Imagine you're at home, relaxing in bed at night. Suddenly you hear a noise at the front door..."nothing on one...binding on two...nothing on three...".
Yell through the door: "Don't bother! I have a crossbar on this side!" Then you hear from the other side: "Most people find crossbars to require extreme force, however I've found that a simple modified tool *a razor thin hook slides through your door* does the trick."
I would feel so much safer at home if i heard that because most locks just open in fear of the LPL. So if it took more than 20-30 seconds to pick for him, i would equate that 20-30 minutes for us mortals.
HA! I used the same lock on my door. I did swap the pins before that tho, and my door had drill protection plates over the lock. I used to sell these locks in my shop, and since they were pretty cheap (~20 usd), for an additional fee i did the same upgrade for my customers. And one of them did the job, there was a complaint that the lock didnt work a week after i mounted it, so i went to take a look and found a broken pick tip inside it. I was so happy that it withstood the attack.
@@roysammons2445 if you are asking for the lock, its neither of those, high security doors are very common around my shop, so the only thing you need to worry about is someone picking the lock because its protected inside the armored mechanism, and theres a tiny slit for the key on a thick steel spinning cap. If you manage to go through all that a snap resistant lock wont help much.
@@jamesbizs Naw she was a sweet young lady and she was so worried she did something wrong that she didnt even notice the key doesnt go all the way in. I did crack a massive grin tho when i saw what was inside the lock.
He should find all the ways to open the combination lock from happy meals a few years age I think it whould be hilarious what do you think. here is a link to the picture of the lock bricker.info/images/parts/clikits096.png
Yeah, I was really surprised at his conclusion of "there are definitely better options". I mean, I guess there are similar locks that are better, and maybe this one's price means you'd never consider it for common usage? It's clearly more secure than most of the locks that get reviewed here.
@@totlyepic right? Also consider that while kneeling against a real door where you can't wrap your hand around the backside of the lock to comfortably hold the tension wrench, and you can't use both your hands to manipulate and twist the lock/pick against each other, and other environmental conditions, this would be 5000% harder to do on a real door. Also LPL has picked thousands of locks, far more than I guarantee any thief ever will. This lock is beyond adequate. A burgler will just knock the door frame off the wall before they would ever go through this trouble.
mlnlme1 Well knocking off your door frame is a guaranteed way to make a lot of noise fast. In a suburban area that would get the cops called on you pretty quickly. However nobody is going to notice someone sit there for two minutes to pick a lock - I’d even bet you could sit there for 20min. If they don’t have to sit there at least 30min, bust out an angle grinder, or bust down the door it may as well not be locked at all to anyway with the patience, knowhow, and tools.
Very little drill protection. Questionable snap protection. Reasonable pick resistance. Not really a good lock if you're relying on it to secure your house.
A simple google search led me to the conclusion that this lock was not made in China. Pieces could be procured by Chinese firms but it is definitely assembled in Istanbul, Turkey.
@@danieldortch2047 trust me, you can't. I tried. These guys make it look easy, in reality you end up bending the pick in frustration even on the cheapest locks :) I realize now that lock picking is a spectator sport.
The word "Kilit" on the title means "lock", it's not necessarily part of the model or brand name. So you can switch that word to "lock". Regards from Turkey :)
Those pins are very cute little bullets. Also LPL, I would like to see how you re-arrange those pins & springs after gutting a lock. That'll be helpful.
Hi, I bought a new lock for my dads back door as at 89 years old he is not as well as he used it be, What I wanted was a keyed lock with a turnbuckle on the inside so that he could not lock us out, he had a fall and because his key was in the back of the lock we had to break a window to get in. When I went to the locksmith to get some more keys I was told that the code on my key had to be sent to Italy, and then he would then get another code back that would enable him to cut the new keys. As a result of this, I had to wait 3 days before I could get the extra keys, and they cost me about twice as much as normal keys. I am glad that it took you a few more seconds than normal to pick this lock
Enjoy the channel, one thing that always comes to mind is that you regularly say there are better lock than the ones you are picking, would love to see a video outlining some of your favourite locks in the game/the most high security ones available in your opinion
The most interesting thing about this vid and then cruising the comment section, was discovering the Turkish presence on this channel/lock sport is ... HUGE next to what I would've guessed!
