I am watching this in 2023. I never saw this in 2001. I was a college student at the time and I didn't have a TV in my dorm room. It is nostalgic. George H. W. Bush, Barbara Bush, and Billy Graham are all gone now. I have been looking up names of people who participated in this service. It was well done.

I am sorry. You write that as some sort of fact when it is not. You say that this can be shown in what Jesus teaches. Never does He state that women cannot be pastors or pastoral or lead. Indeed, theologians have declared Maria Maddelena to be the "Apostle to the Apostles" and it was she who Jesus first showed Himself and it was she who taught His ministry after he was crucified and resurrected. That is just ONE example. If you choose to interpret the Bible so literally then I have some questions for you. I have a daughter who is bright, astute, speaks not just Hebrew but Greek, too. How much do you think I can get for her, money wise? After all, the Bible tells us that our daughters can be bought and sold. My cousin has a field. One of barley and one of wheat. The Bible teaches us that this is not allowed and my cousin should be stoned for having done such a thing. His wife, too, wears garments made of 2, imagine it....2 types of material in her clothing. Cotton and silk. The Bible teaches us that she must be put to death for it. Do I have to do it, myself, and can someone do it for me. Bible says that a man should only ejaculate in order to procreate, that he should not spill his seed except into his legal wife/wives. What it there to do when those men have sex that does not produce a child or is he is barren. I guess it is celibacy for him! How absurd you are. The Bible has thousands of symbolic rules and regulations which were created to be just that. Symbols. In the time this service was had, after 9/11, your mind went to a female pastor and not the thousands of dead and affected? Shame on you! God is watching.

I am going to assume that you weren't born yet in September 2001... believe it or not there was a time in America where we didn't bicker about every single thing every single day. Also, the news media wasn't as heavily one-sided per outlet. And the obvious reason that the Clintons were in the White House just less than a year before this was filmed.
The love of Jesus will wear a little thin when you have to endure an eternity of living in that Dire, Drab, Dreary, Dismal, Disappointing and Depressing place called Heaven, be careful of what you wish for, Heaven could be worse than Hell. After you have settled into your new mansion in Heaven there are a few things to consider, first there is no sin and no temptation, there can be no sex because sex leads to temptation and sin, Earthly desires will not exist, no sex = no new children, the joys and dramas of children for young couples will be lost, everything will be pure, that means all books, TV, movies, plays etc. will have no crime, no sex, no sin, nothing irreligious at all. Entertainment cannot exist without these elements, imagine the Daily News, "Nothing happened at all today, everybody was happy, we all prayed, tune in tomorrow for more of the same" Of course there will be bible reading classes but after 100 years of these it would drive a person to drink, DRINK? sorry no alcohol in Heaven because booze leads to sin, fighting etc. There are no politics in Heaven, politics leads to dissension and unhappiness, Jesus makes all the decisions and you cannot disagree or question any of his decisions, Everybody in Heaven is deliriously happy and they all get along with each other, what seems perfectly right to one person cannot be an affront to another otherwise there would be disagreement, disagreement leads to violence. Any arguments would be adjudicated by Jesus and the person at fault, unless he/she admitted their error, and begged forgiveness, would be banished to Hell. No sport in Heaven, sport is always full of controversy and conflict so no sport allowed, even a friendly non gambling game of poker could lead to problems. All these happy people in Heaven will continue to be happy for eternity, forever, perpetuity without any of the sinful activities that tempted them when they lived in the world. THINGS THAT WILL NOT EXIST IN HEAVEN - Sin and temptation, sex, new children, books, TV, movies, plays, alcohol, any stimulants, politics, disagreements, sport, pets. Of course there is always gardening, that is harmless but after 500 years or so this activity would become a little wearing, Tending the sheep? sorry no animals in Heaven, people only keep animals for food, warmth and companionship, everything in Heaven is provided by God, food, clothes etc. and if you were permitted to keep companion animals sooner or later these would bring you into conflict with neighbors and this won`t be tolerated in Heaven. No fights, no wars and everybody is happy sitting down, weaving their baskets and singing hymns for eternity, what a wonderful future Christians look forward to and I am really sorry that I`m headed for Hell, WAIT UP ! ! Hell seems a far better option than Heaven, at least there would be some action and humor down there and I don’t believe Satan is such a bad guy. WHAT HAVE YOU GOT YOURSELVES INTO ? ? ?
I would say Billy Graham was actually a deceptive teacher, putting fear in hearts where grace should have been taught. Jesus on the cross refused a mixture of vinegar and gall ( a type of poison to deaden the pain). It was a witch’s brew… Galatians folks were also reprimanded by Paul for mixing grace with the flesh (anything we do). “Oh foolish Galatians; Who has bewitched you? Having begun in the spirit, are you now being perfected in the flesh?” We can’t even begin in the flesh, let alone continue to keep our Salvation by deeds of the flesh. Let’s stop honoring someone who may have been a 33rd degree Freemason sent with the demonic witchcraft task to confuse us and make us think Salvation is an offer instead of an approach present from Father God. God doesn’t want you to help him with the gift wrapping either as that spoils the greatest gift of all… the gift of faith & repentance done by the baptism of repentance and baptism of the spirit! Baptism basically means to bring an item into close identification with another. Jesus baptizes us by using God’s spirit. The spirit of the Father places us into the body of Christ and we get to be shocked and pleasantly surprised that on our spiritual birthday, the present was wrapped by God, given to us by God, and he seeks us out and cleans us up so that we can even see the gift and we are raised to newness of life since we were dead to the gifts of God, and we are found… found by the great shepherd of the sheep and placed on his shoulders and brought home to the flock.
