@@jamesmarkov9570typically 357 Sig won’t travel much further than 9mm or 40 through flesh, gel, jugs but it does travel further through barriers. The real difference is even though it doesn’t go much further the damage and energy transfer difference is where it shines… and it shines bright.
Not even a fair test to compare the power of the 357 Sig to the other two oldies! Also the 125 gr Federal HST in the 357 Sig performs much better than the mild Golden Saber.
Love my .357 Sig's. (Glock and Sig Sauer). I have a .40 barrel interchangeable with the Sig. Excellent testing. The bullet mushrooming is deadly. Thanks for all you do amigo. All the best to you and heavy metal.
I love my Beretta Cougar 357 sig. Academy Outdoors sold it as a discontinued pistol and I picked it up for less than 400 bucks. It is a 1911 style 11 round pistol. This pistol breathes fire.
Im a .45 guy but carry what your comfortable with. Golden Sabre have always been good rounds. Gold dot has always been my preference with Winchester silver tips also.
@@jeffreygoss8109 the 125gr 357sig Golden saber clocks at 1450fps over my chronograph. I haven't sent the 124gr 9mm over it yet. I can only do tests in water jugs, I don't have gel.
Good li’l video Hoot. As for what I carry, I carry a Gen 3 Glock model 21 in .45acp and I use Hornady Critical Duty .45 Auto +P 220gr. FlexLock. My other preference for self defense boolots is Federal Hydra-Shok.
I have carried a 1911 of some sort for the past 30+ years. I have five different 1911’s, a Colt Defender, Para Ordnance LDA Carry 12, Kimber Aegis Elite Pro, Springfield Operator, and in 9mm, a RIA Tactical Gov’t. My favorite 2 are the Para LDA and the Kimber. The Para because it’s a double action double stack 1911 and the Kimber because it’s just so nice to shoot, especially with dual fiber optic sights. Very smooth and accurate pistol.
I don’t no if this was an old video or not but I love this kinda content. Good to see the milk jug test again. Maybe next we could see my favorite the paper plate test on maybe 7mm prc or something new to the channel
@@WHOTEEWHO people might think it's an old video because the water jugs seem to get reused. Might need an indicator that it's a new one in the thumbnail.
The Golden Saber is one of my favorite ammo along with HST. 357sig is my preferred carry load. I bought a Sig SP2340 in 357sig back in 1999 and she has never failed me.
I bought a 5" kkm 357sig conversion barrel for my m&p c.o.r.e. with trijicon sro, she sure is a shooter.... 357 sig has been one of my favorites for years, next to the 10mm. Great video.... Had to look how old it was. Great to see you post milk jug or paper plate penetration test again. 👍
That’s why I like the 357 Sig. I bought the 229 when it first came out in 357 and since then got a P320 in 357 sig as well! Makes a nice EDC. Adam try some Sig Sauer V Crown personal Defense 124 HP ammo in your 357. I think you’ll like it.
I’m going with 357 sig only because I have watched other test with 357 sig vs 9mm plus lighter and faster looks like some good stuff thanks for another great test
The comparison videos on this channel have saved me a BUNCH of money and tons of time trying to figure out what is worth having. If my life might depend on it, i wanna have some comparitive data and I DO not wanna pay for things that aren't proven to work. Thank goodness for Who-Tee and the milk jugs.
My everyday carry is a Kahr CT45 semi auto 45 ACP. Slim, trigger like a revolver, hardly know your carrying it! Mrs. 458 Okie (my wife) carries a taurus 85 Ultralite in 38 special.
Years ago my son and I loaded 45 cal Sierra 185 gr jacketed hollow points under a max charge of Unique powder. Consistently, these rounds would stop in the second jug with a textbook mushroom. Used a Colt 1911 series 70.
I am surprised that the 357 Sig did so well. I had the same thought as you that the increase speed would have had it expand very quickly and therefore penetrate less. Also kudos to you for using the same brand in type of ammo for each round.
Another gun-tuber once asked “what’s the point” of 357 Sig. 300 fps more is the point. It’s my go-to of I’m not carrying 9mm (my 357 Sig gun is a p239, so the capacity is better than a revolver but not as good as a wonder nine)
Your vids are like how my buddies and I get together on a Saturday and shoot some stuff and test bullets etc. 230gr HSTs in my .45 147gr Winchester Defender in my 9mm.
