@adhynugroho9424
@adhynugroho9424 7 лет назад
RG3 It was always gonna be difficult to place anyone in "the right" order. Put it this way, there are a total of 22 positions (both offense and defense). With only 100 spots, they couldn't even guarantee the top 5 players from each position to be on the list (You'd need 110 spots for that). And then u have some positions, like the QB, RB, and WR, which will probably feature more than 5 players from each of those positions... which makes for even fewer available spots on the list. So imho, just to be mentioned in the Top 100 Players of All Time, on any spot is pretty dope. :D
@RGsmokinthathunnitHMNdawgpound
Adhy Nugroho nooo just image him playing back been
@tubewatcher38
@tubewatcher38 7 лет назад
Yes, but there are 3-4 LBs out of the 22 positions; 3-4 DL, 4 DBs... so there would be 13-19 LBs if they were selected proportionally, which they weren't obviously. I don't think Junior Seau made the top 100, which is worse than Brooks being #97 to me, even if the list was made in 2009 (I think). Howie Long (DE) didn't make the #100 which is ridiculous too. Andre Tippett, Bill Romanowski didn't make it, & lots of other great LBs & other players didn't.

I mean Derrick Brooks is one of my favorite players of all time the guy could do it all. He could drop into coverage and defend the pass, he was a great run stopper, and he could get to the quarterback. He also was very instinctual. I mean he was first team all pro nine times, he won defensive player of the year in 2002, and was an eleven time pro bowler and most importantly a super bowl champion. I still have and wear his jersey every chance I get.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard Bucs fan, and Brooks is an absolute god... but I'll just put this out there.. (and it's really a portrayal of the sad state the NFL is in right now.. ) But about 40 percent of those hits would be either unsportsmanlike or targeting penalties today. People like Brooks have been regulated out of the game. NFL's days are numbered.

I used to watch him in total amazement, particularly because if he wasn't the first defender to the ballcarrier, he was almost always the second. Because his ball-reaction and makeup speed were so good, he easily covered the ground of two backers. So many great players on Tampa-2, but he was the best of all of them, making everyone else's job easier.
