Stirling is a great company. I usually cycle thru their sample pucks before committing to a bigger puck. Mountain man probably my favorite scent so far
I use the sample pucks. I like “Texas on Fire” and “Barbour Shop” the best thus far. I started wet shaving with the double edge safety razor from Razor Emporium. They sent it with Proraso tube soap. I then found Stirling and ordered the 5 pucks which lasted me a year. It took me a few shaves to figure out the amount of water needed for a great shave. The Stirling soap is a great lather and the shave is wonderful. They also have seasonal soaps as well, the “Apple Spice” and the “Pumpkin” as well. I think the Tallow is the key. I’m a customer for life at this point.
Sterling is great it’s in my rotation. I do shave every morning probably don’t need to but I enjoy the experience as far as crickets. I’m in Southeastern Kentucky. I have a fire pit on my patio. I loved listening to the crickets while watching the fire and having a Coleman lantern burning in the background very relaxing all my best to everyone at Razor Emporium. Have a great weekend Steve.
Just got lots of samples from Stirling. Very excited! I'm glad the American soap companies are continuing to use Tallow. It is sad to see all the European manufacturers (Mitchell's Wool Fat, Tabac) reformulated in the last two years without tallow. Only one soap is superior to Stirling: Mike's Natural Soaps.
I love Stirling soaps. Been using them for many many years. My favorites are coniferous in the fall and island man in the summer. Sharp dressed man and executive man year round.
Thank you so much for posting this excellent video. I am going to have to try Stirling soaps. I like that they also have a coffee shop at their location -- I have never visited them, mind you. I'm not really interested in injector razors, but I have to admit that this one gave you a pretty good shave.
Great shave Matt! Stirling is one of my favorite soap artisans 👍🏾😎 Great products at affordable prices! Tons of scents but my favorite is gotta be “Barbershop” 💈
Awesome video, thanks Matt 🙏 The razor sounds interesting. Still enjoying my Solo Edge, very different type of single edge blade apparently (half DE). Love the cricket sound 🤍
Nice shave, Matt! I love Stirling. I have several tubs and a couple of aftershave splashes. I really enjoy Coniferous and Satsuma. I also like Eucalyptus Mint and Gin & Tonic. I am a bowl lather for the most part. I enjoy the process of building my lather in the bowl. Stirling builds a thick, creamy lather, but it is definitely a thirsty soap. We also have hard water here which doesn't help.

I have a PAL injector from the 1960s and it is soooooo much smoother to shave with than the Parker. I can get a good shave out of my Parker injector, it's just always a bit rough.
At least you don’t have a rattlesnake in your studio! I think Stirling is a great company with excellent products that are a great value. I met Rod and Mandy at the Maggard Meetup and they are lovely people (like you and most of the folks in the shaving community). I use their shampoo bar everyday. I have used a number of their soaps. They are very good but, for me, they don’t face lather quite as well or are as slick as my two favorite tallow based soaps which are made by MacDuff’s and Declaration Grooming. I will have to go back and give them another try!
I love how the balm feels, it applies more like a lotion and my skin really appreciates that. I use the eucalyptus balm actually on top of my Proraso green splash because I prefer the Stirling balm over all balms (so far lol)
Hey Matt! Thanks for the review of this razor! I actually have it in my cart on ebay. To me, it looks more like the vintage Pal injector razor. If you get a decent blade on those injectors, they provide a superior shave! The blades may be a bit pricier, but they do last many shaves. Thanks again for the video! JimG
I love Sterling. The only problem is that they work great, smell great, are affordable, and last forever. 😉 I'm not sure about the Parker, as I've never used one. However, I primarily use injectors and AC razors, and I get the best, most consistent, and comfortable shaves from them. Thanks for the video, Matt. I look forward to the next one!
Stirling is also regularly rotated in my Den. Satsuma, the orange asian spice scent is amazing. It's in your shop, but deep blue sea is really good too, as is Queen of hearts
I've not tried an injector razor - it's on my list of things to try though. I have and currently use Stirling Soap shave products - one tip: you can get a bunch of small trial size soaps and use their smaller plastic green "tin" to lather up in - I get around a week to three out of them and lets you try a bunch of different options so for your next order you'll know what you like the best. Margaritas in the Artic is my favorite, Sharp Dressed Man, Executive Man are also nice - really you can't go wrong with about any of them!
Been using Stirling for the last year. I tried the rex 1955 and got addicted to tallow soaps, but I live in Portugal and getting rex is very difficult.. But I have an online Portuguese store that carries Stirling and I am in love with their soaps and splashes. Got the sastuma soap and splash for the summer and it is amazing
Satsuma is amazing. As a fragrance enthusiast and out of all that I have tried in fragrance, I would personally say that it is the best orange / mandarin-based scent I have ever smelled in a shave soap, so far. The fragrance that gets the closest to it is Acqua di Parma's Arancia di Capri.