Good afternoon lock picking lawyer, I've been a subscriber to your channel for a while now I enjoy watching all your videos you've inspired me to expand what I do in my free time( I just shimmed my first trailer tongue lock yesterday with a hose clamp I got the biggest s*** eating grin on my face when the bottom just fell out) I was wondering if you have a second Channel or would consider starting one for putting these locks back together. I realize it probably won't be as popular as this one but I've learned quite a bit from you over the past few months and I'm sure I could learn even more watching you put them back together. Thanks in advance if you decide to respond I hope you have a great day
I typed "most secure lock" and this is the first video that popped up, after a few second of watching I noticed that this is our house lock, I feel more secure now.. awesome😁
If someone is picking your door and you hear clink clink clink you’re probably fine. If you hear clink clink clink “Click out of one, nothing out of two, click out of three...” then you know The Lockpicking Lawyer is coming for you
Hi, I'm a viewing all the way from Turkey and feel that the title is misspelled, since "kalit" is not a Turkish word. I think that it's either "kilit", which means lock, or "kalite", which means quality. Hope this helps!
Pronunciation for the Italian model SECUREMME is SECUR "AEMMAE" and the "aemmae" stands for the letter M in italian which is the double first letter of Mario Malighetti, the owner of the company. (so instead of SECUR MALIGHETTI it is only SECUR M)
@@GabryJ84 also "secure me" is not a phrase you would hear in italian , while "me" means the exact same as in english "secure" doesn't have a direct correlation to any verb
@@Tjalve70 it means "safe" and it's an adjective, there is no verb equivalent, the closest thing is "mettere in sicurezza" which means " to make something safe" more or less, while for "protect" you have a 1:1 equivalent in the verb " proteggere"
When you are excited because you see a LPL video that is nine minutes long. But soon realize the bulk of the vid is showing the lock taken apart! Love the vids!
@@MisterJackTheAttack Agreed, but if your "high security lock" takes 2 minutes for a picker, then it's not very secure. There are locks that take a lot longer to pick or is even unpickable, so if the benchmark for calling it high security is 2 minutes, then the bar has not been set very high.
Nope, he's like a superhero. You can look him right in the face, listen to him talk, watch him pick a lock in front of you while arguing a court case; you'll think"wow! You could almost be the Lock Picking Lawyer. You know, if you weren't mortal."
One day I’m watching gun videos. Next day I’m watching LPL? I’m hooked. Now I go shopping for a lock and I’m like nope, nope, where’s the LPL certificate?😂👍👍Awesome videos
When you do this kind of videos and the product is not that good, is it possible to offer a good alternative at a similar place on the spot? It goes something like "this is advertised as a high security lock but there are other better products in this price point, like the product X" Great videos other than that!
Watching his videos, I've learned that the Avocet ABS was the one that made him work the hardest (most steps) and required even a special little magnet to pick. No way that any regular picker would bother with all that. However, the one that he couldn't pick and one of much simpler construction was the Bowley. Someone else picked it but that required a ridiculously complicate custom picking setup. Even then, the Bowley required that the picker pick his way back out or lose his fancy equipment stuck in the lock. I'm going with the Bowley.
@@danielkorladis7869 And expansive one :| I think they've got two product and the cheapest one is 150 USD, and each suppl. are like 20$ a piece. But, yeah, they look legit :)
I'd definitely like to watch how he would pick this lock installed inside the actual door where there's no tactile feedback to his left hand. And a surround noise level is an actual street.
I blame Skyrim etc for my finding your videos. Why I keep watching them I have no idea, I've even got my Nephew watching them now too. Never have I picked a lock, and I probably never will, yet, here I am watching again.
Fairly common locks in Iranian apartment locks when I was there for a visit. Can't tell if they've been modified so that extra pins actually come into play, but I'll have a look when I go back.
Love watching your vids, the flat machined area is also common when drilling along a radius....one line of drill holes is fairly easily aligned on the peak but two rows the drill would walk down the radius
i watch your videos like i am solving math questions. i say mostly if i give 2 minutes for. problem, an avarage student can solve this problem in 6 or 7 minutes 😂 i see that my door lock can be opened in 2 minutes by LPL and i am sure that any thief try to open it 😂😂 greetings from turkey 👍🏻
Hey LPL I got my first set today, a basic 17 piece Dino, seems ok. The first thing I noticed is how tired my fingers get on the tensioning tool after quite a bit of practice. Love the vids!
