Lonely after the death of his wife, Keith Davison has filled his yard with children by installing a pool. Davison's backyard addition is no mere wading pool, at 32 feet long and 9 feet deep under the diving board. kare11.tv/2vTeBoY

If anyone who reads this lives near Judge Davison and uses his pool...consider "paying it forward," in a way - invite Judge Davison over for dinner. Spend some time with him. The man is obviously still sharp as a tack - I bet he's got some stories to tell!

What a beautiful soul of man !! Yes…great suggestions…everyone can rotate with a dinner invitation, or gardening help or cleaning his house help . Teach the young kids to also be appreciative ; they can read with him when winter rolls around …paint and do arts and craft. Around special holidays make sure he’s at your dinner table … like Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4 , etc. Video tape and tape record his stories ….then someone send these clips to Hollywood …Ron Howard …let him make a film about this 94 year old sweet sweet sweet man! God bless this gentleman….He is here to teach us about humanity , love and compassion.

What a wonderful idea and man. My prayer is that God restores me. I"ve promised beyond security and few things, all will go to helping His people. This is a great idea that spreads so much joy and love. It also gives the children a wholesome activity to occupy themselves with to stay out of trouble. What a smart man to solve being lonely by giving to others and being with them to see their joy. I am sure this man will have an influence on these children. When I was a little girl, from four through seven, I visited my elderly neighbor lady, who was about 85, to me ancient at the time. I'm 60 now. She showed me again and again all her wonderful antiques! They were wonderful. We'd sit down and she'd give me a third of a tiny glass of milk with a half small cookie. We'd have a special talk and I'd be on my cheerful way. I developed a love for historic items, antiques. They don't have to be especially valuable, but I love old everything - buildings, trinkets, jewelry, clothing. It also warms my heart to know I cheered her up and she did me in a big way. I didn't have a good family life. That little milk and cookie I only realized years later was because she was poor. She was like the woman in the Bible who gave one mite from her penury. It still makes me cry. She touched my life to help form my character. She was one of the best friends I've had in my whole life. That's what this man will be too to these children. It's not just the pool. They will learn from him and develop kind hearts as his. I had another neighbor retired couple in the other direction. They'd give me a nickel for bringing their mail up and make me feel special talking to them every day. They too were a big highlight and character forming of my childhood. This is what we all need to do as adults. We never know what is going on with the children today who more often have troubled homes and something they are troubled with. This care of attention and kindness goes a long way. Teachers too have had a massive impact on my life. I bet the examples I give aren't so uncommon. We grew up in a much softer and wholesome world. We need to be a cushion and proactive good influence for the young adults around us. For those of us older, we've had many, even if our immediate family wasn't the best environment. And, I've always been thankful for the rich goodness I was surrounded with on my way. It really matters.

I lived on a street where there was an old couple who none of the neighbours paid attention to. They were grumpy looking and we kids called her "the Witch" only because of how she looked. Then they put a pool in their back yard and invited the kids to use it. We did! They turned out to be the nicest people who couldn't have kids. Mrs. Giles even took us kids to a parade downtown once and they were always very kind to us. Lesson is truly don't judge a book by the cover. RIP Mr. and Mrs. Giles and thank you for your kindness.
