Do you recognize when you have been emotionally triggered? Do you know your patterns of behavior? What triggers you and why you respond the way you do? In this video series on emotional triggers and trauma, I explain how we can have over-reactions or under-reactions to emotional triggers and how our reactions may be connected to past traumatic experiences. Most people are aware of being emotionally triggered if they have a significantly painful, angry, anxious or depressed reaction to something, someone or a certain situation. In this video, I review nine categories of emotional triggers that cover most of what I have witnessed in my clients. Although, we can be triggered by just about anything that reminds our senses of past trauma. Once you can identify your emotional triggers, and possibly have some awareness of your reaction being linked to past trauma, you can begin the process of coping and healing.
