ks82, fahgettaboudit for bicycles, video number 471, 636 for entrance doors, the viro blocca catena is very impressive, and as always pointed out by Lock Picking Lawyer, other forms of forced entry are always just as important as the locks themselves. The guy uses kwikset for his front doors, and he is a locksport enthusiast! So secure your windows and door frames first.
@Roderick storey Yup. The main vulnerability for a bike lock or padlock isn't picking, it's bolt cutters and angle grinders. The main vulnerability for your house is largeish rock cause turns out rocks are really good at opening windows. The main vulnerability for your car is a small chip of ceramic on the end of a punch, cause tempered glass falls apart when you hit it with that. You might want to avoid locks that can easily be defeated by low skill attacks like raking, but otherwise it doesn't matter. You pretty much only do something like single pin picking of a lock because you care about not destroying what you're opening (And someone trying to break in does not care about your windows) or because it amuses you to do it.
@@markifi I have Kwikset as well. I also have glass at ground level, so nobody's gonna waste time on the front door. My dogs take a rather dim view of people who don't belong in the house though.
Good video as always Harry. But would like to see this used on a majority of non-master locks. We know many of those can be opened with a stern look. It does look like a fun new toy though...
That was really funny the way you accidentally hit the button right when you said the name of the lock twice in a row. I think that says a lot about the motions of what you are doing with your hands and how that is tied in with the way you are speaking.
Good to see this in action as i been thinking about getting one. But would be good to know if these locks had serrated pins or spools if not be good to see if it can open locks that do have them. If it can open 99% of locks it would be well worth the money.
Is this basically the same as a raking attack or is this something else? Love your vids so much. Where do you get all of your picks and tension wrenches? Is there a site you go to?
how well do you think an oscillating multi tool would work of this as they seem to have a similar motion? These tools seem to be everywhere now for fairly cheap, and a blade could be easily modified to be the shape of a pic.
i think it would be a interesting video to compare your electric lock picker to a homemade electric tooth brush one as far as speed etc btw there is a youtube video on the building of one using nothing but a Dremel pr rotary tool which you can buy really inecpensively online or at Harbor Freight i bought a pretty decent sized kit off ebay brand new for around 30 dollars to replace a Dremel one that went missing and it works just as well as the Dremel brand did IMO
I really like your videos, but this time it lacks the information I would have expected: Which locks can and which locks can't be opened. Also, is the pick gun better/worse than others (or is it your first)? The locks you presented here could probably also be opened by a potato too and there are tons of videos like that where a person opens crappy locks with some electric pick gun. Could you tell us, where you think the limit of such pick guns is? Or some personal thoughts on that specific pick gun?
Excellent comment. Here may be the explanation. This video is posted on the Kronos website! Also, I have this exact same Kronos and it cannot open any of my several American brand locks which have security pins.
I forgot which youtuber that is, but i remember someone making such a lock picking tool with a oral b electric tooth brush. That thing works on a single aa battery and available in every supermarket.
I have one of these among others…. I own a mobile locksmith business, and I may use this I may handpick I may rake or lishi it just depends how I feel when I pull up on a job 😂
This is your most "un-technical" of your videos to say this, but ... man you're good ! It would be fun if you can use a phone vibration with a straight pick to simulate the rattle or to do "semi-assisted" raking, I guess for some simple 5 pin without security pins it may actually work and it would be a great video :)
Hiya awesome video, I was wondering your opinion on which multipick to buy, and which ones better, out of this Kronos or the Artemis and which one came out first? From what I understand the Kronos is the older model? But is the Artemis as powerful? Sorry for all the questions I’m stuck on which one to get there’s not a huge amount of info on the Artemis
IMPORTANT PSA: Know that they have purposefully made it hard to find replacement batteries for these by deleting the branding on the batteries on later units. Know that this uses standard 18650 protected button top batteries, any rated for 10A or more will work, but if you want the exact model used in this it is a 2900mah Keeppower model rated for 10A. They charge $18 per battery in the store, which is insane considering these same Keeppower batteries can be bough for $7-8 each in a normal battery store. If you look at earlier reviews you will even be able to see the Keeppower logo on the 2900mah batteries, this has since been removed but the 2900mah battery has stayed the same. They also just call them "650" batteries instead of "18650", again to further confuse uninformed buyers.
I have a Kronos and in my initial tests, found it limited to locks with pretty loose tolerances. I tried on a few Schlage locksets and after a lot of trying, couldn’t get them to open. Also worried me that I started seeing a lot of brass dust from the pins after a couple minutes of trying. I’m sure these will eventually damage the lock. LPL, I’d like to see some examples of more tricky locks opened with this. Maybe I’m not using the correct technique.
