90s CSX YN2 K5LA Decimates A NC P5 At Altoona 2021. (3 different angles)

This was a horn battle that wasn’t even planned. I ran a horn up through the tunnel to the other side of the mountain. On the return, I ran into a fellow collector on a run. When I got the light to proceed back, I ran saw Phil’s truck approach the mouth of the tunnel and ripped the valve open. He wasn’t going to blow the light and run through, the driveway in one of the clips is the one we use to turn our rigs around after we complete a run so he pulled forward for headroom in order to back up into that driveway. The battle was caught on 3 different angles. Enjoy

I remember a engineer back in 2009 laid on the K5LA (MBTX 1005) drowning out the sound of a K3LA (MBTX 1630). Sweet video! The K5LA is badass🤘

Bet that was a sight to see! Thanks man! It’s an animal for a 90s (presumably early 90s) horn. Most of the time the 5 bell is silent on those but certainly not in this case.

K5LA vs K5LA never goes well dude lol. It becomes too hard to distinguish which is what horn.

Best horn battle ever! That K5LA sounds magical, the brassy P5 sounds great too. Decimate is correct, this was pure awesomeness!

@@easternroutemainlinevideos6823 yeah I love this video too my dude. I’m going to try replacing the diaphragm pack in the 5 to delete the horns warble. If I don’t like it, I’ll just put the old pack back in!

Personally I like the warble. Gives it a unique sound to make it it stand out. I know some collectors would disagree with my statement, however I’m well aware too much of it could mess with the other bells.
