Xyz Poseidon Splash is searchable by Astraltopia, Generation Force, and Xyz Force. Remember, the GY effect can summon ANY Aqua monster. So if Sharks have the ability to send any WATER monster from the deck to GY, they can summon out the WATER Barrier Statue
@JustNutzProd Consistency is consistency. Especially when they work together. Astraltopia can search Xyz Force or be used as material before getting WATER locked, Generation Force is searchable by Thrust and can search Xyz Force or Xyz Slidolphin if you need extension.
@@ChrisMayerbigyuh I’m not too big of a fan, it requires you to already play and get to an xyz, and it only searches a setup conditional extender. Just would rather focus on consistency in a deck like sharks
First time Konami did the this monster can be treated as 2 xyz material thing on a card. Glad they are experimenting with this. Before it was always an extra copy from hand or deck
@@SavateWolf man if only the equip spells destroyed themselves to activate their effects so that you could destroy their now affected monsters that are all the same attribute. Sadly we will never be able to do that 🙁
○Big Jaws is phenomenal, an extender that also doubles as an starter. Insta 3-of. ○Drake is fine, I could see it being played at 1 but not in all lists because Big Jaws has betterer targets. ○Armored is weird. I know that it's supposed to dump Rebarian Shark to stack the seventh one, but the deck doesn't play any natural lvl 3 monster, it's all 4 and 5 and I don't see any water r4nk with a decent gy effect. It's gy effect is good though, so I dunno if I would play it, despite being searchable. ○Shark Drake Leviathan is... fine? like on a vaccum seems decent, an imperm-like effect that makes something 0, it can attack twice and piercing, facilitating OTK's (and I believe the 2 good shark 5 facilitates this by doubling something and halving another one) but here's the issue, if you want to play this, you MUST play main deck Drake to not go too minus into making OG Drake, and you have to play OG Drake and have an spell in hand, so takes 2 slots in the Extra (bad thing, the deck has a tight extra) forces your hand into having a spell and you have to play an optional card if you don't want to go too minus. ○Levirtue Dragon it's fine. I like it because it can give you a disruption and follow-up. Also it's another target for Bahamut (which is great for OCG and MD since Toad is banned there and the only target for it is the Armored rank3) making that card flexible and "spammable" once more. ○Surface Aqua Jet... White mirror already exists and I feel like it's a betterer card. Both aren't searchable. Surface can target more monster than just fish, but Mirror can give you either extension or follow-up. Mirror doesn't lock you in any way but Jet can summon from hand. ○Unveil Mail I guess it's betterer than the other Armored Spell, so you can search that instead, but both spells are kinda bad, not gonna lie. ○Virtue stream is pretty decent, mostly because you can get it for free. It's essentially Blackout but for sharks. ○XYZ Poseidon Splash is kinda whatever. Does the deck improves with this support? yes, the weakest part of the deck got an upgrade, that being the main deck. But it will see more play in the TCG rather than OCG or MD, because of no roach and yes toad.
Unveil Mail lets you quick xyz once per turn instead of once per activation Shark Drake isn't that bad either if trying to make a more simplified version of the deck. Stealth Kraken is only a Raigeki that needs its Spawns to revive itself. If you take away a lot of the extra decks fluff you'll have the room and it will be better for it.
Tbh i kinda like the new shark drake because of its interaction with abyss shark, abyss has a clause that says a number battling doubles damage so with this new guy dropping others to zero and attacking twice plus piercing. Could be otk, and the level 4 drake shark is nice to play probably like any poplar at two due to white mirror
Daddy Shark gonna be cooking with some of these cards. Really cool Xyz Armored Torpedo has more search targets besides the trap and spell. GUNDAM SHARKS BEST DECK!
Btw you can use both of the traps effect in the same turn. It's a good card and the 2nd effect to change something to water does hurt a lot of decks (i.e. after promethean princess revives something, turn one of them into water so they cant make raging phoenix and have to make amblowhale if they play it - which a lot of fire players have cut out).
The new icarus attack seems great with Stealth Kragen. You target kragen on your field and pop 2 opponents cards, then use kragens effect to summon the kragen spawn. At that point kragen's attribute changing effect isn't there anymore but if you use the traps GY effect you can pop another monster with the spawn.
I think the new Leviathan makes the deck be a one-card OTK with the Armored Xyz package as the Rank 5 Armored Xyz equipped to it gives it double battle damage. Also the Rank 7 Armored Xyz adds an 'Xyz" card from grave to hand, so technically you can search Poseidon Splash with extra steps.
Sharks can't be lower than tier 1.5 now. Its doing things a lot of other tier 1 decks are doing now but in their own way. You don't have to run a lot of Toadally Awesome anymore because you can play on your opponents turn. Thus allowing you to play under Nibiru instead of around or through it. This frees up the extra deck by allowing you to take unnecessary cards out. You can have 1 I:P and 2 S:P and still be able to have 12 extra deck slots for Xyz monsters.
