NGL renting jewelry is lowkey the smartest idea that rappers have come up with. 1) they dont waste their money on useless jewelry that has no resale value other than its material weight. 2) they get to keep up appearances at a fraction of the cost 3) they can have a rotating selection of jewelry, making it seem like they can afford to hit the jewelry store on a conistent basis 4) they cant get caught wearing fake kewelry And its also a win win situation for the jeweler 1) they can have a consistent flow of clients and bring in new ones that ca t afford to buy jewelry outright 2) they can make it seem as if theyre constantly selling jewelry to famous people and their business is so legit that the same rappers keep coming in to purchase new pieces even though in reality theyre just renting. 3) The jeweler doesnt loose money bc they can keep re-melting the same pieces and creating new ones 4) i magine there's some setup fee to cover the labor costs of handcrafting each piece of jewelry, and the rapper pays that for each new piece they get. And probably insurance so that if a broke rapper loses a piece of jewelry, the jeweler still gets paid . 5) the jeweler can take more risks investing into new merchandise knowing that they can make a profit on it even if it does t sell outright. 6) whe the value of the gold increases, the jeweler doesn't need to purchase more gold at an increased price. He can Use his existing supply of gold from pieces that are returned by customers. So even though the profits keep coming in, his suplly of gold doesnt diminish, so he doesnt need to buy more gold at higher prices
