It’s funny to hear you refer to your work as amateur. I am an engineer by education and profession, but working on a car in the garage, I am an amateur. So as an amateur, I don’t have any formal training in automotive repair, and I often make mistakes as I work through a disassembly sequence or rebuild. Knowing myself as an amateur when working around cars, I can honestly say you are not an amateur. Unlike me, you have a natural instinct to figure out how to disassemble, repair, and reassemble an automotive component or sub-assembly. You are a real professional in this field of interest, which is why watching someone like yourself working on a car project is so interesting to an amateur like myself.
