Hebrews talks about the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods as being separate.

Woman in the Mormon church were ordained healers in the temple, during Brigham young. Woman also could anoint with oil and heal, up until 1942-43. My bet is the church will go back to allowing that and say “it was never doctrine, just men of their time. Meaning opps prophets and apostles were sexist and couldn’t handle woman doing what they do.

It doesn't sound like a woman's role in their church is much different than the LDS church. Basically, a supporting personal which is not bad, but it bugs me when we treat one category of people like that's their life mission, while others progress from office to office and obtain more authority. I just don't see how God would treat His children like that. God doesn't create a competitive environment. If He treats everyone equally, it must be truly equally and not this "we are the same in the eyes of the Lord but have different roles". We might have different roles, it's true. However, equality in my opinion is when everyone has equal access to different roles and a fulfillment of the role is not based on gender.

Equality of the sexes is when they are both performing different tasks inherent to divine spiritual nature. Men build and women nature.

@@chile_en_nogada2090, not all women are born to nurture and not all men are meant to build. I disagree when we create universal boxes for all men and women. Some might be happy and content with fulfilling nurturing roles, for others it turns their life into hell. I know men who are not builders or leaders by nature and putting them into leading positions adds more stress and leads to burn out. God created us all unique. I think it's the culture of the church that created these universal roles for men and women. But as for me, I see no problem in women to aspire to something different, neither do I see a problem with men taking a different role. After all, Jesus performed a nurturing role as well quite a bit, and while ministering He broke the social standards and expectations for women too.

Okay yeah "not all women" sure but we deal with generalizations not some super exact thing. It is the nature of women to be like this. You must be a woman to get pregnant. Haha its not the culture of the church thar created these 'gender roles' it was mother nature and heavenly father. Jesus isnt a good example to use as he was the incarnation of unity. He had both male and female roles. He had to take on the female role as the last act of his life by being speared. Yes men can nuture and vice versa but it is only by accepting the law can we then make exemptions or see a higher truth somehow. The third relief society president healed and anoited people. Maybe we should bring that back. We need to help women become true feminine goddesses. Not just say well women should wear suits and ties and sit in an office all day like men like you are saying. Women dont want that!

So are you pro trans then? Pro gay? If you were then that would really hurt me because if I still thought all of that was okay then I couldve gotten stuck. If i hadnt found out that being gay is usually a lack of an essential nutrient or emotional trauma then i wouldve been stuck forever. We can grow and we can become masculine men and feminine women as the gods intended.

You guy's didn’t really go indepth at all about Womens roles within the churches which is disappointing. Would have loved to have seen more the historical and modern roles side of things.

@GospelTangents talk about the hard topics of women in the priesthood and bring some women experts in your discussions from both churches. Along with talking about hard topics such as gender roles, which is ever controversial and confusing in society.

@@MeowStevenCat2020Just for a different perspective as another member of TCOJC. Firstly Deaconesses are cherished with in the church and their calling is taken extremely seriously as it involves setting of the sacrament table and deep and meaningful relationships with the members of the church. They are often used to assist elders when ministering to other women. Their role is monumental especially when dealing with those who have trauma from and distrust of men. That being said, in The Church of Jesus Christ, when we talk about priesthood, we typically are talking about elders only as they are the only ones to administer ordinances, excluding feetwashing which is done with every baptized member (one to another)(men w/ men) (women w/ women) Outside of ordinances women work closely with the men and are usually the life of the branch and in the most fulfilling definition of the word, mothers to the members of the church. They typically are the best fundraisers, and best missionaries. When a visitor come through the door I know that the sisters of the church will shower that person with an overwhelming amount of love. As far as feelings of being held back or feeling resentful on their position in the Church; I have sometimes heard questions pertaining to their role or use from younger sisters. In general you t is not common. Branches are usually 40-60 members, so everyone is very close and gathers often with each other throughout the weak. If there are ill feelings or unhappiness, it is a often openly and freely expressed, talked about, and talked through. This is not only true among members, but to the ministry as well. If a member has s feeling excluded or without purpose the fault is at the feat of the ministry. I would say that the sisters deeply understand their role in the dynamic of their branches and church as a whole. Like any member they are not given ir assigned responsibility but voluntarily increase or decrease their involvement in the the works and responsibilities of the Church. Callings are chosen by an individuals willingness to do the work, fulfilling the responsibility of the calling and divine revelation (often dream or vision by the individual or another) If they show a desire and aptitude to love and care for the saints of the church and they would be asked to petition the Lord for a confirmation of that calling. The time of acceptance is up to them. The women also have something that’s called Lady Circle which I guess is our version of relief society. The women get to run their own functions and fundraising and outreach. They work closely with the ministry both at a branch level and general church level. They’re awesome! I hope that helps a little!
