You haven't done this much in this video, but I find that most exterior paint inspiration videos showcase gorgeous homes with lots of architectural features, stone /cedar cladding and lush wrap-around porches. Why not do a video for boring tract houses with few architectural features? Not as much fun to be sure, but a lot of folks like me who live in modest homes just want to be able to relate.
OMG, I'm from St.John's Newfoundland and when you showed the pic of the multi colored apartments, I thought, that looks just like Hillview Terrace Apartments and then you said "unless you're in Amsterdam or Newfoundland"! lol. Thanks for pronouncing it properly, no one does. And... I own a vibrant blue bungalow!!
Love these colors but it would be awesome to see paint colors that work for a house that is mostly in the shade. I have a big trees that result in the house not getting a lot of direct sunlight throughout the day.
My house is a gray green. I love it. All the trim is white .I want to keep the base color. It is a high pitched style with dormers. What color should I paint the trim near the roofline and what color for garage and window trim. The roof is black. No room for shutters.😢
I am just getting ready to paint our exterior house. Looking at the daring Urbane Bronze with lime wash brick below. still have no clue on what color on garage door.
Why does your background look like my high school picture? Why do you love gray so much? I'm putting SW Bungalow Beige and Alabaster on my home (with stone veneer), with Craft Paper on my front door.
I moved back to the states from the Caribbean a few years ago. I just can’t get over the bland exterior of the homes here. I feel so much more vibrant when I see lots of colors. I love a yellow house for example. But coral and turquoise is nice to see as well.
We were limited by our unfortunate roof color of a bricky browny orange. Went with BM Seattle Mist and Deep Creek trim and away from the 80s yellow and chocolate. So wish we had replaced the roof with black when we did it.. what was I thinking??? happy with the new colors though, but was so limited
Hi Paint people, Can you suggest which exterior looks better! upto first floor we get stones Heritage Blue ridge stone ( dark gray) vs Grey rubble lime stone( light gray), which one is best for look wise and exterior paint we go with lighter color like worldly gray vs Dorian gray or any dark color? Can you give some ideas?
Please help I have a yellow/orangish body color house, white trim. I put a darkish red door on it. I’m getting a new roof (black sable Owens Corning. They will do roof trim from white to black to match the black sable. I have white pillars and white frames around my windows. Should I change this white trim to something else? I have a deep darkish almost burgundy door help lol
Hi James! This is off topic but could you talk sometime about putting 2 colors on a wall divided by a chair railing and some ideas for that? My dining room is PPG shimmering seas and it's too bright all around so I was thinking about maybe changing it to SW sea salt on the top or bottom? Super off topic but maybe you and your wife could talk about women's fragrances lol..you are my favorite person to watch talk about anything!
Hi Casey, it's so nice to have some "frag folks" watching over here now lol. I think those colors would look great and absolutely, you got a chair railing, might as well have some fun with it. You could also change up the sheen?
I need colors for my house is old and I wanted look new but my from door is caoba I don’t want to painting that door so any idea is one floor and is in Florida can you help Meee pls
I’m from Las Vegas, the land of tan and brown stucco. I have a stucco, Mediterranean style home. I think I have my main body colors narrowed down to, renwick beige, smoky beige, perfect greige and balanced beige. I have a warm brown roof with purple undertones, warm stone facade and red gravel outside. Thoughts?
Oh hi Tess! Love Vegas! These are all great choices! I gravitate towards perfect greige because I think it will go with the roof while allowing the gravel to pop. But all those colors could work. Still test them out.
I ended up going with Balanced Beige on the body, Kestrel White on the trim, Tavern Taupe on the garage and fascia and Storm Cloud on the front door. Looks beautiful, but if I could change anything I think I would’ve done Foothills on the garage and fascia.
I really need some help. I have a brown metal roof,3 sides of light yellow siding and white brick. I would love to paint the bright a different color but have no idea what color would look great. Could u help please? Thank you
@@thepaintpeople I be been looking at blues, I’ve been trying to do something for 2 years. I have no imagination at all. If maybe you could give me a few choices . I’m also painting 2 bathrooms, all ceilings and a master bedroom and bath. In the bedroom I’d like a ocean green color other than that I’m flexible. Thank you for the help
@@thepaintpeople the exterior. My house has a coastal exterior feel which is perfect since I'm in Miami. I don't like to follow the trend. Any advice would be appreciated.
Several years ago a neighbor painted their house a a bright midtone blue periwinkle. The color was some what shocking to the eyes. Over time the color dulled and faded in the Texas sun. In our old neighborhood someone painted their house a very ugly, I mean unique pinkish mauve. We later met the owner. He said he and his buddies drunk painted the house. The color should have been a burgundy. The house was repainted a better color. Thanks
Boring choices. With possible exception of Jasper. Then the complimentary trim colors clash. Again mostly boring whites. A heads up - white is stark and garish on a house. Not a one of these color schemes is inspiring.
