Athens, Greece, January 30, 2022. While the 8K resolution video is the new frontier, I took the decision to approach and explore it, through the whole process of shooting, editing and rendering in post production. So I chose to film a few aspects of the popular official ceremony of the changing of the Evzones, that took place in front of the Greek Parliament, in Syntagma Square, on Sunday morning January 30. As we all know, the most affordable and easy way to approach 8K is a mobile phone device: So here I used the Xiaomi MI 10, a device that surprised me by introducing a large 1/1.33" sensor (almost 1 inch sensor!) enclosed in a mobile phone device. While filming up to the minute 01:18 the device was on a gimbal for mobile phones and after this point the shooting was handheld. The clips were just joined straight out of the camera, without applying any color or light correction. The footage is shared so everyone who is interested can evaluate. All questions are welcome and I will be glad to answer about this new experience.
