These commercials aired on USA in July of 1995
1. USA Cartoon Express Commercial Bumper
2. Marshmallow Alpha Bits (With free Looney Tunes Stickers!)
3. Twix
4. Fruity Pebbles (With Bedrock Shop offers)
5. Blair Outlet
6. Sun Super Saving Center (It's surreal to see footage of the racks of audio cassettes they used to have at stores like these. As a kid they were commonplace...and now they don't exist anywhere at all)
7. Promo for "8 Movies In August"
8. Promo for "Highlander: The Animated Series"
9. USA Cartoon Express Commercial Bumpers
10. Golden Grahams (With buy one get one free Six Flags ticket offer)
11. Sci-Fi Channel (Wow/yikes at that CG animation. I think this was about the time our cable provider picked this channel up on basic cable...I remember my first exposure to the original "Star Trek" and "In Search Of" being through here)
12. Monster Bash
13. USA Cartoon Express Commercial Bumper
14. "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero": "Knowing Is Half The Battle"/End Credits
15. USA Cartoon Express Commercial Bumper
16. Rice Krispies Treats Cereal
17. TV Spot for "Operation Dumbo Drop" (It's weird to see letterboxing on a TV spot from back then)
18. "In A Minute..." PSA
19. Kool Aid Flavor Mania (With mail away Kool Aid Pogs!)
20. "In A Minute..." Commercial Bumper
21. Take A Bite Out Of Crime PSA
22. Promo for "Weird Science"
23. USA Cartoon Express Commercial Bumper

I miss Alpha Bits cereal. They don’t make them anymore, let alone as marshmallows.

Really glad the kid avoided that danger in the G.I Joe PSA. The guy on the phone didn't even have eye sockets lol.

The Highlander cartoon gave me sleeping issues when I was a kid... Staying up late every night waiting for it to come on. (parents mistakenly kept a tv in my room)

I had that Scruff comic, spoilers, all the situations resolve favorably and everyone lives happily ever after.

Ah, the USA Cartoon Express. It had a lot of my favorite cartoons on it at various times. Pac-Man, He-Man, She-Ra, TMNT, and lots of others. They had cartoons spanning over a decade. Not all of them were good ones, but a lot were. One of the things that impressed me most about it, in general, was the fact they had the characters from the cartoons animated into their commercial bumps. I really missed it when it was gone.

Tornado1994 Now that you mention it, I do remember them showing the Snorks a lot. Its pretty cool that they saved the show like that.

Even if I lived in Malaysia then, we had those kind of cartoons and ads on TV. So I feel like I can relate to many North-Americans.

Wait, why did they replace the music in the end credits with the music from DIC's G.I. Joe series? Did USA run both the Sunbow and DIC series in one package?

Wow, didn't know USA re-broadcast G.I.Joe in the 90's? Admittedly I didn't wtahc alot of USA anyway so I guess I missed it.

USA ought to revive the Cartoon Express..though impossible since we have Cartoon Network & Boomerang SciFi Channel-back when they showed good programming B.S(Before Sharknado LOL) speaking of GI Joe,that Street Fighter cartoon USA showed kind of was a cross between that and Mission Impossible(even though they based it off of the JCVD movie)

To me, "Operation Dumbo Drop" is a pretty shoddy, and rubbishy Vietnam War film. Quoth Janet Maslin of the New York Times: "The model for this is a lot closer to 'McHale's Navy'...then it is to 'Platoon'.
@80sCommercialVault
@80sCommercialVault 8 лет назад
+Matthew Moran It's a kids movie about dropping an elephant out of an airplane. Why would you even go into the theater expecting something close to "Platoon"?
@matthewmoran5297
@matthewmoran5297 8 лет назад
80sCommercialVault Because "Platoon" was a better depiction of life, during the Vietnam war. The problem with "Operation Dumbo Drop" is that the Vietnam war is not the kind of war that can be toned down for children, like WWII, or WWI. It was much more visceral, and psychologically scarring than WWII, and WWI, plus it also had a much longer length than both wars combined. So, believe me, if you want a more realistic depiction of 'Nam, watch movies like "Platoon", "Full Metal Jacket", "Apocalypse Now", "The Deer Hunter", and "Born On The Fourth Of July". Or, if you want to dive into movies about the effects that 'Nam had, watch "First Blood", and "Jacob's Ladder".

+Matthew Moran While I agree with some of what you're saying, maybe you shouldn't be looking for an accurate depiction of Vietnam in a children's film. I wouldn't criticize M*A*S*H for being an inaccurate portrayal of the Korean war. Also, Vietnam was more psychologically scarring than WWI? Tell that to this guy: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S7Jll9_EiyA.html

80sCommercialVault Well..at least M*A*S*H didn't rely on only slapstick for it's humor. Well, 'Nam did last longer than WWI.