Even though he recons this lock will be challenging, he opens it up in far below 2½ minutes. It is just like with these security pins and false gates, LPL and rare lock pickers with his skills seem to always advocate that locks should be fitted with security pins and false gates ... but such extras never deter LPL (and his rare peers) to open locks that ARE equipped with them just as quickly and with just as much ease!
So I've been thinking about this for a while and I believe I've come up with what would technically be an unthinkable lock. The most keys are single-sided, maybe double-sided, so I'm thinking a triple-sided key with 10 pins per side for a total of 30 pins. The lock has two keys, and both keys have to be turned at the same time but at different speeds. Basically the goal is to make it require way more mechanical input then someone could physically do. The only thing left at that point was just be making sure that they made it out of something other than paper mache so you couldn't just bust it open
Can you do another turkish brand ? Especially "Kale"( which means fort btw.) I have been using that brand for years and one time i called a lockpicker they told me that series so hard to pick they wouldnt give service to me.
Might I recommend trying to pick a MUL-T-LOCK. They are fitted so that if you lose a key you can insert another one to lock that key out. This would imply if you tried to pick it, it would lock the original key out. Unfortunately each key costs like £20 so I don’t know if you want to spend that kind of money on this kind of lock but it may give you a challenge... tbh you’ll probably open it instantly 🤦♂️
If you see this, I believe this is the lock that I would like you to try and pick: www.mul-t-lock.com/en-GB/site/mul-t-lock/products/cylinders/cylinders/euro-cylinder/
Dylan Brockman - I always see LPL as a purist. He’s got amazing technique because he examines and understands each lock. I’ve no doubt he could pick a dozen of these in a row without seeing a key. Other locksporters have more of a practical background from being locksmiths or law enforcement and so perhaps don’t approach with the same level of clinical technique but, make no mistake, I’d stack LPL against any of them even if the lock was a mystery and a key not seen. If you check some of his older videos when he was starting out in lock sport, he made pretty short work, (for the most part), of some tricky challenge locks from the likes of Papa Gleb and Texas Jim. Seeing a key is definitely not a must for him to be able to pick the lock. You should check them out. It’s remarkable how very little has changed except from an increase in production value.
being able to see the key really only helps when the lock has some kind of unusual aspect to it (like the 2 rows of 5 pins in this lock) since you have to feel your way through the lock rather than see what you're doing. Someone like LPL, who has had his picks in just about every kind of lock imaginable, would only need a moment of digging around the lock to feel whats going on inside.
@@adamwest8711 I'll check them out, thanks! From the videos I've seen I have little doubt this is the case. We can all disregard @f lucifer's rude comment.
Okay, virtually any lock will fall prey to the LPL, but face it, most criminals are very impulsive, and not too bright. Of the few that are as intelligent and focussed as the LPL, they truly would have beyond trying to steal my stuff/junk. I had a former HA as an apprentice (electrician--not B&E) and I pumped him for security ideas. Really there are so many other ways to get in, it hardly makes sense for a petty criminal to dick around with those tiny tools.
John Thomson - agreed. messing with locks is definitely not a crooks normal mo. Destructive entry is definitely preferred as it is usually faster and, if you are stopped, explaining away a set of lock picks to a cop....well, you’re probably gonna need a lawyer 😆
How much more difficult would the lock be to pick if he hadn’t seen the key first? Now he knows what he is facing when he starts picking, but I guess it would be more difficult starting picking with no info on how the lock is designed.
I would love to see LPL making video start from open package, challenge accept and done. It's like solving a puzzle, while some of them are child puzzles.
I wish the doctors in 2014 did such a good analysis with the tumor in my back, so i don't had to loose 1 year with extreme pain and i did not loose the ability to walk ... They told me "you have nothing" after a MRT ... found the tumor by myself on the pictures. Doc: "ohhhh, well .....ehhhhh... hmmmm" that was all. 1 year without morphine because "there is NOTHING" ... Anyway : Still alive.
As a Turk i feel kinda safe about 2 minutes but most common brand in turkey is Kale lock and this DAF brands factory in turkey istanbul according to official website
