I appreciate what they've done and continue to do for me, but I don't support their parenting techniques. It often felt like mental abuse. Also, my parents were immigrants. My dad wanted to be a doctor, but he thought that since he was an immigrant he couldn't do it, since not many people accept that much immigrants, sadly. I like to think that I got a chance to be a doctor, unlike my dad. (He's an engineer, but he wanted to be a doctor) So in a way, they just want the best for you.

It’s actually impossible to know you can’t do something; don’t say I can’t, say I will! And try to remember that grades do not define you, they’re supposed to simply help you understand where you need improvement, and will give you more options for college and other opportunities. Grades are really only numbers/letters; real “bragging material” is to have a passion for something you love and work very hard for it to improve yourself and the lives of people around you. Most of this is pretty straightforward, but sometimes we forget. To me we should form strong, good opinions for ourselves so that negative opinions from other people don’t affect us except that we take it as “constructive criticism”. I’m probably not helping much but I hope the best for you; good luck!! 🍀
