My parents generation didn’t understand that sampling kept music alive; it wasn’t stealing. If it wasn’t for producers like 9th introducing me to these legendary musicians, I’d still be crankin’ that soulja boy.
I’ll never forget when Scratch magazine interviewed 9th and pressed him a little about his use of Fruity Loops (which then was still considered a novice software) and asked if he was going to upgrade his equipment or purchase new gear since he found success in the music industry… He just goes, “If I’m sinking threes in Chuck Taylors, why do I need to run out and buy Jordan’s?” Legend. King. Much respect. 👑
As someone who started making beats on Fruity Loops in the late 90's it's crazy to see how much of modern rap is produced with FL. It really did sound like ass back then though, super robotic. I was like 17, we all really WANTED MPC's but they always felt so out of reach money wise. I own a few now and have a lot of respect for what young beat makers can do with FL but I still think the MPC 3000 and even the 2000xl sound better.
so? you're literally just spamming peoples' comments with the same shit. someone had to say something. get the fuck outta here if you don't like 9th's work. why are you even here if you're just gonna diss him? i'm not saying that the zion and grouch tune isn't bumping, but that's irrelevant here. TL;DR you're a waste of space. fuck off.
Hahaha lol no joke mang that shit is unreal...nobody like 9th I think his beat making ability is up there with dre and timberland!!! I don't know how 9th hasn't blown up I know he's big with Hip Hop Heads like myself but he should be world-renowned already like wayyy more respected how talented he really is!!!
The beat has been out for about two months now, its called Baby Cry on his project Zion go copp it wherever. Thank you to everyone who told me it was out, very nice of you guys!! :)) And to those who are fucking arguing over stupid shit, get over yourselves and just enjoy this FIYAAAAA
god damn i get emotional any time I watch a talented person perform with passion, you can just see that he loves what he's doing and that's why we all love it too
He flipped it inexplicably.. i make beats predominantly on sampling but 9th is on another dimension. Salute brotha.. Hi Rapsody, thnx gracing the vid wit yo presence..
One of the best who ever done it! This has me thinking of J DIlla, Kev Brown, Nicolay, Jazzy Jeff and Large Professor and how they put complexity together and make it seem so simple but thats years of practice. Nice!!!
Nice! A German Hip Hop Group called "Blumentopf" used this sample also maybe 10 years ago. It was an their album "Kein Zufall". The first Interlude used this sample, and my whole life i listened to this 23 seconds long piece of music in auto repeat.
