96-98 Mustang GT Coil On Plug Conversion 

A more expensive but arguable better option is a msd 6 mod ignition. They allow use of the coil on plugs with a fully adjustable timing map. Can be used for efi or a carb swap with a victor jr intake. Otherwise it's nice being able to make timing adjustments and data log on the fly.

The car ran pretty much the same. It really cleaned up the engine bay though.

I'm still running a sn95 computer. This setup was completely plug and play.

I haven't drove it much since I installed it. I didn't notice any spark knock but I do have a boost a spark installed on a 4 psi hobbs switch

@@stevenbowen90 Good deal. If it ever ends up giving you problems I ended up relocating my coils to the back firewall and it ends up being even cleaner than using the COP conversion harness. - imgur.com/bflCWGR

25 psi I let out at 5,500 rpm. It will peg the needle on the gauge.

Did you have any problems nick? I have one for my 4v I read a comment on top you’ll lose spark due to the pcm firing differently

The pi swap and cams should get you to the 300s. If you want mid 300 to 400 you will need a supercharger. Vortech and procharger are both great choises.

so exactly why the fuck would you want to delete the IAC on a street car ? as for your adding the cop but not changing the PCM to a newer style ? the 1996-1998 pcm fires according to waste spark where it fires on the compression stroke of one cylinder and exhaust stroke on the diametrically opposed cylinder simultaneously. if you are using cop with the stock pcm your getting half the spark energy .. you might have not had an issue because you have a multispark Msd box but you are still getting less spark then prior and people without MSD spark control box will get even less .. Do you even think each mod you do to your car through ? or do you buy shit willy nilly off the internet and do not even put any thought to was this shit meant for your application? stop making videos on how to do shit wrong ..

⁠​⁠​⁠@@mathewhoffer4541not sure where this guy got his from but I got mine off the Svt forms 13 years ago from a guy that tested and made it for the 96-97-98 4v and it works fine for me. But yeah IAC delete is dumb for street applications

The harness isn't factory It was made by a guy on a Facebook forum. I bought it used so I don't know the original guys name.

@@stevenbowen90 Thank you so much... there was a bunch of people on the forums stating that this conversion does not work in boosted applications and seeing I am only at 6 PSI for now I wanted to verify!

To be honest we gave it back to the owner and he was getting it tuned and we haven't got an update yet

@@allaboutdiy1375 The turbo kit is nice I would change the lines and fitting for the oil filter relocation kit and the turbo oil return but other than that its nice.

vortech2v nice I’m glad to hear that. Basically minor stuff. They usually run about $2200 for the kit? Does that sound right to you?