Reincarnate Unveil Armor can be equipped to Shark Drake to have it attack twice then quick XYZ into Leviathan during the battle phase by bouncing the equip spell to hand which will be discarded as cost for that effect. During the end phase it is equipped to the Leviathan which can then be used to make the Armored XYZ boss monster. Edit I forgot to mention this but this is an OTK combo. Also by Leviathan I meant Shark Drake Leviathan.
I got a playset of White Mirror, this about to go crazy with White Shark. And no... I think Salamngreat Meer was Poplar before Poplar, but... Eh, why not...
Correct me if im wrong but isnt baby drake isnt it the first card to have the effect of being treated as two materials if so thats gonna be interesting for future support and archtypes
It existed in lots of cards in the anime, but they changed them to "summon another copy of this card" instead, so this is technically the first one in TCG.
It is. Only Rush Duel has even a remotely similar effect, which is on Blue-Eyes Vision Dragon, which can be used as 2 material for a fusion summon of Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
The main reason to play XYZ-Hyper Dragon Cannon is the deck naturally wants to play into Nibiru and Cannon let's you bring up to 3 monsters back after being Nibbed. People have already made it even better by adding the Fiendsmith package. Technically all decks that are just focused on making Caesar only have to run The Fiendsmith and Sanctus. This can be a 4-6 card package. At very worst you still get to make Beatrice and you can setup with Moon Goddess of the Closed World. Moon Goddess is how decks with no or to little fiends will eventually be able to play the Fiendsmith package. Any deck that can afford to make Moon Goddess can make Requiem. This allows a lot of other decks easy access to Caesar. You can even go as far as to use the Fiendsmith package in White Woods because they won't spell/traps. But my point is that your combos go through so many cards that people are going to struggle to figure out were to use Nibiru and if they do they might be stopped by Caesar anyways.
Hate it when people say cards that can special themselves when added to hand outside of drawing "poplars." They should be called "Lilybells" as Trickstar Lilybell was the first notable card have that effect. Poplar simply copied Lilybell's homework, then accused Lilybell of stealing in front of the class. Can you tell how much I hate Snake-Eyes, especially Poplar yet?
@@JustNutzProd I am fully aware of that, I just wish to see a bone thrown to trickstar for once with terms for common effects. Maybe it's because I play both trickstar and marincess almost exclusively. On that note, I think aqua angel is a great card, but not at all bannable. Sure, hand knowledge is unbelievably powerful, but every card that gave that currently banned was also able to rip a card from the hand in the process. I'd definitely play it in both decks, since it can give me an idea of how to best navigate a duel if I know what I'm up against provided I know what the deck does. Diffusion seems more threatening on account of making a single reincarnation handloop in the standby phase with the link effect for bloom (the link one finally has a purpose)
LETS GO SHARKS WE RUN THE SEA FORGET FIRE they’ll be washed up before you know it but still need to watch out for the dimensional barrier, warning point or anything that can lock us out the extra deck wish we had a boss monster outside the extra deck ngl
Something to note The equip spell is more flexible than the current spell and its better discard fodder for utopic ray lancer or the new C32 Also the rank up effect is to do a 4 attack shark drake but C32 alone makes us otk so hard that we *out damage tenpai dragon*
In terms of use in other strategies, Big Jaws makes mini-shark packages a bit better in decks like Umi that use a lot of spell cards. Unfortunately, there aren't many ways to turn the extra body into advantage since there aren't many good water xyz monsters that need 3-4 material, so you'll have to figure out something to do with it. Virtue stream has some potential use in Umi as well - the Icarus effect is worded such that you can scoop your target off the field with Sea Stealth, and the opponent's cards still get destroyed. I'd rather use Bahamut to make Toad over Levirtue though, so this might be a Master Duel-only tech.
I'm really thinking that building this deck as a pure OTK strategy could be viable(yes it can certainly go first but many other water decks can already do that with some success). The new C32 along with the Armor xyz package allows for massive damage, and if you can get a Nightmare Shark on the field at the same time then you can just attack directly for game. This actually might be the best OTK water focused archetype that we have ever had.
My thoughts: Yes, "Shark" is officially an archetype! I'm wondering if Drake Shark counts as two materials when detaching itself. Also, finally, we have a Shark allowing us to interact with the opponents' Spell/Traps. Yeah, I was a bit disappointed by the new Shark Drake too. Levirtue Dragon/Virtue Stream is going in both my Xyz Armored Shark and Mermail Deck. Reincarnate Unveil Mail is great for going second and winning the duel on the spot with BOTH Shark Drakes, essentially allowing you to attack four times with one monster. Also, when I saw "Mail," I legit thought it was going to be a Mermail card, lol. And Generation Force is the name of the spell card that let's you search any Xyz card, as long as you control an Xyz monster. Now I'm off to make some new proxies 😅.