What a great return of the ol’ milk jug test! All of your content is great, but just know you were really onto something in the earlier days with this type of a test. Want to know why it is so good? Because your followers can easily duplicate it with whatever gun they have in the caliber you feature in the tests. Good on you Adam to show us how a Gundie award winner and Rock Chuck Olympian layer down part of his foundation 👍🏻🫡
I carry consistently the .380 in a Colt Government Lightweight and Ruger LCP Max. I carry the 9mm in the Glock 43X or Sig 365 XL. My 45 is the Colt Lightweight Commander, G30 Glock, and I have used Golden Sabre for years. I like this round. I now have to buy some Bonded Golden Sabre to try. I no longer have my G32, which went through two tactical courses but carried the Golden Sabre. I'm considering getting a 357 Sig conversion barrel for my G22, as I have plenty of 357 Sig ammo. Just a barrel change. I usually go with OEM barrels on my conversions, but I found a great guy who makes superb conversion barrels. I have one for my G22 to 9mm. Works great and is a match barrel. So far, no hiccups. I'm not a competition shooter, jist ole tactical stuff. Love the test. Gelatin is okay, but jugs do the job and are less expensive. GREAT VIDEO.
Good video WTW ! Well done I really appreciate you using the same brand of ammunition and heavy per caller and not lite for 9mm and heavy for others. 👍🏻👍🏻🙂
Milk jugs are a thin-skinned creature so I decided to go with the 9mm, still hunting, at the crack of dawn I came upon a flock down by the old dump, with excellent sight & hearing I was scared they might detect me, but it had been raining and the leaves were wet, so far so good, the wind was in my face plus I was wearing plastic in heat on my drag-rag hoping a male Milk jugs would pick up the scent and give me the opportunity for a big male. I had been watching WHO?______TEE___WHO's video just before I fell asleep!!!..........yikes
I carry in the 357 SIG a 1911 SIG NIGHTMARE CARRY COMMADER which has proven very reliable, accurate and powerful. .45 fan for many decades along with the .38 Super and 10mm. 1911 fan in all of these.
That sig is a beast currently looking for one thats not a glock may just buy a 40 smith and Wesson and get the conversion barrel for it and some 357 sig mags for it
I havent seen these videos pop up on my page for the last couple of days! I am of course subscribed and the bell icon is on...YT trying to prevent me from watching WTW, GOOD LUCK!
it looks to me that 230gr at 830 fps is a pretty potent killer but I was told you need a close to super sonic round to expand an hollow point. It looks to me that the 830fps was plenty enough
I was so excited about watching this video this morning with my coffee I couldn’t even sleep last night. It has been a long time my friend, watching these types of videos.
Good to know!! Now we all know!!! These are just the best videos ever I think. And probably WTW would have to call them his bread and butter of his work!!! Thanks a bunch for taking me to the Range I don’t get out much m but I did pick up a new bing bang a CZ 75 bd Wa Yea !! No rail for a chandelier as wild man wood say. !!
I like these milk jug videos. Would be nice to somehow judge the energy delivered to target. I'd think the 45 would win for stopping power. Obviously. Speed kills too however and the Sig was impressive. But then over penetration has its worries considering what we use these bing bangs for. reed scott
I carry a SW 686+ 357 4" 7 round I guess I am kinda old school I carry a revolver I was brought up on this gun. I also love the 1911 I had a Colt 1911 I was foolish I sold that gun it's my one regret now I am looking for another one.
Have tried to freeze some of those jugs even the smaller jugs? You can take an empty 24 oz. beer can stuff some plastic grocery bags in it, fill it with water and freeze it. You can use a water jug with water for the 1st to shoot and alternate the others. I used to duct tape telephone books together for ballistic testing but good luck at finding telephone books today.
The test I want to see is a wooden box 12" x 12" x 24" with wood spacers about 4" apart along it 24" length with each section filled with sand to see how far different calibers will go through.
I carry 9mm, and .45 , and sometimes. 380 but, after seeing these results I'm going to have to see if these will work flawlessly in my pistols. If they do I will change carry rounds from my gold dot.
