Thanks for the good install video. Looks like you had the same upgrade Delco unit for that time. The tape and CD players on mine both have become unreliable, though using a tape-player adapter as an Aux port trick still works fine for using my smart phone through the six van speakers. The RDS (Radio Data System) on my Oldsmobile is kinda nice as it lists the station name and formats and such. Not sure that Pontiac units had that. Online data on mixing, matching, and fixing the 80's-00's Delco units could be a lot better. The anti-theft features GM started using are also less than helpful now when adapting junkyard units.

I have an ‘05 Grand Am GT that brought up in discussion a couple times regarding rusted rocker panels and where to find new metal. Anyway, have you ever noticed just about all Grand Am GT monsoon factory 6by9 in the back are junk.? The woofer is 2ohm, and both woofer & tweeter are independently powered & filtered via the amp. Now, putting any 4ohm 6by9 in place of reduces volume output and if you run the woofer wires, you lose the highs frequency’s. A great replacement is the G6 rear 6by9’s they are a direct replacement, and sound so much better than the old dry rotted & blown ones associated with ‘05 and earlier Grand Am. I thought maybe you could do a video regarding this. It would be informative I’m sure. Thanks, Chad.

Where did you buy the wiring harness

Was there any extra wiring for a monsoon to add an amp?

I cut the wires for the unit, not knowing I could get a harness.. can I somehow work with that?