If it's anything like the anime (where the "two materials" effect is common), drake shark is treated as 2 materials for the summon, but is only 1 material when attached to a monster - since that text only applies to it being used in an xyz summon.
@@jaernihiltheus7817 That's what I was thinking. Aw, what a shame. Looks like we'd have to run Veiss if we want to use the Spell/Traps absorbing effect twice...
Arc V Jack Atlas has some more support other than Soul Fist coming to. If I had to guess, probably these cards: • Brutal Red (Monster) • Red Gargoyle (Monster) • Red Giant (Monster) • Red Reborn (Spell) • Red Crystal (Trap) • Vision's Synchro (Trap) • Red Vanish (Trap) • Red Gazer (Trap) • Over the Red (Trap) • Invalidate (Trap)
@@mystery8820 In the anime, I believe it doubled a Red Dragon Archfiend's ATK whenever it's ATK changes, and then banishes a Red Dragon Archfiend from the GY to add it's ATK to the target.
@@tommcburney301 If it were real, it needs to work on RDA or monsters that mention it... and you can activate it the turn you Set it if you control SPECIFICALLY RDA.
For the last 1,5 years I've been out of the game due to not much Interesting new cards for anime archetypes (for me personally), but now with this, ancient gear, and Blue-eyes I get interested again
Not that he’s not that hard to make, he’s just not worth the extra deck slots when we already have bahamut & kragen, which to me still seem better. Deck doesn’t struggle otking, so I don’t know that this card offers anything the deck needs
I dont think you know that much about sharks if you say surface aqua jet good (while mirror exist) and no place for a negate with C32. You have no place? Mby because we had the Nash package + armored package... I think the Nash package can go now. Nobody plays kragens token. Armored xyz take 3 slots. Now you have a potential otk beast with a negate that can pierce and reduce to 0. Even if you say bahamut kragen are better this card is still a negate which we cant make in md (free toad plz). So if you dont have slots for these 2 mby look again at your extradeck and discard the 2 cards you rarely go to
lol I didn’t say we didn’t have space, just that I’m not sure he’s a must have auto play it card. I’d rather make bahamut or kragen over him in most situations, so he just might be a little redundant at that point and not worth making room for
Also the discarding a spell rubs me the wrong way, if you don’t resolve fortress to add a spell, that is either unreliable or forcing you to pitch a spell you’d rather have. For a boss monster that doesn’t impress me much
@@JustNutzProdhm I just realized you still should run at least 1 spawn for kragen because the trap card triggers krager (thought it tributes but it destroys)... Still we make room for the 32s
Shark had the problem of not really getting anything in his own season, especially since legacy support was almost always Photon/Galaxy or Utopia/Onomatopoeia. Shark in the past couple years has had 3 support waves to make up for this, which is a lot, but kinda needed imo. Dude was the 3rd most important character in the show and his deck for a long time was Bahamut make Toad pass.
11:36 also can this be used for the new C32? Battle with Drake, return the equip spell, then discard the equip to rank up, then equip from by to the newly ranked up xyz
@@jasonjokerx3773 Yeah. There's a certain order of releases with the themes Konami made structure decks on that isn't nostalgia anime bait or from OCG's Structure Deck poll on their official website.
For the record- the Atlantean reloaded structure deck has been trademarked for a while now(along with a chaos dragon structure deck). It's coming out soon, we just need to wait and hope it's as crazy as the fire king one.
It's really sad that Drake Shark is the first card that counts as 2 material. There are so many xyz that would be leagues better if they had an associated extender that lowered their cost.
Sadly no, not really. Not because they are bad mind you, but because Marincess doesn't really have the space for it. Still, some janky build could work if tested enough so idk?
T.T Dude sry if you didnt know but Xyz armor Torpedo is already the retrain... you will have to wait much longer for a second retrain bro. But we got C32 dude be happy lets gooo
C32 is rly good bro what do you mean. He is good going first and second. Doesnt require that much room in your extradeck like other shark xyz we re going into rn like the armored and nash stuff. Sharks rn have so many ways of making rank 4s and now its even easier. We had so many disruptions already but a monster negate wasnt there well if you play tcg you got toad but md rip my boy (fuck that b*tch spright elf). Na dude the longer I look at these cards the more I think shark will get so much better. Take a second look
Why would they make a C37? It's a manga card, there are no chaos cards in the manga. This stuff is clearly supposed to be referencing the anime deck Shark used. Also making No. 37 "despair" ruins the meaning behind the name.
