This is one of the most helpful resin tutorials I have seen in a long time. Thank you for showing us first how to heat the print to set the ink, then to seal it up to embed in the resin. I am most pleased with this tutorial. Blessings to you and yours with health always.
I've done resins for a few months now but always wanted to do cutouts. Your tutorial showed me so much, I was held back until watching it! Really very good.
Two years later and you are still helping. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I cant afford a cricut right now and can I tell you. All my inkjet pics for my coasters, keychains and others are all beautiful due to your technique. Thank you, I really appreciate it.
I have a Cricut and regret it. It, I, and my computer are not compatible. If I hadn't been given it by my sister, I would really resent it. Spending over $500... I can't see many people getting that back in sales. So don't feel bad about not having one!
I haven't started resin crafting YET, but I have to say when u began unfolding the first coaster, I felt like a child on Christmas morning 😀 THANK YOU!!! ❤
thank you, thank you, THANK YOUU so much for this! putting foil pieces into my projects has been my new challenge & it’s been exactly that. 😩 so many folks don’t share their resin tips, so it’s appreciated.
@@alexandragarciabaudrit5835 This is on my list to try, lol! I know that using laminating paper has been successful for me. I’ll let you know as soon as I try this!
I actually love everything about this video. From the way you’ve taught how to transfer an image to resin to the color combination you’ve used. Everything’s lovely
Love your intro music!! I usually skip past intros, but your music has the feeling of the opening of a 90’s family film. My heart is thoroughly warmed 😋
Glad I decided to watch this! I wanted to use a picture in my resin tray. I thought of using modge podge. I have tacky glue so I will be using that! Thank you for sharing!
Ooh, thanks for the tips. I was watching this at work due to one of my customers wanting to do something like this, but I'm thinking of doing this myself too as Christmas presents.
OMG I am so glad I came across your video! I have ruined a project I am currently working on twice simply because I did not seal my photo properly on the Resin! Perfect timing for me to see this as I am attempting the same project a 3rd time! I now Know what to do, Thank You!! Subscribed.
Thank you so much for this video. I was using sticker paper n laminate over the top of it which isn't very cost effective. Plus, I would still get some resin seeping thru at some edges. This was very easy to follow and the colors are still bright after the glue dried. Just awesome! Can't wait to try this method
My fave method is glossy photo paper, with the resin I use it doesn’t bleed, or wrinkle. I massage some resin onto it before adding to a tacky layer of resin.
I’m so happy I came across this video! I’ve been trying to figure out how to seal my pictures for Resin. I was told mod podge but this way looks better, just ordered the Tacky Glue 😂 thank you
Thank you so much! You have no idea how you saved my life from frustration and stress as well as my small startup business! You're the very first video I've watched and wanted to subscribe to as well as pay for! So thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
This is a well done tutorial. Thank you for your time and effort that you generously shared in order to impart this wonderful information. I know it will be very helpful for me.
Thank you so much!! I have never done anything with resin. I got interested when I saw a video of something someone made and I fell in love with the Final project. Thank you for showing a beginner how to do it.
This is a great technique I hadn't considered. Aleenes is great. I used it to seal some beads on a project, worked better than modpodge and kept shine. Thanks for sharing 😊
Omgosh I'm so glad I found your video! Just in time for doing 2 gifts that require paper to be used in them. Im going to be using actual pages from a book. Thank you!
You can also seal your paper before adding it to your project after the sealant dries, so u don’t have to worry so much about getting a really good seal between the paper and the resin, since the images itself is pre-sealed.. I like Liquitex matte medium for sealing.
Thank you for adding your knowledge so everyone can try a different method. I have done it this way but have had trouble a few times when part of the paper floated and part didn't or it slid to one side while I wasn't watching lol. Slippery little things.
Thanks so much for your tutorial on how to seal paper into resin. I want to create some coasters for a friend of mine with some pictures of her favourite places she has travelled to and this will be perfect! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
secret squirrel tip from an ex teaching assistant who had to laminate a LOT of paper...always cut the paper shapes out first before laminating, you are less likely to have gaps as it complete encases that piece of paper, and it also means you can reuse the paper for other things so less paper waste too!
@@AstraRoseYT Hi ...I'm wondering if I laminate only 1 side of my pic/image, maybe I only have to glue the paper back side of pic to the set resin. Then I can pour new resin over top?
@@AstraRoseYT Yes you can. Watched Teatime N Dolls Channel... & Positively Papercraft Channel yesterday. They've done a number of items by putting 2 pieces of plain paper in between 2 sheets of patterned paper in a laminating pouch. It's fascinating. Bit of a game changer with the new matt pouches too. I've got the pouches but I have to borrow a laminater.
