Just got the Beast home from the dyno shop. Had to take it on the road. I had no seat and I was filming! 520 hp at rear wheels and it was starving for gas. Awesome car!
My favorite was the 5.0 LX of the early 90's. Those were my college years and everywhere you looked you saw a 5.0. Now they are rare and if you do find one it is usually beat up. Really nice car.
This car is amazing. These foxbody cars are starting to get harder to find and lots of guys (including myself) are looking for and buying clean/straight ones to restore. They have a nostalgic factor about them that just makes me smile and feel good. Light weight and can be ignorant fast for cheap. This car sounds so good too. Way better than the new 5.0 sounds in my opinion.
My 4 yr old son loves this video. He's seen it more times than I can count. He says "that's just like daddy's mustang." Sweet car - I've always loved the red '93 Cobras. I have a Black/black 93 Cobra with twin turbo 347, MMR Tremec 900, '04 Cobra brakes, etc. It's nearly finished... working on the fuel system install next. Would love to get more details on your combo.
The interior of the 90s Fox's were actually pretty decent when compared to the competition like the camaro. Everything was simple and exactly where it should be.
+anthony prato One of the sweetest looking Fox-bodies I've seen. This car is absolutely perfect! Good 'ole Virginia Boyz representing the Fox! #CoupeZilla
This was the guy drivings Son and was the first time he had it running from all the work he had just done on the engine. I saw the Dyno "read out" sheet, and it definitely made 520 hp at the rear wheels. It has more than that now. People love to hate. #coupezilla
That car is neither a fighter jet nor a race car. It came with just as many luxuries as the GT did, just with a little more power. The 93 Cobra R was the closest thing to a race car you could get at the time.
@@mmjnice97 turbo TGDI Ecoboost alot quieter than a supercharger. U lookin at new Ecoboost Mustang? They are sweet & 330hp. Has the sweet 10spd transmission!
@@mmjnice97 Nice man! Good luck. Those are great cars. Had '89 Mustang GT 5.0 when I was HS senior in '90. Now have '04 Stang SVT Cobra 4.6L 32V V8 Supercharged (4900mis). Bought new. Will never sell! Tremec 6spd .
@youcdtube ..The Cobra has the "noisy" version of the Vortech Supercharger. It is sort of like you can get the "noisy" version of the Pete Jackson Gear Drive, which gives the "blower sound". Some people like it and some don't. Thanks for the comment.
The front fenders are pushed out to run the Griggs Racing GR-40 suspension system. The Griggs k-member actually locates the front wheels 1 1/2" farword so you have to push them out.
What size injectors,MAF,and TB? I have a 1990 with a t-trim vortech, 36lb inj 65mmtb and 73mm maf and i think i need to upgrade the fuel system with 42lbs inj. What do you think?
I hope the bearings are just in need of replacement cause that's the loudest vtech I've ever heard. Is the Kenne bell totally silent besides the whistling noise or do the twin screw units get audible gear noise too
Aside from hating on an internet idiot, this car is badass. I'm looking to get a used fox body or notchback on craigslist for my first car. Alot of them are pre customized with things installed to help me save bucks. They range anywhere from 4000-10000. Not too expensive if they have all the guages, a charger, or rims, even new seats and such.
60lb injectors, 90mm mass air and 75mm TB. I upgraded from 42's to 60's with a #8an supply line when I went from a stock block and mild heads to a neutral balanced Boss block and stage 3 high ports. I had the s-trim the whole time. I would would definitely upgrade. I'm currently running out of fuel at 6200rpm with dual 190lph pumps. I'm upgrading again to dual 255lph pumps so I can finish tuning to 7000rpm.
Your guage set up is real nice. I just bought a 1990 LX 5.0 hatchback and want mines similar. What brand are they if you don't mind telling and did you do it yourself or had a shop install them.
I love the whine of a supercharger! My friend in high school his 1st car was just like this 1 well not just like it but it was the same color and it was a '93 Cobra!....lol. His dad owned a few car dealerships. I would love to have that car! He traded it in a Camero a year or 2 later. I wonder what ever happened to that car?
did you get that gauge cluster complete . because i see them with gauges and all the indicator lights foe like 1000 which is expensive. but i also see them just the blank cluster with no indicator lights for like 150 but then you have to get your own gauges. which rout did you go and what gauges are those they look like Auto Meter but the bezels look a little thicker.
The front ground effects where trimmed on the inside and pushed out because the Griggs Racing K member locates the wheels 1" forward so it becomes necessary. The ground effects are stock and only came on the Cobras. Replicas are plentiful though. Thanks!
