No, I don't go here to find a shop near you. atra.com/ShopFinder These don't normally quit moving. Could be a lot of reasons for no movement. Pump, converter, low on fluid. Just needs to be checked out.

It is 2 Craftsman sockets welded together to make a deep socket. 40 bucks instead of over 100 for a Snap-ON or some other brand.

We did not get the job on this one so I don't have one yet I do have a valve body video for this particular unit. Expensive. I think I would stick with the 545RFE.

@@CurmudgeonTransmission yeah they look like a pita to rebuild. I've got a few more valve body mods to do to the 545 to try to get the shifts faster. Thanks

Did not get to do it. I can tell you that there are a crap ton of different versions. So be careful when you take the valve body apart. Right now there is only information on the gen 1 versions and not all of those.

@CurmudgeonTransmission I am curious because my 8HP70 in my 2014 1500 Ram is experiencing some issues with shifting when cold. First gear seems to hang a bit long in the mornings, I believe my 2-3 shift or 3-4 shift have a very subtle shutter to it and when I come to a stop sometimes I feel a bit of a lurch when it downshifts back into first gear. Also sometimes when I take off from a rolling start it almost seems like it can't decide if it wants to be in first or second gear. I have no codes. I have not personally changed the filter and fluid. I have only owned it for about a year truck has 160k on it now. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Have not had much dealings with this unit so far. Maybe someone on here has. Have several sub's that work at dealership's so they may have something for you. Did a search of your symptoms on the sites that we use and did not come up with much. As far as the shudder goes some are using the shudder fix that Ford uses for their 6R80 shudders. We have used that before as well as the limited slip additive for differentials and also have used Dr. Tranny/Lubegard shudder fix. As far as the other problems, they MAY be an issue with carbon build up in the throttle body. I know this has been an issue with other vehicles. You might try cleaning the throttle body where the plate closes. Be aware that after doing that it may require resetting the learned values for it or there may be running issues. Everything seems to need this for every system nowadays. So just be aware of that before you do it.

@@CurmudgeonTransmission Really appreciate the reply! I will definitely look into these suggestions. I would really like to drop the pan and filter assembly and partially replace the fluid and filter. It seems like a lot of people are using off-the-shelf synthetic ATF to replace ZF's recommended fluid.
