This how-to video does a complete, detailed walkthrough of everything you need to know about your Branson 2515h (or any 15 Series) compact tractor's 50 hour service maintenance. It covers everything in your owner's manual and a much more. There are also a lot of tips for those doing this for the first time. So I hope you find this very helpful and informative.
Also, in this video I reference an earlier video that shows how to load a grease gun and grease the Branson BL 150 loader. Here's the link ( • 86-Branson Tractor Mai... ). And see my full playlist of Branson tractor related videos here ( • Branson/TYM Tractor ).
Specific equipment shown in this video:
- Branson 2515h Compact Tractor with BL150 bucket loader
- Workforce Pistol Grip Grease Gun with Ridged Extension, L1320 sold by Tractor Supply Co.
- Haul Master 3-pt Quick Hitch (Harbor Freight)
- YINTATECH Ballast Box; See my review video "64-Ballast Box Review" ( • 64-Ballast Box Review ... )

Good morning, enjoy your channel and have the same tractor. Very convenient to review prior to actually doing the first service and will be doing mine in a few days. Can't tell you how nice it is to watch a channel that's down to earth and easy to follow. Subscribed a few months ago.

Thanks so much for your kind words. You made my day! I really appreciate hearing that from you, as it's a lot of work to put these videos together. It's knowing there are kind people like you out there who are enjoying these that keep me going and inspire me to try to encourage others to get outside and DIY. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Very much appreciated. Sincerely.

Fantastic video on this service. I was really surprised how much hydraulic fluid it took.
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Год назад
I was surprised too that the book called for that much. I didn't end up putting all 9.8g in, so either I didn't compress all the hydraulic cylinders correctly, or the manual overstated what was needed. It all still looked very clean to me when it came out, so I'm not too concerned. Thanks for your comments and for watching.

Transmission plug is 30mm, not 28mm. The bigger trans filter is a bugger to get out with a backhoe installed, it might be better to remove the backhoe first before servicing. We met in Mineral a few months ago.

Great video! Hard to believe automated manufacturing messes up filters, but I've had similar things happen to me over the years. Way to be that excellent owner who maintains their equipment! I'm about to do a DIY oil change on our Bobcat. Not yet at the hour mark, but the calendar says it's time in my book.

Hard to believe the different threads for the filter. I would have been cussing up a storm. I also liked the old school torque wrench. Thanks for the video. My 2515H 50 hr. service is coming up soon. I think I'll try to do it myself. I don't remember you mentioning torque values for the loader mount. But they can be found in the Loader, Operator's manual and Parts Catalog. Thanks again for the video.
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Год назад
Excellent! Thanks for pointing me to the loader torque specs; totally makes sense to be there. And thanks for the supportive words. The video is much longer than I had intended, but I tried to pack a lot of content in. I'll eventually roll out my new website, where I can share all the details for my videos in one, easy to search and use location. Just not enough hrs in the day to do everything I can dream-up Let me know how your 50hr service work goes, if you decide to DIY. Thanks for watching.

Just getting ready for my 50 hr service. My dealer is about 80 miles away, so I called and had them ship every thing I needed. But unlike you with an incorrect filter, my dealer forgot to ship it. I had to call and ask if there was a problem? No problem, just forgot to ship. Had everything the next day. I did have to purchase a new grease gun. I had gotten a pistol grip type and trying to squeeze cold (almost frozen) grease was more than my grip could muster. So got a lever type and a Lock n Lube tip for it. This 50 hr service is a much more expensive endeavor than I could have imagined.

@twc-projects Год назад
Glad the video helped, and glad your dealer was responsive. Yes, I felt the same about how expensive it ended up being. Hate to think what it would have cost to have the dealer do the work. Thanks for your comments and for watching.

Great video! I have a 3515 and I also purchased from Lake Anna Tractor! You're videos have been great! One thing I don't see in the manual is about checking the hydraulic fluid level....maybe I'm being a little too overly detailed here but when you check your hydro level are you screwing the dipstick all the way in or just dropping it in and pulling it out without screwing it all the way on the threads? Some of the other equipment i have specifically points out whether or not to screw in your dipstick or not when checking so thats why i was wondering....anyway, just figured I'd ask someone else's opinion. Great videos, Keep them coming!
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Год назад
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoy these. As far as the hydraulic dip stick, I have not seen in manual any detail, but I believe your tractor needs to be on a true level, since there is a lot of fluid in there, to get a realistic reading. And I think you need to screw it all the way in. The measure lines are so close together that a half inch of threads seems like night and day. I'm not certain about that, so you can always reach out to David at Lake Anna Tractor for a more authoritative answer. But with nearly 10gal of fluid, I think there's plenty of margin for error. Thanks again for your supportive comments, your question, and for watching.

