I know its difficult to make it clean. I use liquid electrical tape, which also looks messy, but works well. Also they now have a heat shrink tape that holds very well

It will work but not as well as a pack that is made for the range of your system. Too much resistance will make it too hard to get the juice back to the lower voltage system. But it will function.

Eric Tukes the cap pack solders on the barter leads as close to the ESC as possible.

Most of mine are double stick to the chassis. Some of the traxxas box bottoms can be screwed about anywhere. Dont be afraid to grab some aluminum and fab one

Zed orda No Sir, I had not YET encountered problems, but this will stop them before they start. I have since soldered a 6.5mm castle battery connector on the lead so I can change packs and test with and without. I am a member of Mamba Cap Pack Research Team.

Mamba Juice released its tough Anti-ripple cap-packs, developed for Drag Racing, high speed pass and hardcore bash applications. These cap packs are available for 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 8s, 12s volts and has a high level of capacitance Up to 11,000uf. Our conventional cap-pack are from 3,000uf all the way up to 11,000uf. These packs will help to control the temperature in your ESC, and will keep all ripples voltages that your batteries produce at the lowest possible. The first consequence of the high level of ripples voltages is that it can damage your ESC. To install the cap-pack just do the soldering on the main positive and main negative of your ESC (Not inline between the Main battery source and esc battery)We always recommend that you solder them as close to the Esc as possible. Our cap-pack will not change your ESC capability, for example if your ESC is rated for 6s max your ESC will be 6s max even if you use this product. Basically they help to smooth the power flow when the esc tags the motor in sequence. It stored a bit of energy and helps to lower the ripple. The ripple is where your esc sends juice to your motor. It does this in a certain order. Everytime it switches from one wire to another it stops and starts, this causes a ripple in your flow. By smoothing the ripple the entire system works smoother together and allows the system to work better and more efficiently.

I think of it in reference to capacitors used on high-end, high-powered car stereos. When those power-hungry bass notes hit, they attempt to pull a lot of juice from the amplifiers and the attached car batteries. Car PA guys put capacitors inline to the battery to handle those surges because those capacitors have reserve power on-demand. This makes for a more strong bass kick or drop. An underpowered battery will cause that bass note to sound distorted and lack depth.
