Hi! Since you already have a background in HR, you can definitely network with sourcers, recruiters and recruiting coordinators at your company to learn more about their day to day because each company is different! I feel like you’d have a smooth transition into recruiting though!

I’m definitely going to try that. Thank you! Do you know if I would have to get a degree to be a TA or HRBP? And if I can get a certification without a college degree?

You’re welcome! I believe a degree would be required, but maybe not! Definitely check out job descriptions at different companies to get a better idea of the requirements, same thing with certifications but I don’t think they’re a requirement in most roles

Hey! Try looking at more “traditional” companies or smaller companies. Some companies have entry level expectations for recruiting coordinator, hr coordinator, etc. some even have entry level recruiter roles. Nowadays, it seems a little harder to get in at tech companies, since there’s some much talent on the market - they’re going after people with experience in the field already in my opinion. As long as you tailor your resume to show transferable skills, you should go after any role you’re interested in!

@@OhMyNeeCee Thank you so much!! I forgot to mention I’ve been mainly looking specifically im Hospitality (I have a few years of experience) and Non-Profit organizations for the roles. I will definitely consider smaller companies as well. I’ve also been going to the places I’ve applied to, to actually hand in my resume, just for the face to face connection. I appreciate your response and tips! 😊
