The A-10 does have a thrust reverser, Yes it does use 30mm rounds to do it but it works and is a common short landing technique in DCS called GAU breaking

Try "bouncing" on the brake when trying differential braking. I do it all the time in the A4 Skyhawk as they dont posses nosewheel steering. ...well MOST dont anyway.

In my book series, The Fighting Tomcats, I created a Naval and Marine A-10. Watching this confirmed some of my suspicions. To integrate the A-10 into normal flight ops it does need to have an arresting hook and the ability to CAT launch. My A-10 also has folding wings. Thank you.

With CAT launch it probably could take 6 or 8 lrasms so quite big hit, or carry some fuel tanks and refuel pod

This is fun to watch. I live by Hill Air Force Base in Utah and the A10’s have been running maneuvers the last few days when I’m on my way home. Yesterday they were showing a couple F35’s how things are done 😂

Looks like from when it gives the alert, that the damage to the carrier during take off is you running over the ropes and rope pully system. Which if that is true, props to DCS for modeling in that amount of detail.

So a navy veriant of a a10 warthog would be a great idea, there is an aircraft that isn't well known called the S3 viking, which is really the bomber of the navy fleet, which the a10 an the s3 sharing the same engines it wouldn't be far fetched to have a new a10 varient

With the upgrades the Airforce is planning to do to the A-10, a launch pin and arrester hook would be an interesting addition. The 30mm would just DESTROY small ships.

Hey Dak, I don't know how's your setup, but from what I understood you do play keyboard and sort of analog input for the engines? I can suggest you, it's an expensive piece, but for DCS, VBS, IL-2 Sturmovik and ArmA Series and some VR supported, TrackIR, that's a pretty neat tool for freeing your hands from "head movement" freeing your fingers to other actions and giving you a more "precise" viewing with your head, usually recommended setup is 2 monitors, but you can do it with 1, like myself. Also has some leaning of the head unlike just the in-game restrictive moment.

Of course it has a thrust reverser. Its that little spinning round thing pointing out the nose of the aircraft. Just hit the "ground arm" switch to on and youll be fine

FYI, you left NWS on while trying to use differential braking. If you turn it off, you can turn within your own wheelbase with differential braking

i do know a way to have a “Thrust reverser” in the A-10 first step : you turn the ground safety off second step : select the gun third step :just land and apply your new “brake “

I might suggest getting the super carrier its about 5% bigger, has a full working crew too, has a iflos that pops up on the screen, and a lso just an idea if you will do carrier ops in the future or if you are going to continue to do things there this, ik this is long and you arnt made of money lol but I will also suggest trick ir or something like it its a head tracking program that you can use for DCS very useful if you like the sim

4:40 the F-15C/D/E has a "pinky switch" on the stick grip that allows an extra 15° of angle on the nose wheel steering unit for instances like these. I wonder if the A-10 has such a feature as well.

Im not sure but the A10 has nose wheel steering toggle. It might be the opposite thing to limit movement on takeoff and landing.

The A-10’s stall/takeoff speed is 120 mph which is crazy low compared to any modern supersonic fighter. Very similar to WWII fighters which surprisingly also didn’t use launch systems or ramps/ski jumps.
