I will order another one and couldn’t decide which. This is a perfect option. There’s nothing than a terrific wood work perfect box and having the ability to store the painted panel as well.

Hi Kim, Great to hear that you like your Blackfoot Lite! It is a sweet little pochade box :) As for a good backpack I don't have one in mind for you. If you can I would recommend that you take the box with you to your local outdoor gear store and try them? That's what I've done in the past to find the fit and found a Jansport daypack, kind of like a college backpack that has worked for me. Alternatively in these times is look on the internet, specifically focusing on the internal dimensions of the backpack. The Blackfoot Lite is 10" wide. My pochade boxes are made to fit all standard tripods. They have a stainless steel mount that use standard camera threads (1/4"-20), so if the tripod will attach to a camera it will attach to the box. I'm happy to recommend tripods that will work with this box.
@@allaprimapochade I'd love a recommendation on a tripod! I'm currently searching for one online that is stable and I feel secure about plein aire painting in a breezy situation. I currently use a Manfrotto for my iPhone time lapse videos of me painting indoors and thought I had another. I was mistaken and must have gotten rid of it. I don't want to spend a lot of money since it'll be strictly for my valuable pochade box and not expensive heavy camera and lense, and I don't want to go cheap either. I'm looking at brands like Vanguard, Neewer, Geetoko and so many more brands that my head is spinning! Thank you! :-D
Very informative. May I ask, do your boxes have a varnish odor? Every wood item I order from art stores has this strong odor? I am highly sensitive to same, hence why I own a STRADA mini. However, I miss the feeling tone of a wood box. Jeanne
To finish my pochade boxes I use a linseed oil & varnish blend. So, yes, there is a bit of smell but if you use oil paints then it is a very similar odor. Probably what you are smelling from other wood items is lacquer which has a strong odor. It's certainly possible for me to make and send you an unfinished pochade box if you prefer then you can finish it with what works for you. Just let me know if you have any more questions. Ben

Dear Ben, I really liked this 8x10 Blackfoot Lite Pochade Box by Alla Prima Pochade, but I also like the 10 x 12 Bitterroot Lite pochade box. My question is if this 8x10 would not be too small, given that you can only store 8x10 panels inside. I liked the improvement you gave this 8x10 was very practical and less bulky. I'm deciding which one to buy: 8x10 or 10x12. I would like your opinion, as you know both closely, which one would you advise me to buy? I thank you in advance and congratulate you for the great craftsman you are, and for making these beautiful box pochades for those who are lovers of plein air painting.
Hi Jesus, Thank you for your kind words regarding my pochade boxes! Definitely makes the long shop hours worth the work. Great questions! All my Lite pochade boxes can carry 2 panels or 4 panels depending on which version you purchase. In the 8x10 version you can carry 8x10 panels or with the included removable adapter you can carry two 6x8 (or 8x8) panels. With the 10x12 version you carry the 10x12 panels and, with removable adapter, _x8 panels. Check out all the details here allaprimapochade.com/collections/lite-pochade-box-versions In terms of which to buy, obviously, the 8x10 Blackfoot Lite it my most recent pochade box and has some new cool features but I would first consider which size panel you like to paint most often then let that drive your decision. Ben, thanks for your explanations. I would like to know this: You would make me a 9 "x12" sized pochade, as this is a panel size that I love to paint and made just like the 8 "x10" model Blackfoot Lite Pochade Box by Alla Prima Pochade, for two panels. This 9 "x12" pochade size I think is the ideal size for me. This pochade is larger than 8 "x10" and smaller than 10 "x12". I would also like to ask you if I would make the 9 "x12 narrower or less bulky, thanks and a hug.
@@jesusaguiar9934 The 10x12 Bitterroot Lite will carry your 9x12 panels. The pochade box is 12" so any panel size __x12 will fit in the lid with no problem. Very soon I will be changing the 10x12 Bitterroot Lite and 11x14 Yellowstone Lite to be just like the 8x10 Blackfoot Lite. Finding the time to make the changes is challenging due to my one man shop and keeping up with orders. However, I hope in early 2020 I will have the changes made. Thanks again Ben. I understood what you told me. I'll think I want to buy one of your Pochades. Loved the 8x10, which allows me to store 8x10 and other smaller panels. The 10'X12 "I like too, but I think the pochade is a bit big. I'll think which one to buy. The 8x10 Blackfoot Lite Pochade Box model by Alla Prima Pochade looks wonderful. You have a deadline when you deliver the pochade which is bought? and how do you buy? you have to first register on the site?
