Speaking as a writer, the pace of dictation would have been hard to sustain with modern equipment.

That's interesting. Brian Hales said the pace of translation was actually slow.

I bought the first book, reading it now. I for sure will buy the second one. But more important, I’ll be studying the BofM under a new LIGHT and KNOWLEDGE. Thank you Rick and THANKYOU David!

I loved this video even though I don’t feel it really matches the video title.

Such a fun and entertaining guest. I love it when people look deeply into scripture. He's right about the Catholic mass being seen as temple liturgy. Celebration of the Eucharist is often called the bloodless sacrifice. The same is true, maybe even more so, for the Orthodox Divine Liturgy. There's an idea held that the daily services of the church have replaced the daily services of the temple in Jerusalem. That's why there's incense and sacred vestments and sacred vessels and certain worship spaces that are considered a specially holy and thereby restricted. Something in the LDS temple tradition that I find a bit strange is the lack of worship and sacrifice to God in the temple. The way I understand it ordinances are being done to endow individuals with power. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the ordinances, but I'm wondering where are the specific acts and rituals that are being done as worship and sacrifice to/for God? An orthodox services every time a priest puts incense on the fire he says "incense do we offer you Oh Christ our God as an odor of spiritual sweetness upon your most heavenly altar sending down upon us in return the gift and the grace of thine own Holy Spirit." I'm just wondering where are the offerings and where is the sacrifice in LDS temples?

Interesting question! There certainly are parts of the temple ceremony where patrons worship and covenant to make sacrifices to God, but there are also parts of it that are more focused on learning, gaining insight, and receiving personal revelation. I suppose that would be different from the sole focus on sacrifice/worship model you are referring to.

The answer to the horses question is that nobody bothered to ask the Native Americans. To this day certain tribes say they always have had horses. The Spaniards are the ones that started the myth that there were no horses before Columbus. One Spaniard sued in Spanish Court that these were not Native American horses that he possessed so that he could avoid having to pay taxes to the Spanish King.

Terrible answer, not based in reality.

@@GospelTangents I’ve got several comments from Native Americans that state as fact that they’ve had horses long before Columbus. Are you saying they are delusional, not based in reality, calling them liars? Also, to get her PhD, a certain woman did intensive research on the foundation of the belief that there were no horses pre-Columbian. She is Native American and was trying to get to the root of why her people were saying that there were horses, and the white men were saying that there were none. She found actual Spanish court records stating the facts that if the Native American horses were claimed as new horses, the Spanish king would lay claim to taxes. If the horses were deemed as property of the Spanish king, then there would be no taxes assessed.

He didn't he based his stories on previous books that did the Heavy lifting that Joseph read . The supernatural help Joseph received wasn't from God as there Are other supernatural beings that R the adversarys ( haSatan) of God. The Mormon temple rituals ( which I have audio tapes of from the 70's) R nothing like the Temple in Jerusalem and the actual ZION temple location of Jesus Return at the mount of Olives.

Which books? I've read enough of Spaulding and Howe to know they arn't it. And two the Jerusalem Temple was an Aaronic not Melckezadic temple.
