26:15 I HAVE CREATED A T SHIRT WITH THIS MACHINE YOU JUST KIND OF HAVE TO MESS WITH THE TENSION WHEN YOU HAVE THICKER MATERIAL YOU WANT TO LOOSEN, WITH THINNER MATERIAL TIGHTEN. TINKER WITH IT. IT WORKS FOR ME. OR YOU CAN ALWAYS PUT SOME BAKING PAPER UNDERNEATH AND SIMPLY RIP IT OFF ONCE FINISHED

OK.. ive got to tell you this. Been watching a little bit, maybe since covid. I had an ikea sewing machine I thought was a dud so gave up. However week after week i'd see your pieces and I knew I had a bucket load of clothing that needed simple alterations.. hemming and waist (I usually buy too big because the sizes are never consistent and then alter as needed). So eventually I took it the damn sewing machine out and realised I was threading the bobbin the wrong way. Post this, I've altered everything I have and I'm looking to start cutting up items that no longer fit/arent my style anymore. This was 10000% because I saw your videos and decided to just sort it out. Youre amazing. Hat of to you! 💛💜🧡

Very helpful. Watching Angelina struggle with problems while sewing helped me understand a lot more about how to be patient, to predict better which fabrics my sewing machine can handle, and to stay away from handheld machines. Beginner sewers who use hand-held machine to "test" their interest in sewing are likely to be very frustrated. It shouldn't be that hard ... and yes, the problems that were in this video are some of the problems sewers do sometimes experience but only rarely, like if a bobbin isn't threaded clearly. Apparently, there is some kind of plate or plastic that can be adhered to the throat of your machine that makes it easier to sew "slippery" fabrics. I'd like more videos from Angelina about other commonly used tools for upcycling. Learning about seam rippers with blades that can be changed was a game-changing, I actually engage taking seams apart now.

I got one of these for my mom for Christmas except it's made by Singer. I got it for her so she didn't have to take out her full size sewing machine when doing repairs and she really likes how convienient it is. It's not made for entire projects, just small things like repairs or adjusting seems, and for that it does well. I'd suggest getting a name brand one rather than this particular one.

thank u so much for ur videos. Im a BW in my early thirties and I have natural hair and am suffering from hair loss. And I started buying headwraps, however they are very expensive (to me). I have been spending about $30 per headwrap. Therefore, I decided to start making my own and felt that it would be simple. I watched your other review on the handheld machine and decided to get one from Michaels. This was the first time I used a handheld machine and it was a little challenging for me as a complete beginner to sewing. I had a little trouble gathering the thread so I could cut it once I sewed a straight line. It was fun though and I made a really quick bandana with it, that Im going to wear to work tomorrow. But Im definitely going to get a better machine. I just wanted to know if I was going to like sewing in general. But thanks so much for ur videos :)

OMG that was painful to watch! hats off for being so patient, I would have quit half way through :) but it's quite a good review of the sewing machine and I'm sure it was helpful for the people who are considering buying one. Personally, I'd buy a really cheap classic sewing machine, save up money if needed, but not bother with this one. Thanks for going through this for your subscribers :)

I don't know how practical or possible, but I'd pay up for a little portable sewing machine that could lock stitches, handle knits and had a seam guide (hems). Sew a zipper in would be a bonus. I'm space challenged and just don't have room for much more. Basically, something I can throw into a suitcase.

I am giggling through this whole video. My son just gave me this exact machine for Christmas. It was such a sweet, thoughtful gift, but giving this to a pro sewer is like giving a pro mechanic a butter knife instead of a screwdriver. My son and I were chuckling as we were trying it out on repairing his dog's toys. It failed also, but he said I might find its use. That will be a shelf decoration.
@JustinDAMusic

Maybe instead of giggling through the video you should watch and learn how to use the machine. It does okay for little jobs. A poor workman always blames his tools.

Save a little more coin and do the right thing. However, I was surprised at what the little machine actually could do! The silky fabric probably needs a thinner needle and fine thread just like a regular sewing machine. Thanks for toughing it out! 💜

I got this as a gift and was very thankful I bumped into this video! It was super helpful. I don't think I want to invest that much in a sewing machine right now since it will take up a lot of space and some of the tutorials I have seen never do hand stitching so I was at a loss haha. I can look at this and be more patient and figure out what I like and dont

Good to see a real life review. This machine struggles to carry the fabric forward and gets stuck, especially with soft fabric material . It is very limited to sew two pieces of plain clothes only. Unfortunately it may not help you on the most of daily situations. Thanks for the video

This looks like it uses the same type of chain stitch mechanism that is in ‘kid sewing machines’ My niece was gifted one a couple years back and I felt kind of sorry for her because 90% of the time she spent on it was coming to me to troubleshoot issues. Time she could’ve spent getting familiar with a regular sewing machine which would’ve been more fun. So worth it to get a cheap full-sized sewing machine instead of any of these.
@careyostrer6193

Thanks for the real demonstration. It looked difficult! Esp to manage straight lines with just one hand so you can’t easily keep it straight, and I wanted to make sheer curtains from slippery fabric, think it would be quicker to hand sew them! And I have a houseful of curtains….boring! Thanks again!

I would guess that it can't do lighter fabrics because the fabric doesn't offer enough resistance to the thread to catch it and keep the stitch

Can you put a ball point needle in the machine to get thru the tshirt fabric & the pink fabric which may be a tightly woven or stretchy fabric? Also another trick to stretchy fabric is to put a strip of tissue paper under the fabric to get it to feed thru then stitch thru fabric & paper, or maybe on top of the fabric for this chain stitching machine.

The thread thats hanging out when you first start sewing is supposed to be on the opposite side of the bobber, i noticed when you started sewing the leather side you had it hanging on the side the bobber is on.

The reason why certain fabrics dont work is as the needle goes down through the material it has to hold the thead down on the downward needle thrust so in soft fabric it wont stay down for a catcher piece thats in the bottom arm also wont have thread to complete the stitch because the first piece of thread must be left down for the next thrust as it goes through the fabric to the loop left behind and so on , easy pleasey.

Uuuuugh, I HATE these things, lol! I’m an experienced seamstress and designer, and used to work at fabric stores. Whenever a customer would come to me and ask about these machines (usually because they were too cheap to invest in an actual sewing machine) I would always discourage them especially if they were buying it for a younger person wanting to learn how sew. Beyond putting a hideous stitch on the hem of your pants even with matching thread, or to make cheap cotton throw pillows, this gadget in my opinion is ABSOLUTELY useless! I’m a firm believer that one of the best life skills you can acquire is learning how to sew both by hand and with a REAL sewing machine, meaning learning various basic stitching techniques, using elastics, making button holes, installing zippers. Needless to say, every time a customer would bring that dreadful thing to me to buy, she would actually end up leaving the store with a brand new starter machines, basic notions, fabrics and thread to get started on first projects which I recommended for beginners. I would even tell them to come back so I could see how their projects turned out. It was like talking them off of the ledge and bringing them back into the light, lol!

Lost In Outer Space was a TV show (before movie) and I still use the phrase when something looks dicey and sometime do the robot (copying B-9 movements)while saying "Danger Will Robinson. I watch that show every day while I was a child. And it a big no to this gadget, because it too temperamental and will probably end up as trash. I don't like that you actually have to try to keep a straight line with no guidance on the contraption. It could be really good at hemming sleeves.

For making clothes, I'd just use my big sewing machine. I'll be giving mine a test run tonight with the lightweight denim jeans I bought. They need about 3 inches taken off the hem so it should work OK with them. Subscribed.
