Need to just put a steering rack on it like the off-road go-karts in the prefabs do I use the rack and pinion off on my golf cart and then that also gives you real ball joints instead of the little rod ends that are got slapped in them
The simplicity of this kart is perfect!! Finally a kart I could just piece together as a kit. Can you please involve all costs of this build. I’d like to know what I’m getting myself into.
Ya'll need to build a digital lap timer. Instead of relying on a human that is trying to beat your time, wire up a photoelectric sensor like the safety beam used on garage doors, similar to how a drag strip operates. I've got seven beam sensors on my small backyard track that gives me split times down to .001 of a second and it is easy to calculate average MPH too.
i kinda think the whole timing thing and leaderboard is useless if they aren't actually using the fastest time they did on it. kinda dumb to use a slower time just because he won the first time.
I enjoy watching the builds. I usually space out when you're driving the karts around but with this new time trials track setup I can really get into it. Loved this video. "I luv da build, buddy"
Have you guys ever figured out how long your course actually is is it a half a mile? You should drive one of your cars around your course and see what the odometer says
Great build guys and keep the videos coming. I couldn't smash the like button fast enough. Leroy is living his life on the edge and don't give 2 craps lol thanks for the video guys
To read your suspension you should read your tires by knowing where the white Mark is on the tire you know what is getting in contact and it will also be darker depending on how it's gripping the road
You guys build some awesome stuff. I appreciate both of your personalities, and it looks like you both always have fun. There is a reason I am subscribed to this channel and not RBG. Keep up the good work.
I'd like to see a small diesel powered Kart or bike. Have seen some (that powered waste water pumps) for sale lately and the last two had 3/4" diameter shafts.
I keep catching myself saying "itll be fine" in an Ike accent, to myself, when im working on just about anything now! People at work are giving me the strangest looks.
The reason why it is so wobblie on hi speeds . Is the tire size , get some azusa Tri Star wheels 5” , and some 4.10/3.50-5 tires , they will handle the high speeds better , beefier tire rods are also a safer bet for high speeds
Links to the kit are in the description. Actually building this chassis from scratch? No idea. It depends on your experience and how cheap you can buy metal for.
$1292.00 + freight. You can find mostly complete carts on Craigslist for 50-500, $100 for a predator 212, and say another $150 for wheels, tires, assundries etc. Total cost can be as low as a couple hundred if you are resourceful.
I have a new name for the hard left hander at the far end of the property after crossing the last driveway section. I guess that’s technically the front of the house. The part that parallels the road you rip up and down on. Hopefully 3 separate descriptions is enough to let you figure out what I’m talking about. That is now called the “slow is fast” corner. Slow is fast because spinning out, or almost spinning out isn’t 😬
Very cool build. Maybe use some sheet aluminum to fabricate a front shroud that looks like a DMC to help with wind resistance for the 88mph run. Cover the aluminum edges with something though for safety.
How about doing a video of a super/turbo charged Miata? Meaning have both a super charged and a turbo charged systems on the same engine at the same time and then putting it on the dyno! Use 1000cc fuel injectors and talk to Kyle from BoostedBoiz (youtube) to find out what size fuel pump he used in the red "hatch"!
Thats one slick looking kart. I wany to build one of these with a Cr 125,Rm,Yz or kx.... all great engines. Im leaning mord towards a 250 cc 4 stroke though. Ive been looking for an older race kart to build. keep the vids coming always great content fellas. It'll be fine !!!
I have to agree completely with the “averaging” of the runs. Between height and weight and driving styles, that’s the best way to keep the “Grand Prix” leaderboard as accurate as possible. But I think you should do all the builds with a lap to get a good idea of your build history. Only exception would be the rail car cause it’s made for straight lines.
You should take the fastest time the cart does no matter who does the time because that's what the cart is capable of. Don't average them like Consumer Reports! LOL
OMG... I typo'd again... Last try. If I don't get it right, you will have to search wikipedia for it. I can't simply copy/paste a link here as it won't work. I have to type it out. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ackermann_steering_geometry
Screw the gp times. Put up some cones, water the grass and do a drift competition. Style, distance, etc. Just good for thought. Can't wait to see the next video.
Well come back out my pastor Bob build lol your gona fall out!at coin guru minister your gona laugh your bones off hahaha, you 2 crack me up! But not yet as crazy as old pastor Bob at my age, keep up the good work boys
I ride go karts around my chickens, and boy I tell you what, if you just kinda bump em that first time (not very hard) with the kart they won’t get in your way again
Love the build so far jw if you guys are gonna balance that crank or 9000rpm will be a one time thing lol. Just a heads up not saying you dont know but a reminder to do it lol
Ike had that look, like when John told him to go up the dirt jump in pugly. he flipped it with no helmet on. Like you mad bro! Love all your videos. And the awesome sticker packs