Thank you for this tutorial. I LOVE crafting and am embarking on the making of resin coasters. So much useful information in a short amount of time. Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
Wow thank you so much for all the helpful tips. I need to make a pair of earrings for a cousin with her business logo and I will try to method and see how it turns out.
Oh my God thank you so much u just saved all my next projects from being thrown out, I have put sticky back printed decals on projects n they all FADED 😢. Thanks for the video.
Question please .. when the tacky glue is only painted on the image and extends beyond the image not across the entire coaster where the image is.... does it not show the glue streaks on the completed project?
I don't see them when there is a color background. You may be able to see some texture when the item is completely clear but I'm not sure. I have done any on clear before
I personally found a few better ways to insert images. One includes using sticker paper and clear sheets and inserting it into the first layer of resin so that it has a more reliable seal.
I use amazing clear cast resin too ... what heat does it withstand because I couldn’t find it on the uk website Thanks for the tips! So far I’ve used my laminator for images and not had any problems with resin leaking in but I’ve seen others have problems with that. So it’s nice to have this as an a,tentative if the laminator stops working
Thank you! Have a job requiring I pour over the only copy of a very old and sentimentally valuable document to the client who insists I use it. I'm a nervous wreck. Your technique has me more confident.
Although this does look like a good idea, I use a specific type of paper that doesn't require all those steps. Granted, this doesn't stop bubbles from getting underneath, but if you put the image in using a scoop motion, it usually works great. For example, if you started at an angle and glide the picture in after you've filled your bezel. Here's a link to the paper. (I have no affiliation with this company at all.) www.redrivercatalog.com/browse/86lb-pecos-river-gloss-duo.html Also, I use Little Windows resin and she has several sample videos of how you use her paper (which I believe is similar to what I'm buying) and insert the image in your bezel. Remember this only works if the resin is already in the bezel instead of pouring the resin on top of the image. Please know I'm not complaining about your option, your way definitely reduces or even eliminates the possibility of a bubble under the paper, but does require many extra steps. If you want to check out Little Windows, here is their web address. Again, I have nothing to do with this company either, I've just been using her products for 9 years. www.little-windows.com Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to give it a try. Do you know if you can use Mod Podge instead of the glue you mentioned?
Kim, there are so many papers here, which one works best for you? Is it using the inkjet paper/printer for resin use? The dbl sided paper? Thanks in advance!
just plain ole copy paper for my inkjet printer. nothing fancy. but this method will work for any type of paper. Ive used it on different types of paper from cardstock to tissue paper (of coarse you have to be gentle brushing on glue with tissue paper.)
@@TreasuredKreations I haven't tried that yet. But I have used printed films bought specifically for use in resin. No need to seal those first. I would imagine if the film was laser printed you don't need to do a thing. Can't speculate on inkjet printed films as I've never tried it.
@@AyeshaShaSha this one video was the main catalyst for my channel growing so quickly. I guess I didn't realize that this wasn't a widely known technique. I learned about it way back in 2012 while on the Ice Resin design team. I'm glad I could pass on the knowledge
I did this years ago and over time the image eventually deteriorates. The only way I found to completely ensure the image remains perfect is to laminate it.
Hmmm I've never had trouble when using this technique and I have projects that are about 10 years old. Necklaces that I put printed images in etc. I like the idea of a laminated image but never liked being able to see the laminate border around the edges. I wonder if differences in printers, inks, or types of glues has an effect on the printed image over time. It would be a neat experiment. Of course one that would take a long time lol. Thanks so much for sharing.
You are absolutely correct. We literally just used mod podge yesterday on a project - let it dry overnight. And this morning poured resin - it leaked and black spots are everywhere. We are definitely switching to your method
Thank you!! After months and month of failure after failure I found something that works! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve been using clear contact paper as a protectant! Just HOPING it didn’t seep through. Sometimes it did and most times it didn’t. I love this method!
TFS!! Look very clean and polished!!🥰👍🏾.. I dont own that paper cutter, but the extra steps you did looks GREAT!! I will be trying as gifts for my customers.
Thank you for all the tips :) The mod podge technique works a bit better when you use an acrylic sealer in a can on top of the mod podge after it dries but you're right about aleens it's good stuff!
Thank you for sharing this tip! Instead of filing the edges, try using a hot knife. It cleanly removes the edges without scuffing, so it retains the clear shine.
After filing or sanding your resin, you can take a thin coat of up resin and go over it. It will seal in all the scratches and make the completely disappear! :)
