That’s awesome. Can you put the link where you got the silicone liquid? I’ve been wanting to make some moulds and am having a hard time finding silicone rubber. It’s always exciting when something works. Everything we use is so expensive.
It says it is hard to tear so you could be okay with the bottom thickness. You could use your clear silicone in the gun to fill places like corners with silicone that you don’t need filled. Snip them out when ready or put a piece of thick plastic across the edge before you pour. It isn’t silicrete, it is silicreate. As in to create something with silicone. We all do this sometimes when it isn’t a real word together our mind just picks the obvious. I have a sister that does it all of the time and it is a real thing. She is very intelligent. 🌷
I have been following you for a while now I’m new at this I must tell you this YOU ARE THE only one that explains in detail on how to make resin and molds I was wondering if you would be able to explain on how much of each to mix together with resin and hardener I know they are equal parts but I don’t know what that part is
Hi, We just found you tonight, hubby and I. I think you are adorable on how excited you get. I haven't done any resin work but I really want to. I am in the U.S. in California. You inspire me and your work is sooooooo beautiful!! I get all excited right along with you. :) I hope to do something that will bring me as much excitement as yours has brought you. Awesome work!!!
Oh darling you really should pour a stiff one before you get started, you fret so much and I get so nervous for you, then I have to break the seal on a bottle. I can't keep drinking like this!!😂😂😂 I do love watching you and your creations!❤
@@jodyparkman824 I laugh so hard listening to her laugh at herself and it makes my day everytime I watch her. I know how nervous you get working with resin because you don't want to run out of time before the resin starts to seize up. You worry about mistakes but you learn to correct them quickly and move on, leave it alone and wait for the surprise after drying time is up. She has come into her own and is a pleasure to watch and listen to. 👏👏👏❤❤
Here's an idea to make that silicone go further In the areas that a negative not part of your mold place some stones or unneeded items to into the negative spaces pushing that extra silicone into the areas that you need it because in the corners is quite a bit of wasted silicone then when you remove your mold you can just remove those items you used in the negative spaces to push that silicone to where you needed it. It's just for your use so it doesn't have to be beautiful or you could actually put shapes in there that you could reuse later when you make your silicone coasters you can make those little silicone designs as well such as crystals etc
Way to go Julie 🎉 - you did a fabulous job and your mold turned out just great! Thank you for sharing. Love your enthusiasm and excitement- makes me smile every time 👩🏻🎨🌈
Julie, you did an AMAZING job! I agree that the more natural edge is very appealing. I hadn’t even considered the possibility of making my own molds; now you have me thinking. 😊 I love your videos. Thank you for sharing with us, not only the gifted artist that you are, but the wonderful person. 😊👍❤️
Julie you did exceptionally well with this. You seem to have a new lease of life and happiness since you started with resin and its wonderful to hear :)

No no..NEVER use silicone or resin in dishes you use for cooking. YIKES.. Those are toxic. Read labels that say NOT to use on dishes you eat food from, or put food in.
I hope you don't use those bowls again for baking? You said it was a baking bowl? That is toxic chemicals you are putting in there, you shouldn't use for baking/food afterwards. Can be dangerous.
Refrigerate silicone after pouring for an hour or two and that removes the bubbles. I make/pour molds for soap making, quite often. (Much firmer silicone mold than used for resin). You can put a bit of mica in a or b for color or 1 or 2 drops of food color to a or b if you want color of to be sure its blended well, or, if you just want the mold to have color. I don't use a pan. I buy corrugated plastic and, cut it, 1 layer, not all of the way through, fold the sides up, and use packing tape on the outside to secure them. Works perfectly again and again. This allows for depth if you want a beeper mold, and, allows you to make it the size you need with no excess space that can waste silicone. Corrugated plastic sign sheets are available in most hardware stores. The sheets are near the yard signs, ie; "for sale", "beware of dog", etc. They are blank and white for making your own signs. Various sizes. Very inexpensive. These can be used over and over. I've never had to replace one.
I tried this kind of the mold to make, glued successfully! But unfortunately the THICKNESS of the silicon kitchen mat was not at the point! So the surface was ugly tightened and I had to throw it away, pity. The mat must be solid as well. Thank you
Hello doll. I have been looking for a mold like this for months. You are adorable. I loved this. Have you considered making any to sell? I loved the tutorial, with all I have going on in my life and working full time. I have no extra time to try my own.
Fantastic. I really want to have another try at resin art. I set some paper flowers into half round moulds but they came out with very crinkled surface and not beautifully transparent like yours. Maybe the mould was too flexible because I got flat tops instead of domed. However watching you has given me the encouragement to try again. Thank you 😊 from Lady Penelope
That was great!! I wanna make my own coasters. I like the smooth, straight edges better. Looks more high quality. The mold turned out great!! I can’t wait to see the coasters u make w/it. Xx
Thank you Julie for being such a joy in teaching your techniques. I often wondered how this was done and now I know. Can’t wait to try something small. Thank you from Dunkirk, MD. USA
I bet the silicone cost more than a premade geode silicone coaster mold... they’re only like £6. Don’t understand the point of this if you’re not using cheaper items
Love this video and love the Aussie accent!!! “Oh this is so exiting lol 😂 “ u made me giggle how happy u were wen removing your clear coasters from your mold!!!!
Hello Julie can you tel me the name of the silicon please, i wanna make a mold for a lamp ( it wil be something speciale for remeber my mother in law she died december 2023 ) i love your videos
If you ever have a shape that you are not sure how much silicone or resin you would need to do the job. You can fill the shape with water. Use a measuring jug to measure the amount of water it takes to fill the shape. No more guessing.
By the way could you please add the link where we can order that liquid silicone that you poured in your cookie sheet please thank you. Love your work by the way
If the silicone ends up not being enough stick something inbetween the molds so that the volume of what you stick in rises the level of the silicone. You can eventually fill these empty spaces in later with silicone or glue.
Thank you so much for this video. This is exactly what I needed! Love you for sharing this! Please share a video if you make a tray mould with liquid silicone.
Julie, you've done it again!!!! You are fantastic to say the least. Do you find that doing your own molds are cheaper than bought ones? Mind you, like you, I agree that there should be 6 of everything. When you buy cutlery, place mats etc, there is always 6 of everything isn't there. I hope the weather is good for you in Queensland, Australia, even though it is your winter? Weather in the UK is not too great for our summer!!! Though, we did have fantastic weather right from March this year. Love everything you do. You are a superb teacher and bring enthusiasm and optimism to everything you do, a true inspiration.
Way to go Julie !!! I'm so happy and excited for you !!! I love your excitement and enthusiasm when you try new thing's. I have been with you every step of the way on your resin journey and I have learned allot from you. You are becoming the resin Queen of RU-vid. Thank you for sharing all your experiments and talent with us. I can't wait to see what color's you use in your new molds. 🥰 💐👑💜👏👍💐
Awesome Silicreate!! TY very informative.. I've done the rubber SILICONE. But REALLY Expensive. I have made my own silicone molds for soaps, resin, candles. I know this an old VIDEO, but I love your work!! ❤ I have to make my own molds because know one carries molds that I need for my CREATIONS. I have found away to not use silicone, but using a different PROCESS and it's great for so much, I can make detailed molds embeds for resin CANDLES soaps all that.. It's pretty awesome actually. What is a vacuum for resin?? Is it teal experiensive?? TY if u get back to me I really do appreciate everything.
This was amazing, loved it. Am in the process of starting to make my own molds and this helps with the confidence level. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
