You need to do a RU-vid live for like an hour. Sundays are usually the best days to it. You can go over people questions and their miner setups. Lots of of helium channels do it and gain lots of subs this way!

Yes is true a 9dbi directional antenna is good only if you have direct visibility with that location, if you are blocked by a hill or forest you have no chance. I tested different antennas made by me to reach a location with many miners at 20km unfortunately the forest between me and that location does not allow me to reach them

What happened to your directional after PoCv11? I had been thinking you needed to try a directional given the views I could see from other videos. It looked like you were North of Denver and over to the northwest with the mountains to the West. I also thought you had some elevation/houses/hill in another direction. Great video!

Do you know of any other good directional antennas? The one you listed is sold out. I’ve made orders on several other websites that are similar but they keep telling me they are out of stock.

Not all 8db or 9db are created equal. I've seen the vertical open angle for the McGills are like 10deg or something for the 9db.. this seems like the case in your situation.. you miss most of the hex's adjacent to you.. but you hit the downtown core area hex'es.. HOWEVER, I did not look.. but if the adjacent to your tile ones have higher transmit score.. its better to witness those than the hex's inside downtown.. (which lowers your rewards)... In contrast.. I believe theres some other brands that have a slightly larger vertical open angle.. thus allowing you to get ones that are closer.. I thought POC11 lowers your db to like 8? or is it 9? also, your 9db is really 9db after a) loss due to length of cable and b) transmitting through the wall in your attic.. I'm guessing its like around 7db or so..

Everyone's profit started to go down because the network was updating from PoC 10 to Poc 11. They then experienced too many issues and switched back to PoC 10. Until they can release a more stable PoC 11. Which one of the new features in the update is going to be a witness limit to 10 max.

Does the signal of a 9 dbi Directional Antenna go further than a 9 dbi Omnidirectional antenna or are they the same?

Both my hotspots ; Hidden Champagne Camel and Lively Foggy Salamander. Are not getting any witness. I have a 8 dbi rac antenna hidden champagne and im still not reaching anyone. The highest I can safely go is about 10 ft. Im in a suburban neighborhood. Do you think this 9 dbi directional would help? I may be able to install both in the attic for maybe another 10 ft of height. Even with the antenna in the attic like that do you think it’s being restricted?

LCom 9dBi antenna says 900 MHz while Helium supports 915MHz for North America. Would that make any difference?

Hey! Curious how you’ve clamped your patch onto the boom arm? With the boom arm you linked, is there clams that come with the boom arm that’ll let me screw down to the back of the patch? I’m planning on doing this with a 2 miner deployment and testing to see whether or not running 2 miners in the same location but both using patches will make it possible to earn without scaling each other down (because their transmissions won’t be omnidirectional they “shouldn’t” be able to talk to each other).

@HODLHelium when you ordered that antenna how long did it take to arrive? I just put out my first miner but my residence is in a bad transmit zone and there's no way to re assert it into the green zone as the closest is about 3 miles away. So im thinking using a directional may be my best option for my current location, at least as far as i know to this point.

1)Does this antenna require a PoE Injector and a PoE Splitter in order to set up to a Bobcat minor? Or is your configuration in need of these components for some other reason? 2) Is there a lightning protector built-in or do you need to install that separately like with the smaller Dbi Minors?

The closest helium miners in my area are approximately 5 kilometers away. Why would you say is the farthest these antennas will reach.

This is an awful set of advice. Everyone has a different situation. I have houses in every direction with them and the 9dbi would suck. 5.8 Dbi is the sweet spot for me. I put it on my roof which is about 4 meters high and make .6 hnt a day now up to 1. Go watch more antenna videos. Literally every situation is different and no antenna is one size fits all.