Thanks for a great video. I don't have my tractor yet, but when I do I'll be ready to do the service. Just want to mention one other thing. In watching the video I noticed you had some debris on the front side of the radiator. Is blowing that out on the list of things to do? If not, you may want to go back and check that.

Thanks for the positive feedback and for mentioning the debris. I'll have to check that out and clean it up if it's still there. Thanks for looking out for me and for watching.

For the front axle service, are there two drain plugs (one on each side) and one fill plug (on the front left side)? Great video, by the way. Got most of the 50 hour service done on my 2515h today except for the front axle service. Thanks.
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Год назад
That's correct. Filler/dipstick on one side (gas tank side), but drain plugs on both sides. You got. Nice job! Glad the video helped. Thanks for the comments and for watching.

You know when. Gen X’r buys a tractor he’s gonna maintain it himself. So I have a question for you. I don’t have many tractor dealers nearby but there is a Mahjndra dealer 2 miles away yet I just don’t like their tractors as my neighbor has one and I think the purplish color is ugly and the paint faded really fast in the weather. His bucket arms also broke and needed welding reinforcement plates. I do have a Branson dealer that now turned TYM. They still have Branson models galore and a lot of TYM’s in stock. Great dealership over the phone and quick to help. I did a lot of research online and really like the 2515 shuttle shift models due to the gear drive torque and longevity and replacement cost compared to a hydro drive. My dilemma is I’m not sure wether or not to get the Branson 2515 or the TYM in the same model. To me the Branson seems to have some better components and features but not sure if support will be there for discontinued Branson models -although they’re pretty identical in many ways as the TYM’s. I’m just looking for opinions on this other than asking a salesman ….BUT The salesman is not shy to be bluntly truthful in other areas yet I know sometimes they won’t be as honest in order to make a sale. It’s so nice to see a video Like this from a real tractor owner that is doing his own work and not just talking away pushing the tractor product as a paid advertiser that was given a tractor to make videos on. We really rely on real world guys like you when it comes to real world content.
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Год назад
Thanks for the props. Glad you found the videos helpful. Yes, TYM bought Branson and have now put their branding on it; no more Branson website, etc. But as far I know, they haven't really changed much. They bought Branson because it was such a well engineered product and I've heard TYM wanted to use some of Brandon's design and manufacturing for other TYM lines--so I've heard. I don't expect any different support from TYM on Branson tractors. Unlike a lot of the other brands in this space, Branson actually designed and manufactured the tractor. And TYM bought the manufacturing and all, so you should be good either way you go. Good luck. Hope you enjoy your tractor as much as I enjoy mine..

Great detailed video. I'm thinking of purchasing 2515. Would you still buy this tractor if you had to do all over? Appreciate any feedback!
@twc-projects
@twc-projects 7 месяцев назад
Glad you liked the video. Yes, I would buy it again. Of course, each person has specific needs to consider. Mine was lifting capacity as I use the loader more than anything else. One downside I've learned over time though, is that the loader is not as smooth and as easily controlled as some other tractors appear to be. When you have a heavy load in the bucketbor grapple, it's difficult to let it down smoothly and slowly. Tends to jerk a bit, even when you are being as gentle as you can. And sometimes when you're going up hill, especially with a load, you have to use mid or even low range. But it's certainly nice that it has 3 ranges for transmission. When I see demos of other more expensive tractors, I find myself laughing because they describe their features as new and usually only found on bigger tractors. E.g., auto PTO, or cruise control, or 3 ranges. I laugh because my 2515 came with all those things, for 15-20K less than theirs. So yeah, I'd definitely buy it again. It's not the best tractor out there by any means, but from what I've seen, it's the best in its class. Does everything I expected it to. Lot's more videos on this tractor can be found on my playlist "Branson/TYM Tractor" ru-vid.com/group/PL8T-iSUAEa2QWRRPtDuLHEtsVFH-vzFXS&si=jslNYMQX6-CEvWhm )
