Great content Nick I learn so much from you. I have a Lotus K24 turbo swap in the process of being built. Here is hoping our results mirror what I see on your site.
I actually managed to make 320whp on my stock motor r18 with about 4k$, but I build the turbo kit myself and bought minimal new stuff and tuned it myself Point is it is difficult to make decent power with a R without being better off K swapping, but not impossible
i also knoe that the asian market had the R20, dont know if it would make power with R18 bottom end and R20 top end, and also im auto, so i think 195-200whp will be just the right amount.
Huge fan of the channel!!! Im at a crossroads right now. I blew my z3 in my si last week. Bought an rbb2 k24a today. Was going to use my z3 head but valves got hit when the engine went. What advantage would there be to buying a new rbc z3 head and putting in drag cartel 3.2 cams, over just putting the cams in the rbb2 head? Looking to make close to 260. Also what about the headers I already had in the car lining up with the new motor. Thanks!
This comparison is bs. You have plenty of 07 engines on his channel making under 230hp and all of the sudden this one makes 20whp over it. Nick is not using correction on his dyno so in summer same car will put out 220whp vs winter 240whp. Making statement that 06-08 cam makes 20hp over pre flc cams is palin retarded. That is how much you gain with dc drop in cams.
actualy there is video on his chanel where car makes same power as this one with those shit cams : JDM K24A Swap Dyno Tune EG Civic - Intake Comparison
@@Esdru221i have explaned it in last video. People who have dynos without correction standard shouldn't compare data that is not done within the same hour or two.
i have yet to see a stock k20z3 run 06 tsx cams which is what im running right now and i also have a k24 on the side that im building with rbb3 head and will be using those cams too
Is it recommended to use 50 degree vtc or would 45 be better? I have seen people saying there can be interference with a 50 degree gear so I’m not sure. If anyone could help out that would be great.
Boost or nos would be the way, if you're really handy and resourceful you can put a turbo on for pretty cheap My first setup I had running for a bit over 2k$, T25 from a sr20det Random freebee intercooler Amazon charge piping Stock kseries injectors, stock pump Used the ol K&N sri to house the maf sensor 70$ at the hydraulic shop for the feed and return Act stage 2 clutch Flashpro on a RNA A13 ecu from the states Was comparable to a mk7 gti with dp and intake+ stg 1 tune (allegedly)
@@daynerampersad8968the only way that you’ll actually will be Able to make that power is going fully built motor adding cams pistons and rods springs and retainer porting and polishing e85 and the r20 crankshaft should make close to 200 probably 190 and upgrading the injectors to 450cc you also use the j35 throttle body as well
Yes it should be an RBB head. Stock it is NOT safe or reccommended to go 8k rpm on these. You need RSX Type S oil pump and should also do the 50° VTC before revving to 8k.
