I'm fine with that too. I think some people have too high expectations from a $10 bottle. I've got a bottle on order for my daily driver. I'm not even going to correct paint. I'm just going to thoroughly wash my daily driver, get all the bugs and tar marks off and that's it. No claybar or anything that extreme. If it lasts 4 to 6 months at that price. I'm happy!
@@tonytober your assuming proper preparation to paint as well as maintenance boost to ceramic.. but $10 is well worth it if last 6 months. Also was it just 1 coat? Most put 2 coats and recommended to apply 2 months later to get a layer effect.
He doesnt know what hes talking about.. no ceramic coating will last 5 yrs to a lifetime. For $8 this stuff is very good. It should last about 6months to a year.
John, from the Forensic Detailing Channel did some investigating into this and similar cheapo coatings. He believes that the makers are buying genuine ceramic product in bulk, and then basically producing heavily diluted and thinned out coatings that are mainly solvent based. This is why they tend to be easy to apply and flash-off quickly. Still, if you're looking for a cheap product that will act like a good sealant for a fraction of the price, it's still probably a good buy for $10.00.
@@shpfro agree 100% it's a complete injustice to the product when someone who doesn't know how to use the product tells others it doesnt work. Many other videos and people are very happy with this product. I can tell you for $10 it's very good. Hell apply 3 coats one week about and this stuff will shine like crazy. Also good on windshield and headlights
I used this product twice now with no problems. Still beading water after 5 months in Michigan. I first did a paint correction and then used Chemical Guys Wipe-Out to do a final clean. The only 'problem' with this product is trying to decipher the instructions 😆
Yep. The FRS is starting to fail quickly and we’re just about to the one year mark. It worked great, like a ceramic at first.. but going into it we knew it wouldn’t last like a regular ceramic. Onto the next thing!
I maybe wrong however the test on the trunk maybe not work if your paint is the great shape with a wax. As I understand it a car that is freshly waxed will look as good as a ceramic coated car however the ceramic coating will last longer . Most waxes last about 2-3 week before they start de solving so 100 day is not bad. At 10 dollars per 100 days that that would mean the 70 dollar ceramic cost would need to last 700 days which is no the outside most coating especially in the snow
Wax paint is good to clean but need to use alcohol or grease remover. The wax will prevent the ceramic to stick to paint.. I bet that's what happened to his
dear friend , i totally agree with you, It seems that those cheap ceramics are versions of the expencieve ceramics, that is why it is easy to apply, easy to buff of, but ....short lived.........i think this make sence....the expencieve ceramics maybe has much more consetration levels of ..whatever... polymer are inside that is why they are so dificult to aply them , dificult to buff of, they need perfect clean clear coat to bond.and that is why they have very long life................. what you pay is what you get....and i agree that.on an old daily driver..full of scratches and swirls...maybe this cheap product is...decent....... thanks for sharing with us your opinion
marios kosmidhs you know what? $10/bottle that last 4-6 months on my cheap daily driver? I'm fine with that! I wasn't expecting this to be a miracle product for hundreds less than a real ceramic. And I'm not going to "paint prep". Just a thorough wash and get all the bugs and tar marks off. Then I apply Mr. Fix and I'll garage my car for a weekend to "let it cure". I'll just use the wife's car in the meantime.
So sad, bro. I just bought 2 bottles after seeing your videos about the product(still waiting for them) . Do you think that maybe the snow in your car could be one(or the main) reason because the product doesn´t last like expected? I mean, I just paid for the bottles, and.... in the place where I live definitely, there is no snow. So, maybe the product could last more , what do you think?
Jorge Luis Tinoco Magaña no the snow wouldn’t have anything to do with it. I’m sorry you bought the product. You can use at your own discretion but I cannot support this product. I appreciate the comment. Subscribe because I’ll be doing more coating videos soon
you never made a video of apllying that stuff to your TL ?!? its been a year since you applied ceramic coating to your mercury, why wont you make an update video on that car
Yup. He's testing methods suck. The original video showed promise... even though he didn't follow the recommended "leave it alone for 12 hours". Then the 50 day video show little degradation. And now this video doesn't even show the original mercury. If it's so damn awful, show us the daily driver mercury after 100 days!
First mistake, it says nothing about wetting the towel , it says apply directly to the towel wrapped around sponge 5 drops at a time, It says to allow 24 hours before touching, dusting, wetting. None of the conditions where followed in your video so this final video holds no weight. Do a test on "Nu-Finish" the once a year car polish. Worked on my daily drive for 5 years for twenty bucks. Just drive through the car wash. Clean again.
@@mohamedbadr7280 after applying 1st layer wait for 1 hour then apply 2nd layer then after 24 hour apply 3rd layer but keep in mind keep in a clean room with no dust . the reason is after 2 layer u have to wait 24hour to full cure the 1st and 2nd layer
thank you saad, i'm in Dubai so weather is not less than 30 degrees even night time and i don't have a closed garage sadly, can i do the 3 layers in one day and do you think the third layer will be affected if i kept my car under a shade parking only
Did you ever think about doing the application verbatim? I haven't tried this material yet but I have some and I will try it just to see if applied verbatim per instructions. Before you go and criticize a product for its performance you should criticize your application and demonstration process. I bet their's a reason for a 3 day wait to wash time before washing. Look at it like this..... if you put paint on a piece of wood or metal if you don't let it cure for the proper time and start spraying water on it you will wash away some of the paint thusly its not going to last as long that's not the paints fault, plus the fact that you said when the instructions were put into English that it made them hard to understand so that said the 2 hours dry time could be wrong. I have some that is supposed to be for glass it has the same exact direction, same bottle, same cloth and applicator HUMMMMMMM!!! so I'm thinking it's all the same stuff. If it looks like a skunk, sounds and runs like a skunk but smells like a rose garden then its probably fake. Thanks for the great videos keep them coming.
Dont use wet cloth.. just use low fluff micro fiber.. wipe the haze not rub. If you see it getting tacky then use some sealant spray. I had no issues.. find a cloth with low nap.
@@leschar1 wait so you ordered the first, noticed it was shit then ordered 3 more and made a video with the last one saying it was good until it wore off?
Hmmm so where did you learn it's a sealant or wax? Or just your assumption? No ceramic last a life time, professional application ceramic usually last 2 - 3 yrs and cost $500 to $2000. Also did you prep the paint? Wax/cleaner, iron remover, clay bar then use a grease/wax remover? OMG!!! I just saw your video applying this product... LMAO. You completely fk'd it up. No wonder it didnt work for you!!!! People reading this, please do your self a favor, stop listening to this guy and watch another video on how to correctly apply ceramic coats. This guy did so many this wrong, 1) never apply in sun or outside, 2) the so called "shop rags" are only to apply product 3) let product sit on paint for about 1 min. if warm weather(just before it hazes) NOT upto 5 mins. 4) use clean micro low nap cloth to wipe product (Its not included) 5) apply in small 2x2 sections (not half hood) 6) No water for 2days and wait 2hrs to apply 2nd coat (he applies water within hrs) 7) Must use degreaser to remove wax and grease from paint (he didnt). Ceramic will not stick to wax. No wonder product fails. Not even a $200 product will work when it's not properly applied. this product is applied using a 2x2 sections wiping just before haze usually about 45-60 secs. After whole car is done let cure for about 2 hrs for second coat. Then cure another hour to use a sealant spray. And not water for 24hrs. For $10 most people are seeing great results lasting 12 months which is amazing for $10 investment. Also need to keep using boasters every month so coating continues to work. Something tells me you did none of the above. I can tell you first hand, this product works. Last about 1 yr