Honestly I will probably never buy the Parker adjustable because I have the Schick adjustable and other vintage Schick's and enjoy the nostalgia of those razors. But Sterling makes some great soaps with some wonderful scents. As always, thanks for what you do for the wet shaving community Matt. Shave on and stay smooth. 73
I have used the Parker injector but I had some blade alignment issues. I will give it another try sometime soon. My favorite Stirling Soap at the moment is Lemon Chill. Cheers, Heiko
That Parker reminds me of the old PAL Adjustable Injector Razor from the 1960s (and there are a few old commercials on YT that show the PAL). But yeah, Stirling is one of my most recommended companies for beginner wet shavers and more. Their price to volume ratio is unmatched in the shaving community ($15 for 6 OZ of soap is UNHEARD OF) and Rod and Mady are always coming up with new scents based on the fragrance market and just complete ingenuity and creativity. I own seven soaps and four balms from them AND just bought a few balms based on Polo Red Intense (Red Eye), Tom Ford's Mandarino di Amalfi (Arance Mandarini), and Creed's Virgin Island Water (Island Man), so I'm looking forward to those (even though I know what Island Man smells like because I have a soap sample and shampoo bar). Anyways, I always say that if people want to try Stirling's shaving soaps, GET SAMPLES. They have very affordable and sizable 1 OZ soap samples that give you a great picture as to how a soap performs and how it smells before you get a larger jar of soap. And with the samples, I advise cutting part of the soap and lathering that in a bowl to prevent any mess or bacterial exposure.
Also Matt, since you are into vintage razors and video reactions, do you think you'd like to cover your modern day reactions to classic shaving commercials? I know there is a playlist on YT on vintage shaving commercials with Gillette, Schick, Personna, Old Spice, Palmolive, Noxzema, and others that I think you would get a kick out of, plus it would give seasoned viewers a little time travel back into their childhoods and show new wet shavers what classic shaving was like.
PAL and schick adjustable have Completly different angles. 😂 most ppl use the schick angle when first trying pals and assume pal is no good. Lol. I love my PaL adjustable and non adjustable
Great job again Matt!!! The retro Parker brings some nostalgia to the scene. Also the Stirling soaps look great. I’m gonna have to check them out. Keep up the good work brother.
All summer I use a Glacial Stirling soap. The menthol is relatively strong so I feel refreshed for about an hour after the shave. Great lather. I'm using the Lemon Chill right now.
I can't shave everyday. I get Irritation and skin burn. I've tried and it hurts my skin, so I wait like 3 to 5 days of growth and then shave works very well for me.
Another great video. Stirling soaps are amazing - great quality and great price plus a vast array of scents. The Parker looks interesting. How grippy is the handle?
Stirling rules- been my main for years. Favorite is their Pumpkin Spice, and their Coconut Lime is rediculously good. Nice people too. They can have my money lol.
I've been a Stirling customer since their origin in Texas. Deep Blue Sea is a beauty. Is that version 1 or 2 of that razor? I bought v1, and it's not very good. They claim v2 is much improved.
Why would someone buy a cream vs soap? Would both be worth it for certain people? Would the be both cost effective? What is your take on choosing either?
Loved the review Matt, Stirling is always a great value, their barbershop soap is a classic. Can’t blame the cricket 🦗 he was watching the review live!😂
I vote the cricket stays. Great ambient sound in the background 😂I've never used an injector razor prior, but I feel inclined to give it a go because this one in particular looks quite fun. Props to Stirling as well for making quality products! Happy Friday from Canada 👍
Great vid Matt, Must say this parker does not work for me and is the only injector (I started with a schick over 50 years ago and no probs, Supply adjustable also no probs) that I cannot use, irrespective of blade combo. I note the blade gap on the one you used appears uneven, as is mine. Will continue with the straight, DE or other SE shaves and relegate/retire this one to the collection. Nothing to say that others may well find this razor works for them. Stirling products are great and a pleasure to use. Cheers, John
Never used Stirling or an Injector Razor. I love my DE razor; won’t be switching any day soon. Injector blades are much more expensive than DE blades and less environmentally friendly.
Those blades, like the Feather Artist series, are like little samurai swords. You want to be CAREFUL, they're so sharp that you often do a full shave before realizing you've got half a dozen weepers. 😂 Especially with a kamisori, I'm going sloooowly and carefully. Amazing results though.
It's an excellent razor and comparable to my Schick Adjustable. There are so many New SE's out there that cost a fortune and IMO a waste. The Parker is made well and great value.
I bought this as a travel razor. I couldn't get it to shave. I left it in my hotel room after the third trip with it. There are far, far better SE razors on the market. Also, any vintage injector would be a better razor.
Let me tell you truly......I have used all the generations of Gillette Razors that the Gillette company has manufactured so far but the Gillette Fusion 5 power takes the prize.!
