Nice explanation. I just had this performed at the local shop (added the alignment part) on a 2002 Tahoe Z71. The front end came up 2 inches, now only 1.5 cm lower than the rear. The goal with the level was to get the Tahoe ready as a lite overlander.

Soooo....i came across this video BECAUSE i was looking to see WHY my truck didn't have any coil springs. & find out as i did some research that any marked as 4wd/4x4/off road vehicle will not have springs but have torsion bars. To my surprise, i didn't know what they were BUT i had seen them & never knew what they were (felt very dumb after that). So that's how i ran into this video. Liked 👍 the video by the way on how simple the adjustment was done. Had a truck before now than 10 yrs ago & was never too into customzing or upgrading my truck & now i got another one after looking for So many yrs. But now I'm interested in taking care of my truck pretty good & finding out new things that i should of known back then lol So now here comes some more dumb questions for my own education. Lol why is the adjustment done, what does it do? & how often are we to do that? This adjustment will only make the FRONT wheels adjustment? Or back also? Is this in place of putting LIFTS on the front suspension? My truck has a back lift of about 2in i believe (might be a 3in lift) so would i need to change the lifts from the back if the adjustment lefts it at the same level as back? Plz excuse my ignorance but i am interested in knowing about this torsion bar adjustment and more. Thank you in advance.

@dailydrivensedans4875
@dailydrivensedans4875 Год назад
Standing it on the frame rails takes almost no weight off the keys. What you need is a torsion key tool too actrually take the weight off. Jacking it up is badically the same as just leaving the tires on the ground. Also if you tow you dont want the front raised any more then half of an inch or your braking and stability will be noticeably worse!

I'm not 100% sure but I believe they will rub when turning, if you did a little lift you'd be good

don't forget that you're changing the camber of your wheels, to much and you'll have very uneven tire wear.

Wrong method. You need to unload the tension with a unloading tool or a 2 jaw puller. Using the bolt fucks it up.

Rough country leveling keys , are $79. Way better than turning up your bolts , that makes it ride like shit.
